Visited LA Prime to celebrate Valentines Day and anniversary with my wife and this was the absolute perfect spot to celebrate. To start, you'll have to park at The Westin Bonaventure Hotel, valet parking only it seems, make your way to the correct elevators (valet staff can guide you) and go up to the 35th floor to a amazing city view of Los Angeles. One gimmick my wife and I noticed is that the lower part of the restaurant has a slow rotating mechanism so you're enjoying your meal with a different view as it goes. Very romantic vibes overall, the lighting makes it even better. We were immediately seated and guided to our seats as we checked in, reservation is a must here to avoid any wait times. We had such a nice view of the LA Skyline which was perfect for the romantic vibes. Staff here is great. They're very professional, clean, quick, and very attentive. Our order was taking quickly and food came out in a timely manner as well. As it was Valentines Day, they had a Valentines special. Order any of the specials and you'll received a glass of complimentary champagne, which is exactly what we did to spice up the evening. To start the meal, we were handed complimentary breads, 2x raisin breads, 2x breadsticks, both were great starters but I do prefer the regular kinds of breads. --WHAT WE ORDERED-- -- Macaroni and Vermont White Cheddar Cheese Au Gratin -- Underrated side dish, I would say this is one of the best side dishes to pair with your steak dish. The taste of fresh mac n cheese gives you that melting feel after a bite of your steak piece, very much a compliment to your dishes overall. Portions are big, perfect to be a shareable dish. There's some cheese pull to this dish which makes the dish even prettier. Presentation is top notch even for a mac n cheese type dish. Highly recommend. 10/10 -- New York Strip Steak -- Part of the Valentines Day menu, which is a bit less portion than the original one on the standard menu. Overall, a very well made strip as I had it cooked medium rare, and it was cooked to perfection. It was very easy to cut, each bite was very tender and doesn't require much chewing. It's pretty standard presentation that a steak dish shows. I found that there's plenty of veggies that comes with the steak, kind of overwhelming but the main star is the steak itself. 9/10 -- Bone In Short Rib (16 oz) -- I'd say this was the star of the meal. Comes with a side of mash potatoes, it was a amazing mix with the short rib itself. The meat came off the bone without even touching it. It was cooked to perfection and it looks as good as it taste. Each bite was full of flavor to the point where I wanted to order another one. 10000/10, amazing, highly recommend. To conclude the meal, our server brought out a surprise dessert to celebrate our anniversary. Don't know the name of the dessert but it was full chocolate. It was quite the sweet treat to end this amazing dinner. A unique dinner overseeing the skylines of LA, full of memories and it was amazing to celebrate with LA Prime. One of the top spots to celebrate any special occasion.

My husband and I enjoyed an amazing dinner at LA Prime Steakhouse. We booked our reservation using OpenTable and were seated immediately upon arrival. From our table, we had a stunning view of the entire city, as we were on the 35th floor. The restaurant has an upscale and sophisticated ambiance that is perfect for date nights. To start off our dinner, we received a warm bread basket with a side of butter. Then the dishes we ordered were all served at the same time. The star of the night was the bone in short rib with port butter sauce and root vegetable puree. It was super delicious and beautifully presented. I loved the tenderness of the meat, which easily slid off the bone. Another noteworthy entree is the Manhattan cut NY Steak with potato fondant, charred rapini, and bordelaise sauce. The steak was cooked at a perfect medium rare. It was savory, juicy, and so full of flavor. On the side, we had the five cheese macaroni and cheese au gratin. This was very rich and creamy, making it a great complement to our entrees. My favorite part of this side dish was the crispy golden top layer from being baked. To conclude the meal, we were surprised with a delectable, gooey chocolate dessert with berries. The dessert even included a candle and "happy anniversary" message because we mentioned that it was our anniversary in the reservation. I am very appreciative to have received this and it was the perfect way to end our dinner. The menu at this restaurant changes every now and then, so certain dishes may not be available depending on when you visit. For special occasions, they may have a special menu in addition to the regular menu. Parking is valet only (no self-parking) in an underground lot. This restaurant does give parking validation, but you'll still end up having to pay a small charge.

