Please close your Garnerville store. It was horrible, grey beans, pebbles of chicken meat with no fresh ingredients in my burrito. The tortilla was spongy, as if it was sitting on a hot buffet tray all day. I was served in under 2 minutes from placing my order. There is so much good/great mexican in rockland this place won't compete. Unless you're using it as a front to launder money, it's never going to last. I've eaten here a few times, and the food is pretty good and super affordable. I wanted to check this place out around the time they first opened and tried one of their tortas. They cook the contents together on the grill and serve you this humongous sandwich for something like $7. It's really flavorful and definitely fills you up. The other times I went I stuck with the tortas but tried different ones, and they were all tasty. However, this was a few years ago, so I can't speak to the current quality of their food. where should i start. my husband and i came here few years back and all was fine, no complaints . but today the 26th of July 2018 was not good. Maybe there are different owners . but they asked if we would like guacamole and we said yes that would be nice , well the guacamole was placed on the table surrounded by 6 chips for dipping, WTF and just from the look of it i knew it was not going to be good. it was nasty RUNNY yellow watery, to much onion, tomato, cilantro . tasted it and yuck. didn't the waitress notice that it wasn't touched when she was taking the plates away? on top of that my husbands carné asadas tacos carne was cold. and my chicken on my tacos were room temperature, and they charged 5$ for 3 oz of guacamole . i will call and speak to the manager and let him know what we experienced. read more

This little hidden gem is a cool spot. We ordered shrimp burritos that comes with plenty of medium size shrimps. Nicely seasoned and big enough for two people to split if you don't wanna over stuff yourself. Definitely will be a regular for us and loved that we can purchased some Mexican items in the back. This is a hidden gem Near the railroad tracks. We stopped in to try it out and surprised that it was store restaurant combination. The chips come with two sauces a medium and mild salsa. Chips were fresh. My wife had a shrimp nacho meal that had an huge amount of shrimp. It was flavorful and cheese filled. I had a burrito with shrimp and chorizo. They only serve a TINY BASKET of chips per table NO MATTER HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE AT THE TABLE. If you ask for more chips they bring another tiny basket which they CHARGE YOU FOUR DOLLARS for but don't tell you. We didn't know until we got the check. I've never heard of a Mexican restaurant charging for chips. I QUESTIONED IT WHEN WE GOT OUR BILL. The waitress just said it's their policy. We pointed out that no one mentioned we would be charged for more chips. We also pointed out several tables with only ONE person at the table and they were served the same amount of chips as our table of THREE. You would think that would be common sense to have a bigger basket for more people THEY WOULDN'T BUDGE. The food was good otherwise and reasonable, but the $4.00 charge for the 2nd tiny basket of chips was excessive and uncalled for. The price for the 2nd tiny basket of chips was almost 50% of the cost of a meal!!! read more

Wasn't impressed. The chorizo taco was delicious though with a good amount of meat. Got three different Tostados. A little meat and a lot of lettuce. Tasted kind of bland. The guacamole was good but not great. Kind of soupy and I like some chunks of avocado so I know it's homemade. Best Mexican restaurant in town. Authentic to the max. Has an awesome corner store/market vibe and the wait staff is always friendly and helpful. The chips, salsa and food is always extraordinarily fresh. With a wide variety of foods this is a place to keep coming back to and exploring new flavors. As I'm writing this review I'm eating a cow intestine tostada!!! Also a nice selection of Mexican beers. I'm so grateful this spot opened up in my town. read more

This California girl is obsessed. This is the only authentic Mexican food you can get locally at all. They recently updated the dining room and raised the prices a tish, but it's totally worth it. If you like spice ask for the real salsa and they will bring it out. My favorite is the sopes or tostadas. My son and husband like the veggie burritos and enchiladas. Just happened to see this place as I was passing by on my motorcycle last week so I made a mental note to try it out tonight. Just finished dinner here, and WOW!!!!! This place is GREAT. I had the Nachos, Guac., a chorizo taco, and my date had Chile Releno with mole sauce. Man, whoever does the cooking here is really killer. The taco was a soft taco. The tortilla was nicely heated on the grill and I could taste what I think was butter. Really gave it a great taste with the taco. Nachos were absolutely superb. Big chunks of tomato, fresh vegs., good portions I was really surprised and pleased. Small place. I bet this place gets packed on the weekend. Oh, the furniture is SO COOL. They have these beautifully carved, painted tables, booths, and even the hi chairs have this great art work. Really makes the place stand out even more. It's also a combination grocery store. Even the bathroom is nice and big (unisex), and very clean. Plenty of parking. Doesn't have a bar like Tulcingo in town nor as big a dining space, but 100 times better in my opinion. No negatives about this place. This location is a gold mine. read more

I met up with two friends that just got engaged and thought it was at the perfect atmosphere to celebrate with them. There are plenty of tables and space to enjoy a quiet evening. They also even have a mini grocery market, which was stocked with fresh produce. Only down side is they do not serve margaritas but have a good selection of beer. read more

This place is a restaurant and Mexican bodega all in one it seems. The inside is small, quaint, and fabulously Mexican. Check out the table-tops, and you'll get it. I ordered enchiladas and a chicken burrito. The enchiladas were good; as good as you'd get anywhere for a fair price. The Burrito on the other hand, was freaking epic. This thing was packed with flavor and every bite got better. I was actually in disbelief. Portion was good. Only critique I might offer is that at $25, wouldn't hurt if they thru in some chips and salsa, like you'd get if you were a dine-in guest. I have eaten here a couple of times. Food is mediocre. The pork was very fatty. The salsa did not taste good to me. Shop Rite jarred tastes better. I gave it 2 stars because the chicken taco was decent. They had been somewhat pleasant in the past until my last visit. I waited an excessive amount of time for my food. When I could clearly see the food was ready in the container to go. After a long period the cook then moved the food next to the register, Which was inches out of my reach. However, the guy working the register was on the phone. I gestured to move it closer and said I don't need a bag. I had already paid when I placed my order. He then put the phone on hold, moved the food closer to himself and yelled at me several times "You gotta wait" then the cook chimed in from behind him "you gotta wait".
