Ah!! My favorite discoveries Holes on wall..... as previously mentioned, it's nothing to look at. Matter of fact, you'll pass it with out looking twice if not looking for the place. It's that hidden. It could use a pick me up with a nice paint job for a better eye view. The parking spot is small as is the dining area in here BUT the food and ambience is golden. The fact that it hasn't been YELP that often hasn't hurt the business. Should of seen it, the tiny place was FULL! Had to wait for a table to open Yay! LOL. In fact, the best yelpers of yester years has always been the "old word of mouth" That's how we work it here in ELA "Sorry For Party Hardy" Inside is clean, very nice murals. Not elegant NOW, for those who fancy looks but has a totally different look. Kinda makes it feel your smack in Mexico. The coffee is delicious and has a hint of cinnamon flavor. I had the menudo, which is hard dish to find, those who love it can understand my meaning, of an "al dente" cooked of the meat Loved it!!!!! I was plenty full till lunch time. The bathroom is very, very small but super clean That's a plus to me Definitely returning to try the Sopes or Tacos. Have no idea why a B grading, because she kept the area clean during the time I spent there

Long overdue review. Ive been ordering from Yuris for about a year or so. By all means this is no fancy restaurant and not high quality food but, food is good, big portions, and reasonably priced for members of the East Los Angeles Community. Rosa, Juana, Sergio and who work there are really nice, and do their job well. My favorite food from Yuris is: chicken torta, caldo the pollo, and huevos rancheros with a side of vegetables. I've also had their tacos which are served with lots of meat for meat lovers. I also enjoy their orchata and jamaica. Again, it's not a fancy or high quality restaurant, but, they work with what they have to serve anyone who walks into their restaurant with delicious food at affordable prices. Will still continue to eat at Yuris.

This is my go to menudo spot. We always bring our own pot and they'll fill it up at a super decent price. Great quality 100% of the time.

Delicious food, friendly service. Their tortas are my favorite. If they have it available I recommend the lengua torta.

Now when you pull up originally you might think, "am I in the right place" but once you park and get into the courtyard, it is LOVELY! Amazing ambience! There is a bocce set up, string lights. It is a little slice of oasis in the middle of the fashion district. The restaurant itself - beautiful. I couldn't ask for more. Absolutely perfect in my book. Beautiful plants hanging, perfect Spanish music in the background (any place playing Natalia LaFourcade is a win). The drinks were great! I had the jungle bird which was fun. Food was so good too. The whipped beans are the star! We had the guacamole which was tasty, great tostadas with it. The arepas were good but the pork belly was a little too fatty (I know pork belly is always fatty) to the point the fat muted the flavored for the arepa a bit, but still delicious. The empanadas were great and as someone who lived in South America and ate empanadas every day, these really took me back to my Paraguay days. The squash blossoms were light and perfectly fried. Unfortunately my friends had gone to Funke the night before so they were comparing the squash blossoms and Funke won out, but they still liked Dama's! Small plates were enough for the 3 of us. The service was quick and attentive. Parking was easy for us. I will definitely be back!

The staff are lovely humans who really seem to care about their customers. We have some faves on the menu. The bean dip is fabulous and I'm addicted to the baby gem salad. They have recently amped up the filling in the delicious crispy squash blossoms and I love the acidity and heat. The fish is also a hit in my books. One dish that doesn't work for me is the lamb chops, which is a shame since it's my favorite protein. I've ordered them multiple times with clear instructions on temperature and have found them overcooked and tough. The beef tostada was just ok. Whilst I loved the pickled veg on the side, the beef was underseasoned. It wasn't bad - just not up to the standard of other dishes. The vibe in the place is welcoming and the restaurant is nicely appointed. We will continue to be regulars and it's really worth trying if you haven't been yet.

All dishes were shareable and there were certainly some remarkable ones. Starting with my most favorite the ceviche bites (I can't tell you exactly what it's called on the menu, but it was one bite that left you enticed for more!) if you like fish, certainly a must. My second favorite, the roasted rainbow carrots (the salsa macha was palatable all by itself!!). Third favorite, grilled chicken (again, not sure the name on the menu but, it was so juicy and perfect with the housemade tortillas). Other menu goodies, the steak (ribeye bites) tortillas with salsa/guacamole, carnitas (looked good), cactus appetizer, and cheese (and cactus?) quesadilla. Unfortunately, I think the menu was somewhat curated for the private party but I CERTAINLY think it's worth exploring. A lively atmosphere to add to it all!

The building is an original piece of the City's history, boasting a menu that features their famous burritos that vary in size from a regular to a huge party size beast that can feed several. I tried the Hollenbeck and the Okie burritos on two separate occasions via pick up, as aforementioned, the service was quick, convenient and the pick up window is seamless, parking is located next to the structure and I haven't had problems getting there. Hollenbeck was good but I definitely enjoyed the Okie burrito more, I ordered the "original" size once and didn't seem to learn my lesson the second time, these burritos can feed two in Original size. They offer a "Mini" version which would be satisfactory for one person. My favorite thing about these burritos is how "home-made" they are, the salsas and meats are fresh and taste like they came out of an abuelitas kitchen. I still need to try the crunchy tacos and nachos which look great, I recommend trying this classic establishment at least once if you're in the area.
