I want to say thanks to the staff that work in the Deli, panadería, and hot food station you all do a great job. While the girls that work on the registers either need to be fired or trained to have manners and professionalism. The fact that they seem bothered to do their job, which is to greet the customer and at least say good bye has me at a loss for words. The guys in the back at the meat section are always SO nice to us! But the girls in the front are either always talking amongst themselves or rude as well. My card and their outdated POS machines never work and Rossana told me today that my "card reached its limit of tries" which was not true at all. I said something in Spanish and Rossana looks at her coworker as if though she wanted to talk smack back. I don't appreciate the disrespect ever in life! They need to get older women with respect in this place because Rossana needs to work on her professionalism. This was my first time going into the supermarket and I was not disappointed. Everything here is bright, clean, and organized. My wife and I come here to pick up fresh fruits and pastries for those days that we want something a little sweeter. They have a deli, a panaderia, and lots of other things. I love that is open to people of all backgrounds and that you can find almost anything you need if you're looking to add a little more spice and flavor to your meals. While I understand that this market caters to the need of a specific community, I was a little put off by the customer service at the cashier check out. Even after expressing my gratitude in both English and Spanish, there was no response. However, they acknowledged my wife. I try my best to be as friendly as I can to people because I know I can look a certain way, but I thought that that was a little off. This, however, will not sway me from going back to this supermarket to purchase wonderful food for my household and treats for the workplace. I look forward to going back and supporting this little market a lot more throughout the year. read more

I only go there to buy once a month a certain seasoning, yesterday I went and cashier ignore me, walked away then she came back a minute later, her register light was on too, and rang me up for 3 items that should of cost me $16.47 she was charging me $42.16 for my items, I told her that is wrong, she said" no that is what the register says' check again I said: again with rudeness its, $42.16, no smile and no apology she changed it to $16.47 after she doodled with the register, no apology for her error. Her name Viviana, again every time I gone there the women on registers are always rude I even spoke Spanish to them to see if they treated me better, they didn't. And, I wanted to purchase a bag from UCDavis Children's Health Hospital Miracle, which I always buy at Walmart for $2, they wanted $5.00. I told her I volunteer for this Network we don't sell those bags for that much! KOSHER! Even when I left I said Merry Christmas! no response or have a nice day! I skipped reading everyone's opinion about this place. I don't know why it has such a low rating. But I think this place deserve a 3 star to be honest. Their fruits at times can't be as fresh or as ripe. Bleh! But they have an abundance of fresh lame and chile and some veges are fresh! Other than that, great selection of variety of food that you can take out to order and eat or dine in. Definitely a hybrid restaurant / grocery style... Only thing I can't stand about this place is their music. Went here to get a tres leeches cake, keep in mind I was in hurry and plan out everything so didn't had time to check it, I can't speak Spanish but they bring a dude to translate everything. Cool we on track. everything this dude wrote is on a peice of a paper, so you know the fucking instructions!!! Like the name is on the paper you had two things to do make the cake and spell the name. The cake tasted bitter and old as well the strawberry and lastly they spell my mother name wrong this was embarrassing because I couldn't do anything at 11pm. The name they put was Patti when it was supposed to be Katia you fucking idiots god dam it finish your high school and get your diploma. It'd be a great idea for the management of this store to remind their employees that not all of their white patrons only speak English, although the looks on their faces are priceless when I respond in Spanish after being talked about or lied to about being out of items that they've already promised to hold onto for their friends. SUPER EXPENSIVE nothing on sale.... and they are selling packages of cheese that has clearly been melted and not stored at a safe temperature! I'll include a picture... the cheese is literally partially melted in the package. Whoever put them on display saw these and still felt them safe to sell. Think about that. Who knows what their lack of safety regarding meat sales is like if this is how irresponsible they are with simple packages of shredded cheese! I also purchased a cake that tasted terrible and was very stale. I called the store and the manager Saul and he told me that all the bakery items are made on Fridays.... and that cake was made LAST Friday.... they don't sell as many of those particular cakes so they just kept the ones from last week. I started shopping here when prices went up at the grocery stores due to inflation. The vegetables and fruit were cheaper. I've been in there several times. Each time, the cashier's in the front across front from the liquor area and in front of the doors are rude to me. Their tone of voice is mean. I simply put my food on the conveyor belt and move up to the register to be rung up. At that point, none of them say anything to me. There is an awkward silence. Several times the female cashiers have conversed with various males that have approached them. Meanwhile I'm standing there feeling invisible. I buy my items, and then I say, "Thank you" to them before leaving. They don't say it to me. AND they don't even say, "You are welcome." The only reason why I am treated that way must be based on my looks or my perceived race. I don't know any one here. I moved here after the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA. So I think some of the front cashiers are racist. Unfortunate that they have made me feel badly every time I am in there. I won't go back. read more

To make things short, my mom decided to buy some last minute Mexican bread from there and as we were standing in line at the bakery check out my mom and I both SAW one of two older men working in the back LICK HIS FINGERS AND BACK OF HAND and continued to touch the dough!!! Once we told the lady bagging the bread, she LAUGHED and said she would talk to the man. Well she did but I never once saw the older man walk to a sink to wash his hands!! Even after being told that customers saw him lick his fingers and hand!! I'm not bashing the store well because what my mom and I saw was real...and DISGUSTING!! Not a regular customer as I don't live in the area. But my mother is, and she LOVES the food here (tamales, pupusas, chile relleno, etc.). They even have meat packages with decent prices! She bought me a torta and it was so good I suggested we come back a few days later! I've had my share of tortas and they are not all created equal. The cheese used inside (Panela), I've never had before. Can I just say it was DELICIOUS!!!!!! It's definitely in my top 3. I love the assortment of pastries. Cons: 1) I wish there were more English speakers but not a big deal as I could work with my limited Spanish. But I won't always be there to help my mom. 2) Customer service was a little lacking. The bakery lady dropped my cookie and the majority of the powdered sugar fell on the tray. I thought she might at least acknowledge it by saying "sorry/lo siento", "oops", or anything to that affect but she just kept bagging without missing a beat. And I was in a good mood just happy to be with family and enjoy good food. The experience was not bad enough to make me not want to eat here again.
