Great customer service, great prices, and great food! The guy working the front on 2/15/26 around 1:30pm was friendly, interpersonal, and knowledgeable. My family and I are in Montebello every weekend & crave tacos. But most street taco stands don't open till 3pm. We were drawn in by their instagram posts & how they open at 11am. They have $1 tacos EVERY DAY (carne asada is the only meat that is $2, but that's still a great deal). Sometimes when I go to other taco spots their meat is chewy/fatty. But this spot did not have the chewy meat. It was well done! We did the 8 tacos + 1 drink for $10. We had dinner there yesterday. As soon as we walked in, we should've just turned back right around. It was a mess. It was dirty and we spent time swatting flies. We wanted to give the food a try because of the great reviews we read online. Those must be from friends and family because not only was it not good, but it was super expensive. I had a chile relleno burrito with Carne asada for $17. Most of it was rice and although I have no complaints about the Chile relleno, the meat was inedible. Most of it was fat. My husband had a chile relleno plate for $17. The chele relleno again was OK but the rice and beans were not good at all. My son had the burrito with chicken. Yes the burritos are huge but you're basically paying for rice and beans with a little bit of chicken for $17. The agua frescas were $7 each. They were OK but for seven dollars definitely overpriced. I'd say Exclusive Cocina Mexicana is kind of hit or miss. The first time I went, I ordered Mexican rice and waited about 25 minutes--but it actually turned out really good. The second time, I got tacos (which are a great price), but again the wait was around 25 minutes. They also forgot my agua fresca, and I had to follow up twice just to get a refund. I gave it another shot and ordered rice again, but this time it wasn't fully cooked, which was disappointing. Honestly, I keep going back because it's affordable and super close to home, but the customer service and food quality just aren't consistent. Went today to get there 25 tacos for $20. However that does not include carne asada, I ended up paying $35 for upgrading 15 to Asada. Also got a burrito with Asada. Once home the meat had an aftertaste like old meat. The family only had one each. No one finished anything. Worst deal and worst tasting Mexican food I have had anywhere. I ordered my food at 10:58 am and got the 25 tacos for $20. They told me pickup would be at 11:30. My 30 minute lunch started at 11:30. I thought it would be a quick pick up but instead I wasted my whole lunch waiting. I received my food around 11:55 am. I then had to throw the onions and cilantro on all the tacos and received five containers for salsa. FIVE ? For 25 tacos. Would not recommend coming here based on the wait time. Ridiculous. I was very pleased here. The owners were nice and happy to serve. I loved the chips and salsa! The chips were perfectly crispy and served warm. The salsa was fresh and delicious. Decided to give them a second look and I'm glad I did. Cozy little place offering homemade food. Friendly attentive staff. Ordered my child a cheese quesadilla and she loved it. I came for the carne asada fries. The guac was fresh and it definitely has a higher avocado content than the guac you would get at Chipotle. My server checked on me, gave me plenty of attention and made sure I was fully satisfied and did not need anything else. Good service is hard to come by these days. I saw an irresistible photo of carne asada fries from this location when it used to be Ximapa. I've always passed by but never had a desire to visit until I saw the carne outside of fries as I was craving it one day. It is now under new ownership w/ a name change so no longer Ximapa, but all the menu items remain. This is a spot with service where they come to take your order so just sit down and enjoy. We tried the chicken mole plate, decent mole, but way overpriced. $28.00 for a mole plate and a drink is ridiculous. I can see for a fancy restaurant, but this is fast food. My wife got a burrito and drink, which cost an additional $25.00. That's $53.00 plus a tip. I strongly support local businesses, but not when they try to take advantage of their customers like this. I know things have gotten more expensive, but this is ridiculous. In my opinion, this has been a tough location for recent businesses. With prices like this, I don't see yours succeeding. The food is phenomenal! When you get to a restaurant and they claim to have authentic Mexican food you have to be careful, a lot of the time they are lying but not this spot. Everything they make here is just so good from the mole with chicken( thank god it wasn't boneless chicken breast) to their deep fried quesadillas made with masa. He gave solid recommendations as well as consistently checked on us to make sure we were taken care of. I ordered the carne asada nachos & was highly satisfied. It came with guacamole, beans & pico de gallo. The meat was cooked tenderly and was flavorful as well. The restaurant itself is tucked in the corner of the shopping center so it may be hard to find. Parking is limited so also be sure to keep that in mind. The interior is beautiful and reminds me of my abuela's cocina. Since this was a new spot in town, I wanted to come and check it out. First thing I ordered was the hardshell tacos one chicken one beef I thought it was pretty good. I really like the style and Way they put together the taco. I also ordered an à la cart carne asada taco because you know you always check out the beef wherever you go.
