Recently I suggested to my husband we give this place a shot, mostly because I'd seen how popular their café de olla is. We've now been twice. The interior is super cozy and charming. Traditional decor with lots of vibrant plants, colorful clay dishes, and homey feel. Service has been great both visits. First time, I got the chilaquiles verdes with carnitas. My husband had carne en su jugo, and he loved it. We both raved about the café de olla, it was served in these lovely hand-painted clay mugs. Second visit, I went for enchiladas verdes, and my husband tried the enmoladas. Again, everything was delicious. Parking may be the issue, depending the time you go. We looked for a Mexican food restaurant in the area and encountered this family owned delicious place. We were greeted by a young lady, which was very pleasant. The salsa for the chips was homemade spicy that left us wanting more. We ordered the molcajete mixto and sopes de pollo. Normally we don't finish the food, but the meats were delicious and the salsa too. My daughter is a picky eater and indulged herself with the savory sopes. Most definitely coming back. Service was good waitress was nice. Food was ok, pretty good but nothing that stood out. Portions we're good. Unfortunately the food did take a while to come out. And parking is TERRIBLE. I ordered the emoladas on the menu it said came with rice and beans. When my food was brought out it only had rice. I had to ask for the beans they we're nice about it but if I hadn't asked they wouldn't have brought them out. Listen I had no clue this spot was there and I am so glad i found it. Wasn't sure of what to eat so I looked through yelp and found this hidden gem. The service was amazing so welcoming so attentive. Their cafe de olla was perfect. I had their chilaquiles con huevo and bistec. It comes with beans and it had some lettuce I'm assuming side of salad but I mixed it all together and it was delicious! They do give you chips and salsa and let me tell you that salsa was deliciousssss!! The place isn't huge but it's perfect and cozy. I had read the reviews and had seen the pictures of this place and had been meaning to try it for a while! The food did not disappoint as it was flavorful and vibrant. The agua de jamaica was delicious and not overly sweet and sugary. The service was a bit slow, but I'm going to be sure to come back and try some other menu items. This is a hidden gem. Great food and good service. We had the green enchiladas plate and the chorizo and eggs plate. Both were great. The sides were good especially the beans. The young man that served us was very nice, knowledgeable and friendly. I don't like my food to be too spicy but my friend that was with me does.
