Went here yesterday on a whim, my regular person was too busy and could get me in Saturday!! Not!!! So I tried this place again. I ended up with someone's grandma and she was treating my feet like she had to do major work! Not! I had to tell her that my feet are sensitive for her to stop digging in my nailbeds or draw blood. Then came the manicure and the chick that did them had been sitting by me relaxing until other customers came in. Who does a manicure without soaking fingers in water first? She did and she tried my patience. I had to ask for water to soak because just putting cuticle cream on and that snatching and cutting my skin was not the business. Then I always bring my polishes with me because those shops use polish thinner to fill up low or almost gone polishes. It was a Revlon Gel polish that drys fast without the light and them heffas was squaking about that. This chick was also fascinated by my lashes and was asking too many questions. I tested my intuition and was right. I quoted her a price of what I paid which was a Lie and of course she told me their price etc, and I laughed to myself and of course here came the " you come here and we can do for you at a better price, however this is the CHICK THAT WAS GONNA GIVE ME A NO SOAK IN WATER MANICURE!!???. I was charged $35 for a manicure and pedicure and I had my own polish. Then asked for a tip. Definitely won't be going back. And it smelled like polish and . So yeah no more for me. read more

I've been going here for years. Services have gone down hill tremendously. I was here on Sat and I got a manicure with gel polish. The workers were talking loudly and laughing with each other and stopping in between painting my nails just to laugh with each other. Sloppy work. Come here frequently, usually call to make sure they'll be free but walk ins are okay too I believe. I'm not sure of the woman's name, but I've had many of them do my nails and they all do a terrific job! I come here, or go to Victoria Salon, they are my go to's for sure! I even come back here from Sacramento as I can't find any good ones out there. I always get Natural nails with DND gel. I do not normally go here for nails but I do for eyebrows. They took 45 minutes to "soak off" my DND gel polish. I have never had this happen. They used a small bottle of what I assume is a soak off liquid. She then scrapped and soaked my nails in acetone. Took another 20 to paint. I have never encountered this with DND gel polish and I always get the same color, my usual salon wraps tin foil and pre-saoked cotton swabs on each nail and poof the gel is off and my nails are painted and polished/dryed in under 30 minutes. Way too long for my patience level I am not one who enjoys sitting in the salon esp during covid. they charged $5 more than their posted price, I asked if it was bc of how long it took to get then gel off and they said no prices went up. I recommended they also update their price list. I walked out into the sun and saw one nail looked really weird and the top coat was not on right, it began to bubble. I walked across the street to shop for something and by the time I was done maybe an hour, my whole left hand had the ugliest paint job. In the sunlight you could see a messy bubbly, and overall bad top coat. I walked back in and politely asked if she could fix it, she filed down the bubbles on my left hand and took the time to investigate the right hand too, which she found to have more bubbles also, glad she caught that. So another 15 minutes to file down the bubbles and to re-do top coat. She said she did not dry them properly. She left me and told me to switch hands and dry my other hand myself. I did so and I also tried it twice more (both hands at 90 seconds) to be sure, and left I think they do a good job with eyebrows, costs $12 and I always tip $5 no matter what service I get. Overall they are friendly and looks clean and they always seat me rather fast, but I always see folks waiting for pedicures which I never get. I am sticking to my regular salon for nails and here for eyebrows. My regular salon which uses the same brand DND is faster and just $5 cheaper. I will admit that I can see that the polish looks like a nice thinner coat more natural to my nail, compared to my normal place with does it a bit thicker but you can barely notice. I also love the speed and don't recommend here if you don't want to sit long. Side note: I only did not go into my regular spot bc honestly it is mostly a hair salon and I never see another person getting their nails done there -I wanted coffin shape nails and figured LA Nails would be more knowledgeable about nails shaping since they're much busiesr but NOPE My nails are "short" as they are natural but I brought in several photos of "coffin shape" nails on short, natural nails-like mine and she said she could not do it, no problem-I rather they admit that than to attempt it and maybe ruin them, but I was still a bit confused. It's just a slight file on either side with a flat top? LASTLY, this is for info only. These are nice humans who are providing a service, exposing themselves to chemicals and a life that can damage their own beauty for our own sake, So TIP if you get a service. Advocate for yourself and ask questions/speak up if something looks wrong with your service but don't be rude, and at the end of the day we should all pay a bit more for better quality polish/service/and so these ladies/men can have a good living too. read more

