Store front is a jewelry store but once you walk past that, you'll see the espresso bar on the left and after that, it's the restaurant. The decor is so cute and thoughtful. The dessert is amazing - you have to try the molten chocolate cake. Yummy mezcal drinks.

Very good. This review will cover many facets of the restaurant as I feel like the reviews I read prior did not help me decide if I should eat here or not. FOOD- Started with fresh toasted bread and oil. Very good. App- fried shrimp appetizer--5 stars; LOVED THIS. May have been my favorite part of the meal. The shrimp was butterflied in such a light, delicate batter with clean fresh oil. Nice warm lemon on the side (would have appreciated this grilled just to amp up the flavor a little). The haberno aioli was excellent and well paired with the shrimp. Wish I had grabbed a pic but was so hot and fresh couldn't wait. Entrees-- Mushroom Pasta-- 3.5 stars--this was very good however I do not feel it matched the description. From the description I thought I was ordering a truffle/olive oil based sauce with mushrooms. Thinking like truffle, oil, Parmesan. I didn't taste much truffle it ended up tasting more like vodka sauce but was still yummy. The mushrooms were good but the chunks were a little too big for my liking. Smaller pieces would be better. I ordered mine with the shrimp (which was a little over cooked--bummed after the shrimp app was so spot on). Seafood Pasta-- 3 stars; my fiancé wasn't as crazy about this dish. He commented the protein as lacking and the sauce did not have much flavor. Margs-- Dona Felixa----soooo good! Could drink this all night Margarita oaxaca--more smoky than listed. Didn't feel the balance was right. 5 Reyes--very good, spicy but not as boozy as I would have thought Vanilla latte was very good, espresso was great. To their credit, all food was piping hot, love that! AMBIENCE- the columns by the water really obstruct the view and make it hard to have a nice water view. The bouncer guy who is supposed to keep the street vendors out? Awkwardly stood in front of the view too which was odd. The jazz saxophone player they had live on Thursday nights was SOOOO GOOOOD. He played some older songs and more contemporary modern day songs as well. Very talented. Great vibes. Overall I would go back! Nicer perk was it was not as expensive as many of the other restaurants. For one app, three cocktails, two entrees, and one latte with tip under $100 USD.

Fantastic food! We enjoyed everything we ate and drank. Standouts were la margarita pizza, tuna tacos and the margarita salulita with homemade passionfruit reduction. Loved the vibe, live DJ, ocean breezes and friendly service. Hope to be back again!

Environment/cocktails/food are all very cute and aesthetic but the taste of it all was very meh. The cocktails have little to no alcohol in them (we ordered 2 each and felt completely sober - mind you I'm usually a lightweight and even after eating will feel tipsy after half a drink). I had the bolognese which was again, just okay. We also ordered the shrimp - it was hard to take off the skin and extremely hard to eat as well as extremely salted. It's cute if you're going for aesthetic/views - right next to the beach & you can see surfers. However, personally I wouldn't return.

Octopus pizza

Local shopkeeper recommended this restaurant on the "main drag" in Punta de Mita. We wanted something other than Mexican. This was a great find. We had a small octopus pizza (without the bacon) which was amazing. The octopus was so tender and here were some jalapeños for a bit of heat. We also had the tuna dish and the mahi with the goat cheese and mushroom ravioli. Everything was excellent. Very nice service. Always love sitting in one of these airy spaces overlooking the water. You can't go wrong at La Rustica.
