I love this place. First of all the employees are #1. They are all so friendly and they make you feel like family the second you walk in. Another nice thing is all the waiters, waitresses, hostesses, bus boys etc all staff seem to want to help at all tables, if you need or ask for anything and I love that. You never get the " that's not my table and I'm not your server attitude. I really like and appreciate that. My wife and I eat breakfast here frequently on weekends. The service is always outstanding and the food is delicious. Yesterday I ordered the supreme omelet with hash browns. There hash browns are so damn good. A fresh shredded American style hash brown Dennys style, crispy on the outside, creamy like shredded potato on the inside with the right amount of greasy delicious oil. The supreme omelette was top notch loaded with fresh ingredients. My wife ordered the huevos rancheros and it was typical and delicious as well. The free chips and salsa excellent as well. We tried this place out because yelp recommended it to me and I was shocked at how much I loved it. My dad and I shared a plate for 2 and it was a lot more than enough. They give you complementary consome, and chips and salsa. Our food came with a large side of rice and beans, a salad, and tortillas. This is my daughter and I new favorite Mexican seafood restaurant! Their Shrimp cocktail is so good and two people can easily share. They are very generous with the shrimp too! They are definitely known for their seafood and I've never seen most of the seafood selection they were offering, but I wasted no time in partaking on something new. We stubbled on this place by complete accident and it was a good one!!! We ordered the fish tacos, the garlic shrimp tacos, and the shrimp and octopus tostada. It was all amazing!! The fish tacos was the best I have had in a very long time! We come down to San Diego often and I feel like this is going to be a must for us when we are in town. Our server was awesome as well, very attentive, helpful and friendly. We caught them right as they were getting ready to close and they still served us without trying to rush us out the door. I ordered a breakfast plate /bacon and cheese omlette with toast. my daughter went to pick up the food and when she arrived back home, i checked my food and the egg was burnt to where it becomes spongy and black from burning and the bacon inside it was chunky and not cooked fully, also my toast had no butter on it and they did not send us no forks. i called the restaurant to speak with someone about the quality of my burnt eggs and the lady who answered spoke spanish, to which i dont speak to good in spanish so i asked if she knew english or someone there who could talk english. she had no idea what i was saying so she hung up on me. i attempted to call several more times and she kept hanging up!. i asked to speak with the manager on the last call and the person gave the phone to another lady who stated i was talking to the manager !( the lady who kept hanging up ) i then told her that is not good customer service to keep hanging up on people who need help. it really wasn't about the food any longer once she kept hanging up ! i just wanted to know if they can replace my food for another plate that was cooked right. but after several hangups, i was angry by then. i informed her i will no longer eat there if the service is like that. she said OK! i hung up. they clearly dont know how to handle customers and lose customers as if they dont need us. so at this point ,i will no longer refer anyone or eat there. their food is great, but the customer service is lost !! 100% read more

You might miss this place unless you were actively looking for it. It shares space with an auto glass repair shop of some sort. They have created a welcoming patio in the parking lot with the help of a tent but severely limits the already limited parking. I was meeting a group of people here for a breakfast meeting. The servers were very friendly and very attentive with coffee/water refills and just generally checking in on you regularly. Menu is large with a good variety of choices. Members of my party come here regularly for the chilequiles. I ordered the Machaca Sinaloense style which basically I discovered means no eggs. It was the exact same price as the one with eggs so not sure about that. Meal came with potatoes, beans and tortillas. The machaca portion was a bit on the small side but had good flavor. The pricing is interesting, some things seemed quite reasonably priced and others disproportionately high, such as the machaca. One kind of negative comment was the various mariachis, one man band and flower hawkers repeatedly coming up to the table and then just standing there even after you said no thanks. I would not go out of my way to come here, but it was a decent breakfast and overall good experience. 3 stars due to pricing, parking and pesty vendors. read more

Easy 5-stars for one of the more welcoming restaurants I've been to in and around San Diego. I ordered the surf and turf quesadilla, and the order came with chips and a cup of vegetable soup -- all for free! If you appreciate REAL Mexican food, this place will disappoint you. If you enjoy micheladas, this is not the place for you. We ordered a shrimp burrito with a side of guac and 2 micheladas. I'm pretty sure they replaced the salt in the micheladas with sugar, and I'm almost positive the Clamato is mixed half and half with water. In our burrito ( that took over 30 minutes to get with less than 15 people on the restaurant) there were MAYBE 4 or 5 shrimp. It was basically a crunchy bread burrito with a little bit of rice and cabbage. The side of guacamole was $7 ( and still had large chuncks of avocado shell in there) and 2 micheladas were $16. Absolutely overpriced for the garbage it was. The staff is pushy and when I tried to tell her the micheladas were horrible she said " oh well sorry no returns" and just pushed them closer to our plates. Safe to say we will never be returning here--- Mariscos Altata should have stayed in this location! They're staff and overall quality and service was much better. I hope this place doesn't stay for long. P.S..... they COVER the guacamole with Cojita cheese. read more

The food at this restaurant is absolutely top of city when it comes to authenticity. The cooks hands down should definitely be rewarded for their hard work in taste and presentation of the food. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same thing when it comes to customer service. I've been coming here for 8 months simply because of the taste of the food but if I find food as good as this elsewhere, I will definitely no be coming here anymore. There is ALWAYS a problem with the approach of the servers, our orders, time waiting for our checks, which at one point was over an hour JUST for waiting for our check...
