Wow this place is legit! The food is so good and authentic. I have been looking for tacos like this being new to the area. Some standouts are the pastor. The quesa birria was good but I did find the beef itself a bit tough. Otherwise the flavor and taste are good and the consommé was one of the better ones I've had. It even comes with some pieces of meat and chickpeas which is nice. I definitely want to go back and try more things. This restaurant was recommended to us by our Lyft driver who swore up and down that this was the best taco joint in the area. Overall, I think the tacos were good, but they were a bit greasier and saltier than the other traditional taco places I love. Ambiance: The restaurant is a casual counter order place. Once you order the staff will bring the food to you. There were plenty of tables. Food: The menu was pretty expansive and inexpensive. They had tacos (over 7 kinds), tortas, tostadas, gorditas, and gringas. I ordered 5 carne asada fajita tacos for myself. These tacos were TINY. I can probably eat like 8 if I were super hungry. I was really looking forward to trying this place based on the reviews, but honestly I was a little disappointed. My carne asada tacos had great flavor but they were absolutely dripping and drowning in orange grease...and I DO mean dripping. My friend and I both got it all over our clothes and was really gross. This is my favorite taco spot in Dallas. I used to like chilangos in Dallas but this is wayyy better. I got 4 tacos - 1 surtida, 1 tripitas, and 2 asada fajita. The breakfast burritos are amazing here, i always get the bacon burritos. The aguacate salsa is so good, i order extra salsa's with every order. They do charge for extra sauces, but when you ordered as many items as we did, we were good on sauces haha. Food - 4.5/5 - Ordered the following (22 ITEMS!!) Lengua (Regular, Sliced and Back of Tongue) - 5/5 - These are beef tongue tacos. Yes, beef tongue. Yes, don't knock it if you haven't tried it. I still think Beef tongue tacos are the best types of meat for a street taco. Prove me wrong. Must get. Al Pastor - 4/5 - Great flavor, but a little on the small side. Totally recommend to order any taco with the melted cheese. They're pricier, but it's worth it! There is, of course, green salsa and other flavorful salsas to choose from. To tell you that I'm so happy we have an amazing taco place near home, in an understatement! We were so bummed when La Banqueta closed because that was our go to taco spot. Safe to say, I think we found our new spot! We love the tacos and shrimp tostada. We also tried the birria tacos with the consume. The consume and flavor of the tacos were delicious! A hint of spice, tender meat - delicious! The birria tacos were a little soggy and not crispy like they usually are (from the crunchy cheese). It was falling apart, more than usual, when eating it. Spontaneously came across this place while driving around in Plano. I had a craving for birria and I think it's hard to find a really good spot. But the pictures and reviews looked promising. Walking in it was kinda hot. Which I get due to an open kitchen leading into the dining. But to some it might be too hot. Just saying. Overall, I ordered the birria tacos with consome and it was SOOOO GOOD. And I'm tremendously picky with my birria. The plate only comes with 2 tacos but it's packed with meat in each one. The consome literally has perfect flavors. I think the broth had chickpeas in it or some time of beans and I was unsure of it. But other than that, the flavors were definitely there. But if you want 3, that's at least $17.99 since one birria taco is $5.99 apparently. I'm not sure if there's a highway nearby, but it's certainly highway robbery to charge that. This place is unassuming in a tiny hole in the wall gas station. You can tell they're good by it being packed, and with non white folks especially. I had to write a review because I was on a mini taco venture of 4 places and this was the best spot that day. Man. Hole in a wall for real. Technically and actually the wall is a gas station! We went on a Saturday afternoon and the lot was full of cars and the inside was full of people. That was a good sign. A huge menu that is a little overwhelming, but can be figured out. We stuck to ordering 3 tacos, but while waiting for our foods, saw that the tortas and quesadillas were really popular items being ordered. Ordered the spicy pork and cheese taco, steak taco, and fried pork skin taco. Just amazing flavors. Fresh off the grill and just delicious food. Each taco was less than $2. This was our 2nd stop of 4 places and again, the best of the 4. What was especially cool was it was the least advertised and known of the 4 spots. My family keeps raving about the black bean dip! I loved the chips and salsa that came with being seated, I could have eaten just that! Nonetheless, Tex-Mex food in Texas is pretty good. I went with the beef brisket enchiladas and tacos combo, and it was good, though I felt that the beef brisket was just shredded beef.
