I have had many of my events at La Parma over the years. This September we had my sons Communion. La Parma was the best. I called and they gave up plenty of room under the outdoor dining tent and they provided an extra table for kids to do crafts. The food was excellent. We ate until we hurt! The Bronzino Aqua Pazza - amazing along with the Sole stuffed with crab ... Everything from booking to dessert was excellent. During the pandemic celebrating is so hard and so much more cherished. La Parma made my sons day special which is all a parent could ask for. read more

I had occasion to order take out thur Eve from La Parma In Williston Park. I ordered a Caesar salad and stuffed shells - both family style. The order was picked by my son. We were bitterly disappointed as the salad was DRENCHED IN DRESSING AND SOGGY. Let me just say we only live about 5 min from restaurant. There were only 6 stuffed shells swimming in tons of sauce as well. This was not a good dining experience and I was very disappointed. In addition, the cost of these two items was over $50.00. Came here for a dinner for a party of 10(5 couples). The restaurant was busy on a Wednesday night, so things looked promising. The decor was dated and not the cleanest but I guess it kind of fits the charm of the place. The waiters are definitely old school with heavy Italian accents, they spoke so fast I could barely understand them. Here are the things we ordered: 2 calamari - fresh and pretty good 2 La Parma salads - it was okay but the table seemed to enjoy it 1 Penne a la vodka - good 1 Linguine with white clam sauce - good but where were the clams 1 Pasta with seafood sauce - the seafood was not fresh, definitely frozen 2 chicken parms - very small for the price 1 Eggplant parma - i've had better 1 Veal La Parma - ok 1 chicken scarp off the bone with sausage and peppers - not very good. 2 bottles of wine Here is why I gave it 2 stars. The food was very subpar. Everything was bland....did they run out of salt or something? Every dish needed some salt or additional seasoning. It makes me think that the head chef wasn't there and some sous chef was cooking off the recipes without tasting the food. Very disappointing. The waiters also speak very fast and will try to get you to over order, which happened to us. We could have done without 2 meat dishes since we had so much to take home. They even added sausage and peppers to the chicken scarp when I don't even recall being asked that. Or maybe I was when he was running through his sentences. Bottom line - the food here is not very good, don't ask the waiters if the amount of food is enough because they'll have you over order, and how is a chivas $13 a glass when a glenfiddich is $12? My favorite is the calamari arrabbiata, mussels in white wine sauce, chicken scarpariello off the bone special with pork chops added. Love the garlic it's loaded with it!!! Great tasting Italian food. Nice portions at a good price. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Had the gluten free pasta with seafood. Gluten free pasta was best I ever had. The red sauce was delicious with I guess whole roasted garlic cloves. Gave a sweet caramelized garlic flavor that was not over powering but gave an amazing aroma. My wife had a la Parma salad with shrimp. The balsamic vinaigrette was warm with artichoke and roasted peppers. Excellent. The fried calamari was good. Will return. read more

Food is ok. We had penne ala vodka, linguini with clam sauce, antipasta salad, chicken parm, steak pizziola, baked clams and broccoli Rob. The steak pizziola was the best thing we had. The rest of the food was just like going to any other generic pizzeria or Italian restaurant. Nothing special besides the place being family style so you get large portions of food which is only good if you can get multiple people to agree on what to eat. The parking lot is rediculously small with only like 12 spots in it but yet the place is filled with tables for partys of 4-10+ people. Luckily they have vallet parking to park your car. read more

I am a little disappointed after my experience at La Parma considering all of its reviews seemed so wonderful. I went with a party of 6 and we each had such mixed reviews. Half of the party enjoyed the food; the other half did not. The waiter was not seasoned. We had never been to an Italian place that didn't include a side of pasta with the main dish. So all of our main dishes of seafood,chicken parm, etc come out with no pasta and we were confused haha. The drinks were very weak--pina colada tasted virgin to me. The chicken parm came in a very thick tomato sauce that very acidic. 3 out of 6 people had stomach sickness the following day. Personally would never go back. read more

