I did not have anything super specific done with my hair but I was satisfied with the work she did. Sharol was very nice, helpful, and she listened to what I wanted. I came in with a photo of what I wanted. My hair was already bleached out. My hair doesn't look anything like what I asked for. I booked an appointment to fix it and was told what I needed to get the color I wanted. When I went back for the correction I was told they couldn't put anymore bleach in my hair because it had already been processed. I was charged the same amount I was quoted even without the bleach... I asked that they at least blend my roots so I didn't have a hard line They just made the blonde a little more of an ashy blonde. They didn't even blend my roots.... I have been looking for a new colorist/stylist and tried out Sharol bc found a Groupon. I was tired of trying new stylists and them doing sub par. So tried Groupon bc at least if it was not good, I would have gotten a deal. But, it was fantastic & Sharol exceeded my expectations! She did a great job on my color, cut and style. I will now continue to have her as my stylist. My hair was so bad when I went it in too bc it has been forever. I went from an off light reddish brown to gorgeous blonde balayage. The salon was beautiful too and service was great. I would recommend Sharol and this Salon in a heartbeat. Wanted to try a new stylist closer to where I live and on a budget too so I tried searching on Groupon. Chanced upon a great hair deal - cut, style and balayage - so I didn't hesitate to buy it. The salon is located in the Heights and is about a 3 minute drive from my place, also in the Heights. The hair deal is only with stylist Sharol and what better way to try it - my birthday! It was easy to schedule with them and they also sent out reminders thru text. I always am on time with my appointments. However, I had to wait about 30 minutes prior to me being seen. When i sat on the seat, we discussed the hair I wanted out from an inspiration photo. I wanted it cut mid-length and color to stay more on my natural color - which is dark brown. The process took about four hours to finish. I was happy with the length but when i finally saw the color after the toner, i was quite sad that it was different from what I asked - which was to stay more on my natural color. I even showed a picture of what i wanted. Anyway, I just accepted it because I don't want further damage to my hair, plus it was my birthday and was hurrying to a dinner. Maybe, i'll try out this hue for until spring comes. I love the cut though - just not really a fan of light colors anymore. The styling was cute. I feel more my age. And i feel my hair is lighter and bouncier. The next day, i washed my hair just to see how it is styled straight. I saw some pieces weren't cut evenly so I had to call the salon right away and I was accommodated same day to get it fixed. I would have given it a solid 5 stars because she was nice and the distance, plus the cut and style - but then it wasn't the color i really wanted and that I had to return the next day to get some pieces fixed. Horrible customer service. The lack of disconnect and communication between their team is ridiculous. I had scheduled an appointment 3 weeks in advanced using a Groupon only for them to tell me the person who I had it scheduled with no longer works there. I received no call or message to let me know or try to reschedule. Although they stated a person called someone they FAILED to reach me. I traveled 40 mins, got a babysitter, only to be turned away. This is absolutely ridiculous. What a shame, definitely don't recommend. read more

I think my hair turned out pretty well. Only thing I wish was that the groupon was more explicit about the additional fees. I didn't know I was going to have to pay $15 per extra bowl of bleach. Came here for a balayage with Kaitlyn. I showed her 2-3 pics of the shade of red I wanted, but it turned out A LOT MORE RED than I had anticipated. She offered to adjust the color, but I was running short of time so I just let it be. She did a wonderful job of keeping me comfortable during the 4+ hours at the salon and I loved her styling job of curls. They held better than curls I've gotten at any other salon. I recently got engaged and thought we would do a quick wedding so I scheduled my appointment with the lady I had before. I was so nervous because I knew I was getting married soon so if they were messed up I was screwed. She greeted me fine and got right too it.. after the first strip I could tell something was wrong because my eye were tearing up uncontrollably. She kept a going more focused on everyone that's as coming into the room. By this point I'm terrified! I continue and she hands me the mirror. I'm shocked that my eyebrows are fucking gone!!!! I tell her looks good, yup love them thank you bye, quickly pay and get out where I cry to my fiancée that my eye brows are ruined!! She had the audacity to tell me I needed them tinted (mind you the Redken professionals who train people just did them, I tell her no I just had them done), then he said oh well you could use some micro blading or whatever that tattoo service is I'm like no!! I have thick eyebrows I just came in to shape them up. I shit you not I hav nubs for brows and will probably have to push my wedding back just to let them grow.. will never go again. Beware!!!! This is a follow up review, since it's the second time for another awesome experience with Manuela. She did color this time, it came out so well done! I told her I did not want to pick a color from the cart, instead trusted her to pick whatever made it so that it added light to my face and spread it so it wouldn't change the