Amazing quality pastries. I'm a croissantaholic and these are the best I've had anywhere.

Love this place! It's one of our favorite places for breakfast! Staff is friendly and outdoor seating is perfect for beautiful Maui days. Our favorite is the Bacon, Tomato, Avocado,Eggs Beni. They have a variety of fresh pastries which goes fast so go early before they run out!

We loved this beautiful little place after a morning on Haleakala. We stopped in intending to have lunch but didn't realize on Sundays they only have a brunch menu. So we adjusted our expectations and still had some delightful food. I got the crab cake benedict - which they brought out wrong at first and the waitress was SO overly kind about making it right when it wasn't that big of a deal. So definitely kudos on the customer service. Everything is served with a fresh salad with a bright citrus dressing that my husband and I both really enjoyed. My benedict had tons of flavor and the amount of crab was a great portion size. We sat out on the garden patio and it was just overall a lovely experience with the island breeze blowing through. Also, they take cash check or Venmo for payment, we used Venmo and it was super quick and easy!

No dinners for the immediate future. The chef is gone to France. Breakfasts are still great.

Considering half the menu is Eggs Benedict, I expected a perfect one. I ordered the bacon, tomato, and avo benedict. Unfortunately the poached eggs were underdone and the potatoes that came with the dish were overcooked. The lilikoi vinaigrette that comes on the side salad was not anything special. Food was just okay, but I don't think for its price at almost $26 is worth it. Pretty views from the outdoor seating area! I think the "please wait to be seated" sign should be removed if they tell you to just sit yourself anyway. The two girls taking orders were fine. They also take cash, check, and venmo only.

Food is well Prepared and flavorful. Service is accommodating to BYOB, with appropriate glasses. Great Patio dining with small tables for an intimate setting.

Not the best breakfast ever but it's decent. We had the eggs Benedict and you can purchase a pastry on the side

Amazing pastries! The spinach and cheese quiche and the almond croissants are true winners. And the view is lovely too.

Excellent crepes and delicious bakery options await you. Just perfect for breakfast right after the sunrise at the Haleakala.

Does anyone know if it's cash/check only for dinner service too ? And is it BYOB, can we bring our own bottle of wine?

Despite my…read moreyears of lamenting the decline of fine dining, this restaurant serves as a vibrant reminder of its timeless appeal and impeccable execution. Every aspect of the dining experience, from making the reservation to the meal itself, embodies the essence of fine dining at its absolute best. On my wife's 74th birthday, she was visiting Hawaii for the first time. Everyone went above and beyond to make her day truly special. From being warmly greeted by the hostess with a heartfelt "Happy Birthday" directed to my wife, to finding her name elegantly printed on the menu with another "Happy Birthday" message, every aspect of our time there was nothing short of superb. The food was exceptional, each dish a delightful experience. There was not a single minor misstep throughout the entire meal. I was particularly pleased to find my favorite wine on the wine list, a pleasant surprise. The sommelier, Joey, has an infectious personality, and it's evident that he genuinely enjoys his job. Our server, Mason, set the perfect pace for the meal by letting us enjoy the sunset and the exquisite wine. Everyone who served us, including Tr'e and Dillon, enhanced our evening. In today's era where fine dining seems to be a lost art, Merriman's Kapalua on Maui stands as a testament to its enduring presence and continued relevance.

Unfortunately, our overall experience was a bit disappointing. We had an obstructed view, which took away from what we were hoping would be a special anniversary dinner. We also mentioned that we were celebrating our anniversary, but there wasn't really any acknowledgment or special touch to make the occasion feel memorable. That said, we really appreciated that the restaurant was able to accommodate us and seat us earlier than our original reservation time. The service in that regard was very accommodating. Overall, the food was excellent, but we were hoping for a more special experience given that we were celebrating our anniversary.

I am so happy that my husband & I got to experience this restaurant while in Hawai'i. For starters, we ordered their special lobster salad (with lobster, mango, avocado, and pickled hearts of palm) and their mushroom side dish. Both were absolutely packed with flavor, and the lobster salad especially included very new flavors for us both. The mushrooms were out of this WORLD! For entrees, we ordered the spicy lobster ravioli and their mushroom side curried macadamia nut fish (swordfish). Each bite was a little taste of fishy heaven for both dishes. We are so happy with our visit here, and cannot wait for the opportunity to come back and try more amazing, home-grown food. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

The restaurant is located inside the Mauna Kea Resort and just above the beautiful Mauna Kea Beach. They have a nearby location where you can see Manta Rays at night. The service is always very good at this restaurant and the food is amazing. During my last trip I got many fish dishes in Hawaii and they didn't exactly impress me so this trip I am going for other proteins. I got the bone in New York Strip and my wife got the dried aged pork chop. Our server recommended the pork chop to be cook medium and I already knew it'll be pretty good. My ribeye was very good. It was perfectly cooked to medium rare and it comes with a side of purple sweet mashed potato. However, my wife's pork chop was the most impressive dish. It was tender, sweet, and savory. I had some of her pork chop and I wish I ordered one too. I stripped that pork chop bone clean. The dessert was pretty good but I do wish there were other options. We ordered the Soufflé and the Chocolate Mille-Feuille. The Soufflé was very good but the Chocolate Mille-Feuille was just ok. Our server did recommended us to get the Bombe Alaska but I already tried it during my last trip. After dinner we all went to the cliff to watch the Manta Rays. The kids especially enjoyed this activity. I am not sure when I'll return to the Big Island but if I do, I'll probably be visiting Manta again.

We planned this evening well in advance, making reservations over a month ago and explicitly noting the milestone celebration. My husband even called ahead of time to confirm, and the staff assured us they would do something special for them. The letdown began right at arrival. The hostess was passive and asked our table, "Who is celebrating their anniversary?" Given that our party consisted of two couples under 40 and my in-laws, it felt incredibly unobservant and careless for a luxury resort host team. Later in the meal, my husband quietly asked our server if anything special was planned for the occasion, only to be told, "No, we don't do that." Beyond a casual, passing verbal acknowledgment, absolutely nothing was done. The only true highlight of the evening was the beautiful view. Our server was friendly, though a bit awkward, but the kitchen and bar execution were highly disappointing: * **The Drinks:** Highly overpriced for the size, lacking in flavor, and tasted noticeably watered down. * **The Pacing:** While thankfully, we were in no rush, it took a tremendous amount of time to receive our appetizers and salads, though the entrees did arrive quickly after. * **The Food:** Every dish was exceptionally expensive, yet the portion sizes were minuscule and entirely flavorless. The Caesar salad, in particular, had a very strange, off-putting flavor profile. * **Dessert:** We ordered the $17 cheesecake, which was absolutely tiny. For a premium dining experience on the coast at a luxury resort, you expect a balance of ambiance, culinary excellence, and attentive service. While Manta has the ambiance down, the food and hospitality were entirely lacking. We left the restaurant hungry, deeply disappointed, and feeling that our family's major milestone deserved a much higher level of care than what we received.