I previoiusly wrote a review about this salon and I gave the rating little bit better. First of all I want to be clear I understand to write a review is all about rating the place so it gives an idea for the new customers to decide whether to visit the place or not in the future. With that being said I am not trying to bad-mouth anyone here. : ) I been holding off on writing this particular review because I am aware of the possible outcome it may bring. It been several times now the person (I am not going to mention any name here) who handle collect money for the service at this place has multiply think that I wasn't going to pay for the service rendered by acting doubtfully and questionly in an almost not trusting at ALL. I understand that its difficult and challenging at the same time to keep track of who paid and who didn't especially when the place is all fulled. But still I been coming here for quite some times now (long time loyal customer). And also I usually pay with my bank card and there is an additional fee applied which I am totally ok with it (I am aware of that because the banks have to charge the merchant a fee also) and whenever I add the tip to the service she always seem like that wasn't enough by either not smiling, not say anything or no thank you at all (I am very serious) Now I also know time are tough for everyone but still whatever amount of tips the customer give is all up to the customer and for whatever the amount might be its common courtesy to acknowledge by appreciate the nice gesture. And that's should go without saying for having a business. Now some of you reading this review might thinking and asking in your mind if all I said above was true "why am I still coming here when there are hundreds of other nail salon to choose from in the bay area?" Well every business and person have good and bad traits in them and I do love the works of the workers perform most of the times because I have been to other places but the quality of result is not the same. Some of the technicans really take their times instead of rushing to the next customer to gain more profits. Wow. That was excruciating. I tried to be nice and said from the beginning that I had an injury so I didn't want a massage, that I was ticklish anyway. At this, the young woman rolled her eyes and exchanged a look with the person next to her. Huh. Then - you know when the pedicurist grabs your foot so hard it's painful when they're scrubbing you down? Her fingernails were dug into me and it felt like she was crushing my bones. So I asked her nicely to be gentle. She balks and again laughs, dramatically rolls her eyes with the person next to her like a 13 year old. Really? I don't get to even have input here? They got in this wonderful nail polish that I just love. It's long wearing like shellac but it doesn't dry out my cuticles. I am not kidding you! This stuff will last a couple of weeks. Because I am on protein drinks and so many vitamins, mine grows out and has to be replaced long before it ever chips. It's the stuff in the black bottles-- it's called gelleration. If you're gonna try the long wearing polish, you might wanna try it. I love it. I have been getting #45-- Kensington Rose. Also, I can't say enough good things about Anh. She did my permanent eyeliner and I love, love, love it. She also did a great job on those lashes for me for $60! They were beautiful. They looked so natural and I felt like a queen. But, I got in the tanning bed and melted the glue. I had to go back to her and get them soaked off. So they didn't work for me because of the tanning. I have been coming to this nail shop for almost 8 years. I have always gone to Lynn as I like how meticulous she is, within recent years I have found that she is kind of rough now. Today I scheduled an appt and told Lynn I would be coming at 515 she said that was ok, I then called her because I was running 10 minutes late, she told me to give her 30 minutes. I said fine I'll kill a little time as I live in ANTIOCH. Walk in and she says I said tomorrow. I'm thinking to myself no you didn't but that's fine is there anyone else that can do my nails considering I had already driven so far. I feel like they don't value anyone's time here. I called to see if they accept walk ins and the lady told me yes and I'll be seen right away. I literally got there in 2 minutes and like she said I was seated right away. So that's where 1 starts come from. PEDICURE: The massage was really relaxing and good and all the lotions and stuff they use smell really good. I asked for white nail polish and she did a French instead, which I didn't mind because it looked nice. That's just not what I asked for. NAILS: Here is where my rating went down. I didn't ask for a fill I only asked for a CHANGE in color. She took an hour to change my color. I asked for a nude and she put a soft pink. As I got home I noticed that all the dry glue around my rhinestones are noticeable, making my nails look bulky. TOTAL: The total for my CHANGE IN COLOR was $25 plus $15 of rhinestones is 2 fingers and my pedicure was $27. I paid a total of $67 for something so simple . read more

Last Friday. March 2nd I decided to visit La Spa Nails as referral from my wife. I was seated pretty quick for a walk in and the customer service was good. It wasn't until 15 min into my pedicure that I noticed a sting in my right big toe from the nail technician scrubbing the side of my big toe with the Pumice stone, as I looked down I noticed my toe bleeding. I notified the nail technician of the blood, she asked if she did it. If you look at the picture attached the one on the left was right after it happened (3/2/18) and the one on the right is it's current state (3/6/18). I couldn't enjoy the rest of my pedicure due to the pain that I was in. I've had plenty of pedicures, and I've never had the side of my toe scrubbed with a pumice stone. I made and appointment and went to this salon while visiting relatives in the area. I had a shellac manicure, with UV drying which was outstanding and is still on my nails without a chip after two weeks. Tracy was my tech and she was very kind and meticulous. She did exactly as I asked and also did an excellent matching pedicure. The ambience of the salon was relaxed and the staff and manager were nothing but helpful. Salon was clean and prices reasonable. They did charge extra for my debit card use. If I visit San Leandro again, I'll be coming back for sure. read more

