Chef Robert and team are absolutely exceptional. I cannot begin to recap how delightful and flawless Sweetpea was for my event. To begin, I called Chef Robert to share with him an elaborate idea I had for a dinner on the beach. Chef was extremely thorough with me, asking specific details so he can gauge wether or not he can accommodate my expectations. Chef Robert even personally took the time out of his busy schedule to drive out to the location which I wanted to host this oceanside dinner so he can visualize how he and his team will deliver their amazing catered experience. I sincerely appreciated this as it showed me I was working with a wonderful individual who truly cared about helping out their clients and aligning with their vision. Come the big day chef had set up a tent on the beach and provided all my guests with menus with an overview of what they will be having that evening. Chef Robert prepared most ingredients off site and assembled his team under a tent to take orders from the patrons, as well as plate and serve food with amazing presentation and top notch service. Chef Robert delivered a 10/10 on all aspects outside of his core service which was the actual food. This brings me to the final portion of this review. Chef Robert and his team prepared an absolutely delicious menu. We had chefs from our own family present and they themselves were blown away by the quality and freshness of the ingredients. Chef Robert prepared a charcuterie board for guests to graze on before the event began with fresh cheeses, fruits, and breads. After the main event the party ordered either chicken or ahi tuna, both of which were outstanding and filled with flavor, and presented beautifully despite the limitations that chef and his team were preparing and serving all of this on the beach with limited access to kitchen utilities. For desert chef had prepared a set of 3 pastries -- lemon bar, tiramisu, and fruit tart. The guests were blown away at how delicious everything was and I was eternally grateful for how above and beyond Chef Robert and team delivered. Sweetpea has been my favorite catering experience ever. If I can give them 10 stars I would. Chef Robert and team are gracious, kind, and unbelievably accommodating. The BEST and EASIEST decision Kenley & I made for our wedding... ALL our guests are STILL complimenting the food some two months later. There isn't enough that I can say about Sweetpea - but I'll try. Sweetpea provided exceptional service from beginning to end; we met personally with Chef Rhee to discuss our needs, our expectations, & the logistics of our venue (and walkthrough). The amount of detail and attention that Chef Rhee provided to create a fresh and organic menu was AMAZING. And our follow-up with our tastings? BEYOND MAGICAL. Day of? Sweetpea arrived on time with all staff, food prepped & their visual setup was SUPERB. Sweet Pea Staff blew us away with how thoughtful, genuine & consistent they were with their service - not just to us, but to each and EVERY one of our guests. We had Sweet Pea's event manager, Matt, on site and we were provided with three wait staff/servers, bartender, sous Chef & were blessed to have Chef Rhee there in the flesh for our special day. Sweetpea's food tho... Our vision became a reality and then some with the magic Chef Rhee created at our bar, with our hors d'oeuvres, buffet and dessert spread; all our carnivores, vegetarians, vegans and sugar fiends were ecstatic. Our cocktail hour was filled with appetizers - the prosciutto-wrapped figs were a fan fav. Jason, our bartender, kept our open bar and specialty drinks flowing freely with practically zero wait times - our guests couldn't stop singing his praises. Both Jason & Matt also made sure that both Kenley & I always had our beverages of choice in hand... I couldn't get ENOUGH of the Roasted Stuffed Peppers and Kenley had the Rosemary Chicken AND the Tri-Tip - we both went back for seconds and thirds. And the dessert spread was PHENOMENAL. Miniature pies and cakes display (my fav was the blueberry crumb cake), French Macarons, Old Fashioned Sour Cream Doughnuts, S'mores Station & Chocolate Chip Cannolis gave each and every one of us LIFE. Eternally grateful to Chef Rhee & all of the Sweetpea Staff - thank you for treating us like royalty AND giving us some of the best food we've EVER had. Not only did I use Sweetpea Catering for my engagement party last March 2018 but I had them at my wedding and boy oh boy was it a hit with the guests. So many people came up to me and asked who the caterer was and also said it was the best wedding food they have ever had out of all the weddings they had been to. Chef Robert and his team including the Event coordinator, Nicole are awesome. We did our wedding food tasting with Robert back in May and it was like our own private dining experience. Along with this, Robert drove out an hour (twice) along with Nicole to do our walkthroughs at our venue with our coordinator. Chef Robert and Nicole are so great and you will be in great hands if you choose them for a small family dinner party, birthday, event or even as big as a wedding. You will be taken care of and you will have THE BEST FOOD EVER! I will definitely use Sweetpea Catering again for another event as Chef Robert is so kind and easy to work with. I just wanted to thank your team so much for the service at our wedding! Everyone really really loved the food and the presentation was amazing and your staff was incredible. We loved the Hawaiian theme with pineapples as decor and food served on palm leaves and wooden serving boards. Chef Robert also went out of his way to coordinate floral arrangements to match our wedding flowers which were sunflowers and roses! It worked out really great having your staff walk around to serve appetizers so people didn't have to leave conversations to get food. Sweetpea, led by Chef Robert, catered my wedding and it went just as we had envisioned! He worked with us step-by-step through the planning process and delivered on top of expectations. Appetizers went over great, and then from a variety of menus offered we chose buffet style over plated dinners, with tri-tip steak and rosemary chicken as the protein, stuffed peppers for the veggie options, with a delicious creamy mac-n-cheese side, as well as a nice salad. Everyone we talked to loved the choices...the great part about buffet style was trying all the main courses. And then..the desserts really topped it off. Sweetpea catered a private party for us during Coachella weekend this year. The food was extraordinary and the service impeccable! My company had a catered lunch yesterday with a grilled cheese bar. I picked the smoked brisket and cheddar cheese sandwich. I gotta say this grilled cheese was out of bounds delicious.. crispy on the outside, cheese perfectly melted with that hint of smokiness on the brisket.