overall tone of my very dark hair. I hadn't made it into a salon over 2 years every time I do my hair is messed up but I needed it so bad for our vacation next week and she did not disappoint. I asked for deep layers and sharp v cut because my hairs heavy and gives headaches wanted it to feel lighter, she did everything perfectly that's a first for me usually I leave a salon feeling regret, today I left feeling myself okurrr lol. Not only that but I was welcomed and was offered water right away. I got so many compliments in the salon as well as after wards to even people just staring. Definitely a great self esteem boost to say the least. Came here by chance when I thought I was messaging another salon and they were super courteous with setting up my appointment. I had Gabriella who was an absolute doll! I'm an anxious person by nature and have a hard time talking sometimes but I felt like I was just hanging out with a friend. She gave me great advice on what direction to go with my hair and she kept my hairs health in mind as well and gave me creative ideas to keep my hair from feeling bland. I'd been to one other salon in Houston that charged me 250 just to bleach my hair but here I had color remover, bleach and color and toner put on and spent about 8 hours there and with the 20% first time discount I only paid $280, my mind was blown! I went in wanting to cut a good chunk of hair since I'm nine months pregnant and didn't want to deal with it post partum. From the moment I went in I should've known it wouldn't be good. I walked in and the hairstylist immediately started rubbing on my belly, that's a HUGE NO. It is my first time here and don't know her enough for her to touch my belly. Then she sits me down on the chair and we talk about the haircut I showed her a picture of what I wanted and physically showed her how short I wanted my hair. She then proceeds to say in Spanish "you look so tired one eye is bigger than the other" umm I have a lazy eye but ok. I guess she hadn't noticed but there's no way. Should've walked out at that point to be honest. Before washing my hair she said she would cut some of my hair and she just went straight through my hair without really measuring anything. We then walk over to get my hair washed and back to the chair. She then asked what I was naming my baby and I told her and she once again was rude and said "oh no, they're going to make fun of him" what?! Who says that to someone. She then starts cutting my hair and I immediately tell her it's too short. She continues to reassure me and says that the picture shows shorter hair so trusted her since my hair is curly and can be tricky. I mean I physically showed her and a picture. Once She's done she begins to blow dry my hair. She has me away from the mirror I ask her to turn me around and I am Immediately shocked because it's not what I wanted. See pictures below. She did feel bad and did not charge me. But before she just cut my hair she should've double checked. I've always had hair dressers show me again before cutting away. If she had questions or blame me for not "zooming in" to the picture she should've asked. That means she wasn't 100% sure of what I wanted. The amount of times she unprofessional was more than I should've allowed. I'm genuinely not a rude person and I clearly I put up with way too much then to leave with a haircut that I didn't want ugh. read more

I've only been once, so this review is a little premature, but I will certainly be back. The salon is located in the Heights at Yale and 14th. The southwestern decor is beautiful and very relaxing. I received a brow wax from Adrianna. I'm very pleased with the results; she does some of the best shaping I've ever seen. She did it very quickly as well; it seemed she had less application-and-pull than the places I have normally gone before. The staff is the friendliest and most personable that I've encountered in a salon. I felt like it was a neighborhood place. The spa offers a full line of services, including massage, facials, and hair styling. Their prices are very reasonable as well. Sometimes folks use skincare products that make their skin too sensitive for waxing. If that's you, get Adriana to tweeze and shape them. My eyebrows are sparse and grow slowly, but I still get her to maintain them and she does an amazing job! Tracy gives a superb pedicure! She is so thorough with shaping and cuticle cleanup. Was attending a convention at a nearby hotel which had no salon. I went through some searches and found this place. After being up all night packing and then the usual franticness associated with getting to the airport, then the airport itself, and finally arriving at your hotel I needed a bit of a refresher. I got a facial and hot stone massage. Wonderful attentiveness and care and a very friendly atmosphere. Wine and snacks were readily available, complementary, and the best thing was the price for both of these services was easily 1/2 of what one would pay for just one service at a hotel spa. I found out about La Paz through Groupon (I had bought the 3 brazilian waxes/ $99) and I was very surprised at how great of a job they do. I've gone twice now and have had the same Esthetician (I cannot remember her name, but I feel like she might be the only one). She was very friendly, respectful, and made the whole experience as relaxing as it can be. I've only gone to one other place (don't want to name names, but it is a chain that a lot of people go to) and WOW this was so much less painful than that! She did a very thorough job. I think they almost always have some sort of Groupon going on...but even without a coupon, this place does a great job for half the price of most other places!