I called late Friday morning to get an appointment for a soak off and new (gel) set. They were able to fit me in at the exact time I wanted that afternoon! During the soak off my technician (blanking on her name) but she is lovely, the one who answers the phone, showed me this new technique product - Kiara Sky's Dip Powder. It is a color powder that can be applied directly to your nail or on tips. It's TRULY no chip (I've had some complications with gel color). Since it was my first time trying it I waited over a week to write the review and my nails are still cute, no chips, nothing broken. I've been getting facials here for about a year now. I think they run $50 a pop or purchase a package of five and receive a percentage discount (can't remember what it is though). The aesthetician's name is Anh, and she is extremely thorough with the extractions. Though painful (as facials with extractions are), I always walk out feeling like my face has been detoxified. Afterall, no pain, no gain, right? I've had my nails done a few times here, and they do a decent enough job. They charge a bit more than other local shops ($20 not including tip), which I consider a little pricey for San Leandro. On the plus side, they recently purchased new spa/massage chairs, which are AWESOME! The massage feature kneads your back, not just vibrates. Bottom line, don't expect a luxurious spa experience, but you will get a great facial for what you pay. read more

Do not go here if you are looking for a relaxing time or for your nails to be done correctly or in a timely matter. When I arrived I was greeted by one the nail techs eating at her work station. I told her that I wanted a mani and pedi. She asked me three more times before I sat down what I wanted. I was ushered to pedicure station, another tech arrived and started on my hands. She cut my cuticles in several spots making me bleed. After, she walked away and left me in the chair for another 20 minutes. Several other guest arrived and were helped before me. Honestly I could have done a better job painting them. I think the problem is they want to get people in and out as quick as they can and are just not concerned with anything else. You can make an appointment or walk-in, but what I like is that if you walk in, they will be honest and tell you if they can or can't take you, because I hate a place where they say they'll take you and you wait for an hour and then get crappy service. Eyebrow waxing isn't the best ever, but, they keep it safe and do a professional job at cleaning and shaping. So far, no bad experience there. I have been here 3 times for mani/pedi svc. The ladies are always really sweet. I like the massage you get with ur manicure. I got shellac twice and it turned out really nice both times. With regular nail polish, there are not many colors to choose from. Shellac has alot of colors. The prices are okay, $28 for shellac and I think $21 for pedi. I can't remember the exact price for pedi. I didn't like that the person doing my pedicure (who should be trained in this) didn't know that you couldn't massage certain parts of the ankle bcuz it induces labor. None of the ladies knew that. If ur giving out massages, you should know that the things you're touching can lead to changes in a persons body. Overall, a nice place. Clean, friendly service. read more

She then proceeded to rudely jerk my hand and burn me with the drill several times without even apologizing, openly gossip about customers with coworkers, and then blatantly lie to me. She told me she charged more for pedicures than my other place. I was suspicious of her at that point so I said "really? What do they charge?" She said "I don't know". My pedicure experience was no better, the guy hurt me several times and pretended not to notice. My friend was seated next to me for the pedicures, she was telling me that her experience was similar to mine. We were talking and waiting for our nails to dry when the young girl who had worked on my friends pedicure interrupted us and said "YOU PAY NOW". I don't even know why we were even surprised at how rude she was. I went here for a lash perm and decided to get an eyebrow and upper lip wax. Dawn was extremely nice and tried to make sure I was always comfortable. Her beside manner was very good considering that this appears to be a Vietnamese owned business. The attention to detail on my lashes and brows was amazing and she really seemed to try to make both sets as perfect as possible. The "spa room" isn't too relaxing as technicians are constantly walking in and out. The hygiene for the facial tools is questionable but since I haven't tried the facials (and probably won't), I can't attest to their quality and procedures. I paid $30 for lash perming (highly recommended for my straight, can't hold a curl to save your life ladies) and $16 for a eyebrow/upper lip wax combo. I cannot find any shop with as many options as these ladies. I can honestly say I hate going to other shops. I only do if I'm in a rush since I live further away now.