Spectacular old-fashioned customer service from my and Husband's Waiter Mark! His hospitality and genuine kindness are unmatched! Also, the food from all Chefs including Melanie are 5-Star of excellence! This was our Wedding Anniversary dinner. Thank you so very much for such a romantic experience for us both! ‍

    What a breath taking view.

We came here for a romantic date night before our LA Phil concert. The server quickly took us to our table with a spectacular view. We ordered the Dine LA menu. All the servers are very attentive. The restaurants a very luxury and fancy vibe. The night view of LA gave it a mesmerizing feel. For starter, I ordered the lobster bisque. The soup is so rich and bold in taste. There are generous chunks of lobster. A great blend of cream/butter and seasoning. It paired perfectly with the sourdough warm bread with butter. For entree, I had the 8 oz.fillet which came with mash potatoes and grilled asparagus. I have never had such an amazing piece of steak. Very well seasoned. Crusty on the outside and crazily tender inside. For dessert, I had the chocolate mousse pate with berries sauce. The dessert is creamy, not too sweet and has some crispy in part of the mousse. No doubt, I finished it all! . Such an amazing restaurant. I hope you can give it a try! Top notch restaurant.

11-30-2025 LA Prime is amazing. The views, service, atmosphere, and staff are fantastic. The food is so delicious and fresh. HOT STARTER I had the traditional escargot in shell with maître d'hôtel butter. The butter flavor is so delicious. It is butter mixed with finely chopped parsley, lemon juice, and garlic. I love escargot, and many high-end restaurants in Los Angeles don't serve it. So when I saw LA Prime, I was like, " Oh man, I am getting that and I'm glad I did. Signature Steaks For the signature steaks, I got the 10-ounce filet mignon au poivre, brandy peppercorn sauce. I got it rare. Omg that was so delicious. The steak is so tender it melts in your mouth. The au poivre sauce was tasty. It adds flavors to the steak. It is made with crushed peppercorns, cream, and brandy, adding a bold and spicy kick to your dish. Sides For the sides, I got almost everything. The crispy Brussels sprouts with sage, hazelnuts, preserved lemon, and Parmesan. The Yukon gold-loaded mashed potatoes, smoked bacon, cheddar, and callions. The baby spinach in Parmesan cream sauce. The macaroni and Vermont white cheddar cheese au gratin, and the farm-fresh asparagus spears with Hollandaise sauce. Dessert I got the crème brûlée. It was so rich and creamy. The caramelized sugar on top was so good. You can actually crack it. It was delicious. Drinks They have a lot of drink options. They have a wide variety of wines.

I think one of the most beautiful views of Los Angeles with one of the best cuisines too. We usually go there for my birthday or our anniversary, but this time we went to celebrate our group of friends from work... well, it was a pleasure!!! Our servers and friends Norma and Rafael and our chefs the su-chef Anselmo and the chef it was a Royal treatment!!! They all served 11 people and made us feel special... I had my usual onion soup and as the main, steak Au Poivre, my wife had the Shrimp scampi and a couple of side dishes and our beloved server Norma ordered Some Mexican Buñuelos for us... a unique night full of memories told and camaraderie!! Happy Holidays to everybody!!!

We got stuck in some pre LA Marathon traffic and were about 1/2 an hour late for our reservation. Thankfully they were still able to accommodate us. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and hopefully not the last. Service was excellent from the hostess who adjusted our reservation and sat us to our server who promptly greeted us with a smile and menus. The view was great and the restaurant was so peaceful. I'm used to having to practically shout over loud raucous kitchen noise and other guests. Not here. It was so nice to relax and talk at a normal volume. We went the senior citizen route and shared filet minot and risotto because we had an event afterwards and would not be able to take leftovers. That was a good decision on our part because the servings were generous. Also had a delicious dirty martini and red wine. Perfect! Look forward to returning!

Staying in the Westin for work and heard about this rooftop restaurant from my Lyft. Stopped here by myself around 6pm on Sat. and got sweated quickly. I got a merlot paired with their signature 24 oz Delmonico Ribeye and a side of roasted Brussels sprouts. The steak was actually so good .. probably one of the best I've ever had. It was pretty fatty but not in a greasy way; definitely more melt-in-your-mouth style. The Brussels sprouts were nice and crispy but also very flavorful like they were cooked in some pork fat. I could only finish about half by myself because the portions are also GIGANTIC. Same for the chocolate cake dessert which was a HUGE but delicious slice. Rare to see a place actually worth the high price point. Service was also amazing and very friendly. The views are tough to beat!