La Parma is the perfect place to go in Long Island if you're craving Italian food. (They have several locations.) The perfect family style restaurant, you will get high quality food at a reasonable price. The normal dishes are enough for at least two people (I can easily finish it) but if you're concerned about size or want more of another dish, you can always get a half order. Highly recommend the penne al la vodka and wood-grilled salmon. They also have tons of gluten-free options. Be sure to check out the wall by the bar with great pictures of celebrities! La Parma has excellent quality food and an extensive menu. When I went, I got the eggplant parm and thought it was great! I was, however, disappointed that my dish didn't automatically come with a pasta side- it was just the eggplant parm. While I can't be entirely upset as that is what I ordered, I felt a bit stiffed at the end of my meal (especially considering they're not cheap). Grew up in the area and recently moved back to Williston Park with husband (previously lived in Soho). For Valentine's my husband takes me here; both of us expecting a pleasant evening and good pasta. My husband called to make a reservation and "the place was booked heavily and they only had one opening for 9pm". When we arrived, we suspected something wrong when the place was almost empty (there were four other tables occupied). This is weird on a Saturday night at 9pm, especially on Valentine's. Food and service were nothing special. But not at all why I say never, ever go to La Parma. Husband orders pappardelle with Alfredo sauce. He asks for chicken and broccoli as well. Waiter says that would be extra. Since we have done this many times at other restaurants, we say that's ok. I order penne ala vodka (minus prosciutto and shrimp added). They sent one with prosciutto but corrected the order when I pointed it out. When the check came, my husband did a double take. He didn't want to ruin the night by discussing cost, but he asked me if he was mistaken at how much they charged us. The bill for a caesar salad, diet coke, and two pasta dishes came out to $87.50. He asked the waiter to explain that we ordered individual not family style dishes since we are only two people but the waiter explained that the added cost for the chicken, broccoli & shrimp added to the individual-sized pasta dishes. We asked to speak to the manager, the waiter came back with a message from the manager to knock off $10. We politely asked to speak to the manager because cost was not the issue, it's a matter of the outrageously embellished bill. Each pasta dish listed on the menu is approximately $15.... yet adding 8 shrimp to a dish inflated the price to $32. When we asked the manager about this, he replied that the added cost was correct and justified (but gave no real reason for justification)... same thing for the other dish... but this was $34. To be honest, he seemed a bit tongue-tied and flustered. When I replied that we have dined at plenty of other Italian restaurants in NYC and around the country and that we have never seen price inflation such as this, the manager was a bit rude and expected me to take him at his word. This bill was ridiculous. It's not that my husband and I are unwilling to spend money on a fine dining experience. But we don't accept getting completely ripped off either. To say that their menu is overpriced is one thing. But what they did tonight was far worse. They essentially doubled the cost of what other comparable restaurants offer for a similar meal and expected us to be satisfied by their lame justification. Interestingly, when I mentioned that I was disappointed with what they did and how they handled it and would have to write about it on yelp, the manager got upset and revoked the $10 discount they offered. Needless to say, that pretty much sums up how much they disrespect the customer. Take my advice, there are plenty of other great Italian restaurants in the area that offer better food and better service at a fair price. read more

The food on Sunday nite was not good enough for me anymore... it used to be better.. its become a neighborhood kinda place... the food is prepared ahead of time and they heat it up....For 100.00 a couple with a drink each.. You gotta do better in todays world to keep it fresh and Real.. The family style is good for many people... but your not getting fresh prepared food.. NONE of it !!! the Food was warm at best...!! Ok im confused. Ive been reading reviews of how great this place is. Its supposed to be family style, huge portions. So going into La Parma with those expectations I was expecting a meal along the lines of Carmines or Tony Dinapoli in NYC. I ordered food to go, 1 tray of baked clams, one tray of chicken Laparma, and one order of baked penne. The baked clams were ok, no better then any pizzeria eatery ive been into. Best baked clams I had were at bryant & Cooper steakhouse. The baked penne was not bad, but nothing to write home about. The biggest issue I had was with the chicken Laparma. When I opened the HUGE tray I was greated with two SMALL chicken cutlets in a shallow wine sauce. Thats it? For $25 and change you give me two small cutlets and call this a tray for up to four people? Again, im not sure why this place gets all these great reviews, to be honest you can get twice as much better tasting food from Vincents in Carle place during the week for less then half the price of laparma. And the portions there will leave you withe leftover for days! In summary, this IS NOT the best Italian food on long island, far from it! read more

Made the trip from Queens on a friends recommendation. Disappointing. Ordered Salmon which is what I order with no butter and plain. The reason for the one star is not so much the salmon was bad but the waiter insisted over and over I didn't know what I was talking about. I normally visit the la Parma in port Washington but went to this one with some folks and was not pleasantly surprised. It's a family style restaurant and the portions were smaller than expected but that was good because is was super salty so no one got to eat too much. We ordered a few things including chicken parmigiana which was made up of two small chicken breasts which I thought was skimpy since it was a "full size" order. They also had a nifty trick of camouflaging the small chicken by overextending the cheese. Think of a twin size bed (chicken) with a kind size blanket (cheese). read more

