If your looking for a solid Steakhouse in LA, don't look any further. This place is legit and serving some great food. The ambiance in here is also incredible-dark, laid back, great vibe. Cant wait to come back and sit at the bar next time! However this past time I stopped by for dinner around 6pm and got seated immediately. Our hostess and waiter were great and very helpful. My server reccomended the filet mignon and decided to try that and it was such a good cut of meat. Nice extensive menu. A bit on the higher end considering location but it's worth it. You will find valet parking on site but keep in mind they don't except card, cash only. Overall, we will be back again! Thanks Taylor's steakhouse for the great dinner and hospitality. Till next time.

Est. 1953- Opened by 'Horse' Tex Taylor in 1953, Taylor's is a classic American steakhouse. Originally known as Taylor's Tavern, the Steakhouse has been in this current location since 1971. This is my first visit here, but I am familiar with the second Taylor's location in La Cañada (which is also very nice). We started off with the wedge salad, a cup of French Onion Soup and the Cheese Bread. The salad was very good, as was the bread. The french onion soup was also tasty, but, quite standard. We then ordered the Prime Rib (Dinner Cut) and the Filet Mignon. Both were nicely seasoned and perfectly cooked. The side of Creamed Spinach was lightly creamed and excellent. The service was on point, helpful and friendly. There is a good size bar downstairs, and a smaller one upstairs. This place has a lot of character and it looks like it's older than it actually is. The vibe here is excellent (If it's good enough for Bosh, it's good enough for me). The only downside is the parking. There is a small valet lot which will turn you away if they're full. Other than that, street parking is almost non-existent. Regardless, Taylor's has the meat and the vibe. It should be required dining for all Angelenos.

On my mission to try all the classic steakhouses in LA, Taylor's was definitely on the list. An early summer evening in Koreatown with a friend sounded perfect. The neighborhood, unfortunately, was filthy. Not the restaurant's fault but a less than stellar start. At least keep the front sidewalk presentable. The restaurant was packed yet not too noisy. We sat at the bar as is our preference and I ordered a dirty martini which wasn't even lightly soiled after repeating myself to the bartender three times. I started with the Molly Dinner Salad which was fine; hard to mess that up. Sides were garlic spinach and sautéed mushrooms (the website requests "collard shirts for men" but there were none on the menu). For my entree I asked our waiter for the Filet Oscar with a medium rare Spencer ribeye instead, saying I would pay any difference in the cut; the Filet Oscar meal comes with baked potato, crab meat, asparagus, béarnaise. After flipping menu pages around like a used car salesman, the waiter deemed it appropriate to give me the ribeye and charge me additionally (about $20) for the baked potato and the Oscar toppings. Whatever, my guy. After the dirty martini snafu I was losing hope with Taylor's service and on my first visit I like to let an establishment show their true colors. The vegetable sides and baked potato were as expected but the steak not so much. The beef was mealy and the crab was definitely not fresh with bits of shell in it. My dining companion had the prime rib and was happy with the meal. A choice of dry-looking desserts was presented and we declined. Overall, I was disappointed with my first experience at Taylor's and don't plan to return. I hope they were simply having an off night. For a $100+ dinner plus a generous tip, it's difficult to justify repeating the visit.

Taylor's is definitely that old school steakhouse vibes. They remain true to the classic decor and once you step in you can see why Taylor's is a LA staple. I got reservations for 3 but one had to drop but Taylor's accommodated us on the fly no problem. I did my research as any true foodie / Yelper would. I was eyeing the Culotte Steak. But after sitting down and arguing with my self that I haven't had a good prime rib in a while I decided to go with that. Molly's Salad I believe it's called is a classic basic no frills wedge. I got the 'full' thinking it was going to be on the larger size but this was easily manageable to one person. No fancy shmancy here. Very light and refreshing. Friend oredered the Sea of Cortez Shrimp Cocktail. Delicious. The horseradish was brutal and packs that punch. Shrimp were fresh and delicious. I opted for the thick cut as I was open to sharing this as well as being hungry. Well this prime rib was im guessing around the 20oz mark. Very large. Perfectly seasoned. Au jus on the bottom of the plate was good. The creamed spinach was amazing. I gave my baked potato away and opted for sautéed shrooms. (Keeping it keto) The beef was amazing. The spinach was well balanced and not soggy just held up perfectly. I could have had some butter or something else within the mushrooms but they were good. Oh we also got a side of the broccoli w hollandaise. I would pass on this unless you really want it. The amount of broccoli is very minimal. Very fresh though. All in all this was a great meal. I'm glad we went to Taylor's. PS Our waitress was very nice and attentive.

