LA Spice catered our 50th wedding anniversary held in our backyard for about 30 people with full service. We have a small house and yard but wanted to have it at home and Andrea is very experienced so had great advice for setup to make it work. The chefs prepared absolutely delicious appetizers and dinner in our tiny kitchen and it was served beautifully, buffet style, outside. Guests complimented how good everything tasted. The servers were all attentive, friendly and extremely professional. I'll start by saying that we were very pleased that we decided to have LA Spice cater a backyard welcoming party that we had in honor of our daughter's wedding. Andrea, our planner, was easy to work with and had great ideas. We had about 65 guests. There were 4 appetizers and 3 entrees, all delivered by passing, where the servers walk through the guests with servings on their trays. We arranged the bar supplies but hired a bartender through LA Spice. When I met the six staff (3 kitchen, 2 servers, 1 bartender) I was immediately impressed at how cheerful they all were. Each one seemed genuinely interested in providing us a great party, and that is what we got. The food was delicious and delivered efficiently. The kitchen staff made an effort on the spot to accommodate a couple of guests with unusual sensitivities. At the end, the clean up by the staff made it very enjoyable for us as hosts. Friends and family at the party commented to me on how great the event was. All in all, we couldn't be happier with the services provided by LA Spice. read more

4 years since I originally reviewed LA Spice they still deserve every one of those 5 stars. I have used LA Spice over the last four years for everything from Christmas lunches to Client Receptions and they are consistently fantastic to work with. LA Spice was my caterer of choice last week. I hosted two days of meetings for 150 of my co-workers. In fact, whenever these meetings are in LA, I always have LA Spice cater - I just know that they will do a great job, so why go anywhere else? With the addition of their new chef, they outdid themselves this year. I have never received so many compliments on the food! The meetings ended with a big blowout on Saturday night at the Natural History Museum and I had LA Spice cater and coordinate that event as well. The food was perfect, and the service flawless. Andrea, my coordinator, even went out and bought the place card holders I needed totally saving the day. Just used LA Spice to cater my daughter's 1 year old birthday party and was blown away again by the quality of food and service. I've used LA Spice multiple times over the years - they did my 30th "Goldmember" birthday party, a "West Coast Tea Party," and a murder mystery as well -- and every time they have been great. They help with decorating, and they get into the themes too ... for the Goldmember party, they all dressed like they were from the 70s, and for the West Coast Tea Party, they all wore pastel polo shirts. This time was no exception. We had about 60 people -- adults and children. Andrea helped me put together a menu that fit within the budget, and then the big day came. Everyone from the chef to the assistants and bartender were professional, friendly, service-oriented, and great at what they did. The food was delicious -- mini short rib sandwiches that disappeared like hotcakes, chicken & waffle bites, and even simple dishes like mac and cheese were top notch. What was more important was that my guests were not just raving about the food, but also that they had never seen a catering staff that was so nice. They went above and beyond to help out -- in setting up (helping with decorations) and also clean-up. And offered so many times to help people at the party. We just used LA Space Catering for our company's Holiday Party and everything was delicious and went over super well! We did the fresh vegetable spring rolls, the butternut squash empanadas, the mini Sicilianos, the watermelon planks with feta and mint, and the bacon tartlets. I can't rave enough about the food, especially those tartlets. We also had a dessert platter of the s'mores cookies which vanished into thin air, no one could get enough. I super recommend them! They were also very receptive through email when I had any questions or concerns leading up to my event, and everything went smoothly the day of. The quality of the service was on par with the quality of the food, which is just as important to me! I'm looking forward to many more events with them... and those s'mores cookies! read more

I was not the easiest customer (l was pretty last minute during the busy holiday season with a strict budget) but LeAnne was so kind and pulled it together for me and made it work. She was the BEST. To top it off, the food was delicious and everyone loved it. We had picky eaters, dietary restrictions etc. but like I said LeAnne made it work. We hired LA Spice to cater my mom's 80th and it was the most amazing affair. Elegant and classy without being fussy. Unique flavors and gorgeous presentation while being just super delicious. The servers were lovely and all the guests raved! We took over my god-sister's house and when the party was over, you would never have known that there was one, their clean-up was so immaculate. This was actually my third time working with them - we had used them before for my engagement party and my baby shower. From start to finish their work was divine. We have used LA Spice for events at my workplace for several years. My role was generally a peripheral one, but I knew from watching the delivery and set up, and as a beneficiary of left-overs, that their food was fresh and delicious, with attention to detail in every aspect of the order. For a recent event, I was in charge of ordering the food and coordinating delivery. We were serving lunch to a group of around 20 guests, with sandwich platters, fresh fruit bowl (comes with the sandwich order), pasta salad and dessert tray. Each dish comes with a beautifully printed tent card so that people know what each of the items are, and each platter/bowl has artful touches of decorative leaves or herbs. They worked with us to accommodate changes in the number of attendees and followed up on every aspect of the order from revised invoices to emailing a copy of the credit card receipt. Their delivery person arrived 5 minutes early and once he was shown to the room, set up the entire buffet with minimal direction, even loosening the cellophane wrap on the salads and placing plastic tongs and serving utensils on each dish, so that we had only to pull off the covers when our group arrived for lunch. The sandwiches are generously sized (we have them cut in half, for convenience and to eliminate waste if people don't eat a whole one) and their ingredients are of the highest quality, from meat or veggies, to bread or wrap, to spreads. If you want a caterer who will make your event impressive and reduce the time your staff has to spend making arrangements, LA Spice should be at the top of your list. read more

LA Spice, I tell people, is the best caterer in town and always hits the mark in all catagories: Quality of food, selection, service, and even price. I've used LA Spice for years for a lot of things, but when I got married, they were my first and my best call. Since I've used them for so long and they know me so well, all I really had to do was tell the owner, LeAnne, what the date, time, and location of my big day was. She knows what I love on her menu and she even resurrected some of my old favorites that she no longer has on her published menu just so my day would be perfect. Her attention to detail was unsurpassed, the buffet was absolutely gorgeous, and my guests were happy, busy, and having so much fun that I don't even think anyone knew I had not arrived yet. When I did arrive, everything was maticulously set up and she thought of things I didn't even remember to think about. She hand-picked a staff that fit everything I wanted and my day was not only one of the best days of my life so far, it was absolutely delicious. Everything I said was taken to heart and everything we'd spoken about on the phone and in person during the planning stages was carried out in careful detail, from the buffet design to the flowers to my shoes - yes! My shoes! My step mother brought my "lets get married" shoes and I would have gotten married in lime green flip flops if Leanne had not taken charge. Because I used L.A. Spice, I didn't have to incur the extra expense of a wedding planner, which can be an enormous expense. They are creative, innovative, and definitely a one-stop shop for weddings - or for pretty much anything that involves food, decor, and/or some well thought-out planning. I did not want a traditional wedding cake, mostly because this company has a master baker and all of their baked goods are unique, hand-made from age-old recipes, and better than anything I've ever bought or made myself. They made a huge cupcake tower, but also provided the most amazing array of fresh-baked cookies and bars. The day was perfect, and I'm convinced it was because of LA Spice. I would not go anywhere else, particulary for something that is as important as a wedding day. My wedding was at a large home in Huntington Harbor in Huntington Beach, and when the event was over you could not tell that a party had been had there. They left the home cleaner than it was before the event; they managed and navigated the space perfectly by utilizing the garage as a kitchen; and my guests absolutely RAVED about the food and service. I even found a special care package to take home that night, and the family who owns the home where we got married had one as well in their fridge. Who does that?