Based on a take out delivery this food was terrible. I knew something was wrong when my eggplant parmesan, penne with tomato sauce, and zucchini sticks took 15 min. Tasteless, soggy, over salted slop, and practically inedible. Called up Tony (manager) agreed to give money back for eggplant, but we couldn't really eat any of it. My guess is they microwave it because that's what it seemed like. Place is always crowded so maybe sit down guests actually get a fresh meal. read more

I was there last week for dinner and my abducted favorite meal is chicken scarparello on the bone. Needless to say when I looked at the menu there it was except it did not have the sausage onions and peppers that I normally expect. When I asked the waiter about this he said" That. is extra it is Companelo." I have never had a scarperello without the sausage peppers and onions on the plate and certainly not at an $16.75 extra cost. Place has gone down hill. I use to eat here regularly, and the food used to be reliable. Now, not so much. Food is VERY pedestrian, and the "specials" are not so special - just a doctored version of the regular menu with a whopping price tag. About the only thing I enjoyed recently was the bread. He came back 20 minutes later and I ordered a large order of chicken francese and what i got wasnt a large order it had 3 pieces of chicken which was more like a small order. I also ordered spinach which was a full order. The price i was charged for 3 pieces of chicken wasnt very nice, I used to come here years ago, The portions have reduced and your overcharging people. Ordered delivery from seamless. Ordered "Family Style" veal parmigiana and baked penne with ricotta. Quality of the food was good but very small the veal portion was Embarrassing to serve (2 pieces). I called the restaurant which I visited many times in the past to explain that the portion was only slightly larger than the single portion I had at the restaurant. We've been to this restaurant a few times, always for birthday parties. I'm assuming its because the family style is perfect for gatherings and celebrations. I will try and come back for a more intimate meal. The private room upstairs is really big and the restaurant knows how to serve portions big enough for even the biggest families. All the fishes and muscles are very fresh and garlicky, Calamari was great. I love the penne ala vodka, and the chicken francaise is delicious. The family style is perfect for those of us who enjoy good portions. I also tried the broccoli rabe with garlic and oil, it was very good but a bit too oily. But the rest was awesome, Chicken parm, Linguine with white clam sauce, and a seafood medley that was even better then expected. The negatives: Caesar salad had way too many anchovies and the waitstaff even though super polite and attentive, are a bit rushed and can make mistakes. The desserts were good and I'll definitely keep them in mind if I'm throwing a big party myself. Had dinner on Saturday night 10/22/2016 with friends (5 couples in total) to celebrate an anniversary. I have not dined here is several years so i was wondering if food was still as good as I remember. In short, it was not, I was so underwhelmed. My reasons for the 2 stars are as follows: Decor - they have not changed the carpets in like 10 years, old and smelly Service - waiters were in hurry and didnt completely understand our orders, they kept rushing us and trying to push us to order more. For each course ordered, we had to go over it at least twice. Food - bland. To started, we ordered ceasar salad, it was dry and tasteless, for me not enough creamy dressing, my wife thought otherwsie, we disagreed. Appetizer round, fried calamari, baked clams, stuffed mushrooms and mussels in marinara. Overall calamari not fresh, clams and stuffed mushrooms were ok and the mussels were terrible drenched in a tomatoe sauce. The rest of the table seemed to enjoy it, but heck what do they know, they dont even cook. For entrees, we had veal parm (i didnt try it so no comment), Veal Parma, Seafood pasta fra diavolo and chicken franchese. The veal parma was terrible, veal was ruberry, certainly overcooked and probably not fresh, chicken was ok and pasta, bland bland bland, or and the forget to make the fra diavolo sauce spicy so sans diavolo. Our table ordered a few things and most people seemed to like it, for my wife and I we ordered Mt. Vesuvius, which is basically a brownie vanilla ice cream sunday with lots of wip creams. The minute it arrived I could smell it was heated in the microwave way to long, when i dug in to get a piece, the brownie wouldnt break off, it was hard as a rock. I finaly broke off a piece and it was terrible, they apparantly over cooked the brownie when the batch was initally made and then nuked it to get it soft and warm to serve, what a major fail. Up until that point, i had not said any negative comments except quitely to my wife so i would not ruin the celebatory dinner. That was the last straw i called over the waiter complained pretty loudly how terrible the desert was and what i thought they did to prepare so that the nearby by manager would hear it, The result, the waiter said ok and the manager never came. La Parma, will never see my again, do yourself a favor save your money, there are plenty of family styly restaurants around go give them a try. Trust me, I know italian food, my wife and I are both first generation Italian-Americans who cook dinner most nights so when we go out, we try to go to great restaurants so we can enjoy great food and avoid cleaning dishes. I would rather clean and have a home cooked meal than eat at La Parma. read more