DO NOT GO HERE! I repeat don't go. You will regrese going Terrible food. Over priced The manager Ivy is so rude and unwelcoming. They should close this place down. The worst experience in a very long time at a recent. I don't think Ive ever written such a long review. Just want to save you the heartache!

Been here twice without reservations, first time we were sat at a booth right away, second time we were told the wait would be about 2.5 hours unless we were willing to sit at the bar, once at the bar for 10 minutes or so we got offered a small table in the back. We were sat next to a loud family and the servers apologized to us about it even tho we never complained or minded it. They greet you with a basket of complimentary warm bread and cold butter, the bread gets cold fast and the butters hard to spread. They also offer refills on the bread. The steaks are cooked and seasoned perfectly. We've had the Kansas Steak, Spencer steak and the thick cut prime rib (great but not our preferred meat) . The sides have all been good, we've tried the mashed potatoes(so simple yet so so satisfying), French onion soup, filet mignon chili, crispy fried onions, baked potato & sauteed garlic spinach. The berry mojito was amazing the first time and sadly not great the second visit . The red velvet cake was nothing special just ok, kinda giving grocery store cake, the key lime pie was good. Parking is valet in the back of the restaurant for $5.50 but they will pocket your change and tip themselves without asking. Gave $10 and didn't get change when they only drive your car a few feet away to park it themselves. ‍ Kinda weird and entitled in my opinion, We just spent $200 + tip inside and then have to tip on top of parking for parking. ‍

It's a shame I haven't been here sooner; seeing as my name is Taylor, but i had the best time for my first time at Taylor's steakhouse. Arrived at around 9pm and sat at one of the lovely big booths. I am a sucker for a big booth that makes me feel like a mob wife. Luckily I was dressed appropriately to live out this dream during dinner. For starters, I had the Cucumber and Jalapeno margarita, the French Onion soup, and of course the delicious bread that came with the table. Cucumber and Jalapeno marg was hot fire flames! So good. The perfect combination of spicy and refreshing. I love me a spicy cocktail and this hit it out of the park for me. The French onion soup was great too! This was classic and delicious! I paired this with the yummy crispy bread basket. Yum! For my main, I had the Bone in Ribeye special cooked medium rare. This was great especially with the wild rice. Superb! For dessert, The creme brulee was calling my name and it was the perfect ending to the meal! If there is creme brulee, i'm always gonna have it and im so glad I did. Wonderful little dinner at Taylor' steakhouse. I was super excited to visit and im sure ill be back at my namesake once again!

Went here for a family birthday dinner and the experience definitely left something to be desired. The mood of the night was set up with rude valet. The lot was blocked by a plastic valet sign and when our car pulled up, we could see the staff just staring at us for a bit too long before SLOWLY approaching to ask if we had a reservation. Mind you, we were blocking traffic while waiting and it seemed like such a burden for the staff for us to have even pulled up for their valet service. This is just not the attitude I would expect for paid valet parking, it definitely started the night off with a sour taste. The service inside was good, the staff seemed overwhelmed but they were kind and attentive enough for a Saturday night. The restaurant was very dark. The lighting at our booth was nonexistent and we needed to bring out the phone flashlights to read the menu. Aside from that, the bathrooms downstairs only had one singular bathroom for women so it takes a while to even wash your hands. I did not get to see the upstairs but my mom, who has eaten here prior and was seated upstairs, states that it is better downstairs. Now the food- The Caesar salad was honestly one of the worst ones I have ever had, it tasted metallic (?) and strange. My family has never not finished a caesar salad before and theirs went mostly untouched. We even opted to not bring the left over salad home because it would just go to waste anyways so why even bother? Their entrees do not come with any sides except for their prime rib dinner menu. The prime rib came with mashed potatoes and creamed spinach with a side of horseradish. The food took a very long time to come out and most of it came out lukewarm. All of our steaks were cooked beautifully so no complaints there. However, the steak is not enough to bring me back. Maybe on a weekday the valet is more welcoming and the food might come out faster/hotter. It made me wish we celebrated elsewhere.

    The Culotte. Taylor's signature cut.

