Street taco and rice, no garnish.

La Santisima. This is one of the top two places I send people when they ask about good Mexican. When my husband and I first moved in together some 14 years ago, this place was called La Condesa, and it was a quick walk from our house. It was a tiny shop with unbelievable quesadillas and a salsa bar that took up nearly a quarter of the dining area square footage. It changed names, not owners or recipes. It grew in fame, and space, and they added more decor. Then they moved to a bigger, much trendier location, but they've always stayed true to their vibe and their cuisine. Coming here has always felt like going home. Get the chips, the guac, the tacos, the quesas, visit the salsa bar 100 times, try a cocktail or stick to their unique horchata. You truly can't go wrong here. It's remained one of the best Mexican places the valley has to offer, and I hope it stays around for years to come.

Not gonna lie, I had no idea why this place was this hyped up on Reddit. Food was alright, but everything was just crazy style expensive. Honestly, the free chips were the best part of the meal. Maybe there was something else on the menu that everyone else goes crazy for but for me it was just pretty run of the mill. Kudos for the large salsa bar tho, so many different ones to try, that was genuinely pretty cool.

Fully stoked I finally tried this place on a trip to phoenix. Probably the best fish taco I've ever had. Everything was really great. The art and ambiance were spectacular! And my server was busy but very nice. Total A+

Super cute spot with unique tacos! The decor is really cool too. The guac was amazing, it has cranberries in it which were a surprisingly delicious complement. We had the shark meat taco, the Arabic style taco, a very unique but good shrimp taco with Jamaica salsa, and a mole taco. All were phenomenal!

I haven't been to this place in probably 10 years since it was a tiny little restaurant in a strip mall. I loved it then and decided to come for lunch and was pleasantly air at both the new location and the upgraded menu. The ambiance is amazing - between the art and the swing seat at the bar. I love the vibe And the menu has been expanded with a ton of really cool Mexican inspired tacos and food that are really unique. They even have a separate vegan/vegetarian menu. The tacos we ordered were all flavorful and the meat was perfectly cooked. Shark tacos, mole-based tacos, Argentinian beef. So many interesting combinations. And best of all, they still have the amazing salsa bar that I remembered. Lots of good spicy options if you like it hot like I do. And last but not least, service was friendly and efficient. Still love this place, and maybe even more than I used to.

This place had really good reviews and we wanted an authentic AZ experience. Pluses- definitely the decor. 5 stars! Super cool dia de los muertos motif. The guac was really good and I liked the salsa bar. I didn't like the carne asada taco. It really was disappointing. The shrimp taco was quite tasty. Really liked the beans and rice but the portion was rather small. The menu is really overwhelming and I think if they rewrote it/ basically said these are all the options but you can have them as tacos, burros, etc it would be easier to follow. It's literally the longest menu I've ever seen! Also there was only one waitress so it took kind of a while to get things. Overall positive experience but some things could be better.

I have eaten here only once so far. I'll definitely be back. This restaurant has some amazingly good food. The black mole tacos are to die for...but I'm getting ahead of myself. The ambience is interesting. I'm not sure how to describe it. I encourage you to check it out yourself. We had great service. Our server was friendly and attentive. I'm not a tequila drinker so I can only say that the list of tequilas they serve is impressive. Back to the food. It was all very tasty. I highly recommend giving La Santisima a visit.

Great place, great decor, food is incredible. Service was ok. The menu is frankly overwhelming lol- Never seen so many options! Will be back next year

Found a decent Mexican spot! Great service and a nice atmosphere. The guacamole was flavorful and delicious. It wasn't too much where we could get full too :) The chicken bowl mole was rich and smokey with just the right amount of spice. The asada taco was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The Mahi Mahi Santisima Special taco was delicious!! The beans and rice were also delicious. The only disappointing things we had was the Margaritas and the salsa bar. The Tamarin lacked any real flavor and they both were pretty weak. The cups were tiny and really couldn't get any salsa.

Love this place. Hadn't been in a minute and the menu has expanded. The motif is great. Our wait staff was perfect with great recommendations. I had two tacos - I always get the shrimp, which is my favorite- and added a new one. Don't skip on the horchata- it's my fave in the valley. Cool joint, great art work. The bar has swings. I mean, what more do you want?

I'm not sure if I've just been living under a rock or why I haven't been aware of this place having vegan options!! The location in downtown Glendale is closed so don't drive over there if maps shows it as an option! (Made that mistake and had to drive another 25 min to the correct, new address) The waiter was really kind and let me know the vegan cheese options they had and were reassuring about making it modified. The only thing is that the refried beans are made with chicken broth so if they ask black beans or refried beans after ordering something made vegan, it's because the refried beans are NOT. Staff let me know after already ordering the refried beans which is why I crossed it out in the picture as I can't review that lol. Tons of salsa options, great decor. Will be back!

