I attempted to give this restaurant another chance, but for some reason, nothing ever seems to improve. Today, my wife and I sat at the bar and were greeted by a bartender who looked like she had just lost her best friend. She appeared rude and completely unwelcoming. After taking our order, she walked away to chat with her friends, laughing and joking around while we repeatedly tried to get her attention with no success. At no point did she check on us or even ask if I wanted another drink. People go to restaurants not only for the food, but also to enjoy the atmosphere and the service. I have been to la Parilla many times in the past. This was meant to be a quick dinner before my Zumba class. I was able to order , receive my food and eat within a 35 minute time frame. Server was attentive, food came out fast and the server actually recommended this dish after she saw me looking at the next tables order. I normally ALWAYS get the street tacos, but this might just be my new favorite dish. The skirt steak was ordered medium and was seasoned to perfection and came out sizzling hot. Steak was tender, might be the best skirt I have ever had at a Mexican restaurant. We arrived at 8:22pm after a school ball game on Taco Tuesday. La Parrilla closes at 10. Our chimichangas were not fried, because they probably already shut down the oil pit. They should've told us and given us the opportunity to order something else, instead of bringing us a burrito shaped like a chimichanga, camouflaged in cheese sauce. They were not good. We didn't dare send them back, because we all know what happens if you do that. The strawberry/lime margarita that I ordered was just strawberry, but very good. Quality of service has went down completely. I ordered a 32 oz margaritas they kept trying to force a 20 oz on me. I told them know I ordered a 32 oz. So they pour it in a 32 oz jar and add ice on it. I drank it in 2 seconds due to it just being ice. Update Bar manager said I was going to pay for the margarita regardless. This mexican restaurant was horrible. me and my mother went there and It was 15 minutes to get a table, and then the service was all right. I would say that the chips in queso, was it was all right, it wasn't too crazy. And then we order tacos, and a quesadilla, and I ordered a drink from a bar and it was too sweet. It was like sweeter than a donut. The workers were nice, but the food wasn't honestly.I wouldn't give the food a zero and the service ate 2 only because they were nice. They were chill. They were calm, energetic, more talkative. As soon as we tasted the food, we just spitted it out because it wasn't worth the eating. I wish we could have just dipped out of the restaurant and said say bye, bye, but we couldn't so we just ate it and then when we got home, we just threw it out because it was not that great for my investment. The food and drinks came out so fast and we were treated amazing!!! Serving 25 people with 10 kids is not an easy task and we definitely had them running back and forth!!! The food was good but we ordered 3 large margaritas which was $18 a piece , they weren't good and when they brought the check there was an automatic %15 tip added on the check which wasn't told to us before hand and was told that they can't take it off and there was still a tip Line on the receipt . I absolutely love love love this place. My siblings and I meet here quite frequently for good times and laughs. The fiesta rice is to die for (any variation of it), along with the table side guacamole (I always order it with extra limes). Also the black diamond margarita is bombs!!!!