Gone are the days of quintessential Steakhouses. Dimly lit, Mahogany-accented interior surrounded by plush leather booths. Where Whiskey washes away inhibitions & strong Martinis whet the appetite. Many Steakhouses of yore have succumbed to the pandemic & rising costs. Yet one remains in the very heart of Koreatown. This, is Taylor's Steakhouse. Stepping into Taylor's felt as if time stood still. Dimmed lighting, red booths, white tablecloths, & hardwood paneling -- where relics and photos from the yesteryears adorn its walls. Came here on a Friday night to a full house. The entire bar top was occupied by what seemed like an after work crowd. Was seated at a table adjacent to the bar courtesy of the maitre d' -- what an ideal spot for people watching! Ordered a Vesper as an aperitif. The Martini was potent, yet easy on the palate -- a true testament to Taylor's reputation. Onward to food. French Onion Soup - Rich & decadent flavors from the Gruyère coupled by the hearty broth with a touch of subtle sweetness from the onions. Voila. Culotte Steak - Taylor's signature cut. Lean, tender, & flavorful cut of beef cooked medium rare. Delicious. Baked Potato - Self-titled. Piled on more butter and sour cream than one should dare. Fantastique! Both front and back of house staff worked harmoniously like a well-oiled machine. Courteous. Fast. Efficient. Don't let K-town's parking apocalypse deter your visit. Taylor's offers valet service for a nominal fee of $5. It's no wonder why Taylor's is widely recognized and well-regarded as an LA institution. In the immortal words of Gen. Douglas MacArthur: "I shall return".

California offered an immediate rush of light, space, and possibility. My memory is that when I turned my phone back on at LAX, my friend messaged to say he'd gotten us the hookup at Bestia. That dinner belongs to a chapter in which I spent considerable time in California and felt energized by the contrast with New York. My friend is highly discerning, with impeccable taste in food, design, and culture. He notices details most people miss, so when a place impresses him, I pay attention. From the moment I saw his message, I knew the reservation meant something. Even before we entered, Bestia's character was evident. Faded lettering crossed the corrugated metal facade, while brick walls and old loading doors preserved the warehouse's industrial history. Inside, enormous windows and garage doors brought light into a room shaped by glass, exposed ductwork, and warm amber pendants. When I fantasize about living in a loft, many of the attributes I picture are here, especially the incredible windows and connection to the street. Inside the restaurant, the dining room achieved a combination I rarely encounter. It had the table density and collective buzz of a great New York restaurant, but within a large, design-forward space closer in scale to something found in Chicago. New York creates energy through tight rooms, while Chicago excels at ambitious spaces with strong architectural identities. Bestia captured both advantages and made its considerable footprint feel alive and unified. We sat shoulder to shoulder at a pale stone counter facing the open kitchen. Golden era hip hop was playing, and A Tribe Called Quest still rings a very specific bell. I ordered the squid ink pasta, and it was exquisite, with enough depth and precision to command attention amid everything happening around us. We also spotted an unmistakably A-list celebrity, whom I will leave unnamed, making the night feel quintessentially Los Angeles. During that period, I often stayed at the Ace Hotel downtown, and the Arts District felt vibrant, raw, and full of possibility. The proximity to Skid Row could be deeply jarring, with severe hardship existing beside ambitious development and expensive restaurants. That contrast kept the neighborhood from feeling like a neat story of urban renewal, even as Bestia seemed to anchor its evolution. The warehouses and loading docks gave the area a character that no new development could convincingly recreate. Nearby, I also remember the American Apparel complex during its demise and the rise of impossibly cool Los Angeles designer John Elliott. His Escobar sweatpants and Villain hoodie helped define the kit of that moment; loyalists will understand. Los Angeles is a fickle city, drawn toward whatever is new and shiny, which makes Bestia's longevity especially impressive. Scene without substance is plastic, and Bestia earned its electricity through exceptional cooking, assured service, and a remarkable space; if I lived in Los Angeles, this would be one of the places I'd rely on whenever I wanted to impress someone. This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in the world.

Excellent beers on tap for $5-$6 and even an espresso martini for like $14. Chicken sandwich was always on point and also a big fan of the Morrison Trio. Owner was always pleasant and the servers were top notch. I never had an item on the menu that was not delicious. And I tried just about everything on their rotating happy hour menu. I remember they were selling $10 Don Julio 1942 shots one time because it was Cinco de Mayo week. Great times and memories made at this restaurant. Holiday decor was always great to see especially during Halloween. A true loss. Bring it back please! If there are any Dodgers fans out there with a good pregame spot, please reply with recommendations seeing how I do not have one anymore.

First off, I'm sad to know they are closed :(…read more The last time I went there was around the holidays before the end of the year and enjoyed some good wings and a couple of drinks. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The wings and drinks themselves were super flavorful and I thought I would have more time to enjoy and come back to visit while in town. My partner also tried their burger and fries and decided to stop by the restaurant only to find out they closed a couple of months ago. It was worth the visit when we went there back in December.z The place was cute and it felt comfy.