Such an amazing restaurant! The views are fantastic, exceptional service, and the food-wow! I love that they've taken the idea of the stuffy cold seafood tower and give you a warm option on a platter. It tastes so much better (how can you go wrong with drawn butter?!) and is way easier to navigate. They have an impeccable and expansive wine list. We had a great ZD Cabernet. The crab cake, steak tartar and Hamachi crudo were all excellent appetizers, the steak and salmon entrees were delicious, and the desserts were next level! This is a foodies paradise. Worth the drive if you are not staying downtown or just stay at the Bonaventure and take the elevator!

This restaurant has been around for years and has a very old-school vibe. We stopped by randomly and found it quite interesting. The service was nice--there was a lady who reminded me of an aunty, talking a lot but very sweet, so you couldn't be annoyed. The waiters are all older and genuinely kind; it's clear they work very hard. The food was okay. The mac and cheese was a bit grainy, the steak was seasoned perfectly but overcooked (though the kitchen happily remade it), and the Brussels sprouts were burnt. Ceaser salad was good but could have been chopped or plated better. Honestly, this place has a lot of potential--the kitchen just needs to step up. The ambiance is classic and charming.

Excellent food. The manager Duke took very good care of my family and I. We went for my daughters 16th birthday and the whole time they made not just her feel special but my whole family. Our server mark was amazing!!!! The restaurant is always super clean and well taken care of. If you're a firs timer order the cream corn! The streak are so good but don't miss out on their chicken also! The beet salad is also soo good! Thank you Duke and Mark aka mario!

Our server was great and accommodating. We tried the Dine LA menu. The Filet Minon wasn't great unfortunately. It was 2 thin slices of meat on top of each other. I ordered medium but got well-done. The rib-eye was huge and delicious. Our table had a good view of downtown.

Had to work over the weekend and got lodging at the Bonaventure Hotel. Of course we had to try Prime LA. Our first time here, was told that it's a steakhouse, but we were in the mood for seafood. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. The view was amazing. The atmosphere was good but too quiet, would have been better with some music in the background.

Can we do a party of at least 13 people?

It's a pretty open space and they have a private room as well.

Any kids menu? Can we share dishes?

There isn't a kid's menu. But I had my boys split a steak and ordered sides as everything is a la carte

    What is the Cork fee?

    $40.

As of January 2022 do children above 5 need to be vaccinated to attend?

    Is there free bread?

Yes. It gets even better though they serve pretzel bread too. All for 0 cents well priced into your bill already trust me but yes there's no line charge on your bill

Are they requiring vaccination cards when dining here?

Yes they are. Or you can show a negative pcr test taken within 3 days

Is this place open? And if they are what days?

May 6 will be the first day of reopen.

Is this restaurant good for a company sit down dinner? Approx 20ppl

Are all the seats by the window and how much should I expect to spend for my wife and I?

All the tables are by the window but they also have booths. If you request a window seat you will get it, I've been going there for years and always get a window seat. Price depends.. My wife always gets their filet minion and I get a larger cut of…

How much could I expect to spend for my girlfriends birthday here?

About $120, I took my wife and daughter and we spent $170.

I'm confused is this a different place than the rotating Westin Bonaventure restaurant?

The restaurant doesn't rotate but the cocktail lounge does rotate. The cocktail lounge is located about 1 floor down from LA Prime. There are stairs you can take in the restaurant that will lead you down to the rotating lounge. Hope this helps!

    What's the dress code?

I don't think they enforce a dress code. Some where dressed up and some had on jeans and tennis shoes.

How is the price there? Do they have fixed price?

It's comparable to Ruth's Chris, Morton's or Fleming's, which is to say pricey. About $60.00/person before drinks and appetizers and dessert. There was a price fixe menu for Valentine's day and it was $150.00/person without tip. With drinks and tip,…

What is the average amount people spend at this restaurant? I'm going with my boyfriend, and we're not planning to drink any alcohol.