This was honestly one of the most disappointing dining experiences I've ever had....ive never and I mean NEVER have not finished a plate at a restaurant. I was served a COLD dish with 3 pieces of chicken, 3 pieces of chili and a BUNCH of beans and rice smothered in a god awful white cream sauce.....definitely won't be coming back. The only good thing about this meal was the agua de horchata....that was pretty good!

But I wanted something hearty after donating blood the day before at Phoenix Fan Fusion. I felt like I didn't eat enough to replenish all of the corpuscles I shed, so a hearty late breakfast was in order. I was pleasantly thrilled with my choice of Presidio Cocina Mexicana, as the late breakfast I ordered did not disappoint! I ordered the Chilaquiles, which are essentially breakfast nachos, and you have a choice of protein to add. I chose the birria beef which was perfectly slow-cooked and complemented the corn tortilla chips, cheese, and eggs superbly. I opted for both the red chile and green chile sauce which coated the chips along with a generous layer of tangy cotija cheese. I asked for the eggs scrambled and they cooked them just how I like them... fairly dry and in a thin griddled layer. Add to this mound of well-seasoned goodness a decent dolloping of Tapatio hot sauce (and salt and pepper on the eggs) and I had endless perfect bites of spicy, meaty brekkie goodness that brought delighted yummy sounds from my grateful gullet! This was quality food and the couple at the bar next to me raved about the Menudo, so it has all the hallmarks of authentic Mexican fare. It restored me from borderline anemic to my usual strutting rugged caballero self. "¡Arriba, arriba! ¡Ándale, ándale!"

It reminds me of a ceviche type dish due to its raw butterflied shrimp that is marinated in the house made chile serrano & cilantro citrus sauce. It was awesome. We were also given free chips & house made bean dip. I ordered the mixed two item plate with a chile rellano and taco corazon (grilled taco dipped in a red chile sauce, stuffed with shredded beef & melted cheese. Topped with grilled onions). The black beans and rice is also tasty. I tried a bite of the other dishes, and I also really liked the brightly colored spinach & cheese enchiladas with pink sauce ( signature beet sauce). Our party arrived right on time for our reservation, but we were not seated until 15 min later because our table was not ready. It took about an additional 15 min to get tap water for the table (there was not enough provided anyways), and to place our orders too another ~20 min. The food did not arrive until 30 min later. For context, we eventually learned that the restaurant was short staffed and the bartender was also operating as our waiter. When the food finally arrived, there was a mix-up on what was delivered. We had checked with the staff who delivered one of the dishes: we ordered the "wild mushroom" side, but what we received did not look quite like it. We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The food in general was delicious. If this was a more standard dining experience, it would have been 4-5 stars just for the food. The service was very subpar, and really colored the entire experience negatively, therefore the two star review. I understand that staffing shortages happen -- fine. My family has worked in food service as wait staff for 25+ YEARS, so I am empathetic. But for management to ring up our bill and then come confront us in an inflammatory manner, making us feel like we were wrong, on an occasion to celebrate something special, was extremely disappointing.

So my wife and I stopped here after a show we had just got out of on 4-11-26 at about 430 pm. We…read morewere sat and waited for our server Donte to show up and I don't know if he was new but man he was not a good server. We first ordered drinks my wife got a traditional margarita and I got the jalapeño pineapple margarita. I mean there were ok but definitely have had better. The cups they served it in is not the appropriate cups for this drink. Along with the drinks came the chips and salsa which were surprisingly good. Now the food. My wife ordered the chimichanga with red sauce and i ordered shrimp tacos. Nearly 35 mins later and 2 basket of chips gone our food arrives. Her chimichanga was covered in green sauce not red like she ordered and my shrimp tacos were inedible. The shrimp was sooo hard I literally couldn't pull them apart and the crunch I heard while I tried to chew it (which is a clear indicator that it's way over cooked) grossed me out. When my waiter finally came around, after stopping at the table behind us and the 2 tables in front of us, I let him know how bad these tacos were. He took my food and exchanged it for birria tacos. I didn't have to wait long before my tacos arrived. Again they were good but not great. So as we finished our dinner the waiter was nowhere to be found. 11 mins later he comes outside where we were sitting didn't acknowledge us and once again went to the other tables around us. He does whatever it is the other patrons asked him to and goes back inside. When he comes back out he had a tray of drinks dropping them off at the previous tables mentioned and then once again heads back inside. Luckily I grabbed his attention prior him to completing going inside and asked him for a box. Now I was in the food business for almost 16 years and managed servers in those 16 years. Most servers understand when a patron asks for a box to go that usually means they're done and ready to go, so naturally you'd think as he's retrieving the box you'd bring the check. Nope not Donte he brings the box and walks away. Comes back later to pick up the dirty dishes and continues to walk away again, I had to tell him we wanted our check. With all the choices in downtown for food and drink id avoid this one for sure. To think we were up in the air between this place and Arrogant Butcher. Clearly we chose wrong. And one more thing when food gets returned for whatever reason a manager should make an appearance. Nope not here