I would say it depends on what steak you're getting but average $95, no alcohol.

    Should guests be 21+?

No. However, you do have to be mature. There are people dining here who want a nice, quiet dinner or lunch out.

Do I have to make a reservation for dinner?

If you go earlier than the normal crowd (they are close to Ahmanson, Disney Center, Staples, etc.) like 5 - 5:30 your wait should be short or not at all. If that isn't possible, than definitely make a reservation.

    What is the age requirement?

They have a bar area that rotates slowly for a full view of the city. This area is not OK for under 21. The remainder (larger part) has no age restriction.

Is there age limit after a certain hour in restraint to have dinner?

I don't think so. Why don't you call the Restaurant.

California offered an immediate rush of light, space, and possibility. My memory is that when I turned my phone back on at LAX, my friend messaged to say he'd gotten us the hookup at Bestia. That dinner belongs to a chapter in which I spent considerable time in California and felt energized by the contrast with New York. My friend is highly discerning, with impeccable taste in food, design, and culture. He notices details most people miss, so when a place impresses him, I pay attention. From the moment I saw his message, I knew the reservation meant something. Even before we entered, Bestia's character was evident. Faded lettering crossed the corrugated metal facade, while brick walls and old loading doors preserved the warehouse's industrial history. Inside, enormous windows and garage doors brought light into a room shaped by glass, exposed ductwork, and warm amber pendants. When I fantasize about living in a loft, many of the attributes I picture are here, especially the incredible windows and connection to the street. Inside the restaurant, the dining room achieved a combination I rarely encounter. It had the table density and collective buzz of a great New York restaurant, but within a large, design-forward space closer in scale to something found in Chicago. New York creates energy through tight rooms, while Chicago excels at ambitious spaces with strong architectural identities. Bestia captured both advantages and made its considerable footprint feel alive and unified. We sat shoulder to shoulder at a pale stone counter facing the open kitchen. Golden era hip hop was playing, and A Tribe Called Quest still rings a very specific bell. I ordered the squid ink pasta, and it was exquisite, with enough depth and precision to command attention amid everything happening around us. We also spotted an unmistakably A-list celebrity, whom I will leave unnamed, making the night feel quintessentially Los Angeles. During that period, I often stayed at the Ace Hotel downtown, and the Arts District felt vibrant, raw, and full of possibility. The proximity to Skid Row could be deeply jarring, with severe hardship existing beside ambitious development and expensive restaurants. That contrast kept the neighborhood from feeling like a neat story of urban renewal, even as Bestia seemed to anchor its evolution. The warehouses and loading docks gave the area a character that no new development could convincingly recreate. Nearby, I also remember the American Apparel complex during its demise and the rise of impossibly cool Los Angeles designer John Elliott. His Escobar sweatpants and Villain hoodie helped define the kit of that moment; loyalists will understand. Los Angeles is a fickle city, drawn toward whatever is new and shiny, which makes Bestia's longevity especially impressive. Scene without substance is plastic, and Bestia earned its electricity through exceptional cooking, assured service, and a remarkable space; if I lived in Los Angeles, this would be one of the places I'd rely on whenever I wanted to impress someone. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the world.

Excellent beers on tap for $5-$6 and even an espresso martini for like $14. Chicken sandwich was always on point and also a big fan of the Morrison Trio. Owner was always pleasant and the servers were top notch. I never had an item on the menu that was not delicious. And I tried just about everything on their rotating happy hour menu. I remember they were selling $10 Don Julio 1942 shots one time because it was Cinco de Mayo week. Great times and memories made at this restaurant. Holiday decor was always great to see especially during Halloween. A true loss. Bring it back please! If there are any Dodgers fans out there with a good pregame spot, please reply with recommendations seeing how I do not have one anymore.

The staff was friendly and very attentive. The wings and drinks themselves were super flavorful and I thought I would have more time to enjoy and come back to visit while in town. My partner also tried their burger and fries and decided to stop by the restaurant only to find out they closed a couple of months ago. It was worth the visit when we went there back in December.z The place was cute and it felt comfy.
