Quick entry for a chai tea latte and a cookie. Staff was pleasant and the service was quick.

Went to Panera at lunch today, ordered a soup. While I was waiting at the counter, I saw some orange scones at the register. There was no pricing on the bags of scones as you will see in the pictures. They were displayed on the counter between the registers in a wire rack, next to bags of choc chip cookies and individual cookies (one was pumpkin shaped; I don't recall the other). None of those four items had prices on them, but the standing sign right next to them listed only those four specific items, with prices. Orange scone $ 3.99. I selected a bag, he ran my card and I didn't take a receipt. When I asked the clerk to repeat what he said, he said it was $9.39. I picked up the sign, showed it to the clerk and told him the scones should be $3.99. He told me that was for one individual scone. The one he was referring to, was behind the glass case, on a stand, several feet to the right of the sign, along with other bakery goods. I went through with the transaction only because I used my debit card and had already been rung up, but in my opinion this was clearly deceptively false advertising. I am sure they don't really care, but they just lost my business.

    Bowl of French Onion Soup
    Marisa D.

Honestly I hate to admit this but when I'm jonesin' for some Broccoli Cheddar soup... Panera is the place I immediately think of. Once in a blue moon I crave their French Onion soup but more times than not I get the Broccoli Cheddar soup. This location was the original Panera I used to go to before they started popping up everywhere and I mean everywhere. So yes it's still Panera but this location has gotten a little odd if you will. First things first.... I don't understand the ordering from the kiosk or your table but maybe it's because I like interacting with people? I mean don't get me wrong Rapid Pick Up & Online Ordering make a group order almost impossible to screw up and super easy to order for everyone. So although my mom and I were standing online waiting for a live person to help us someone asked if we needed help with the kiosk? Wait... huh?! We weren't even looking at the kiosks. Secondly... we were eating in and Panera is known for giving you actual silverware. Unfortunately I had to go up and ask for a spoon since the spoon they gave me was plastic and had schmutz on it. I'm sorry I'm picky sometimes but it looked like it had food on it. Gross! At first the employees seemed a little hesitant to give me a regular spoon so I asked for a plastic one. At that point I wanted a spoon free of the food on it and I didn't care what it was. As long as I got a clean spoon I was getting very hungry. Finally... I don't know what was wrong but it sounded like a loud PA system humming the whole time we were there. Unfortunately for us it was super empty in Panera that day and all we heard was the hum. Oh well such is life. My French Onion soup was good and my mom's Broccoli Cheddar as she said "good. It warmed me up." We also split a really good cookie. I think it was a gluten conscious triple chocolate cookie with walnuts. Neither one of us is gluten conscious but this was an awesome cookie! Will I be back? Maybe? If I'm in the area or heading to Lord & Taylor and not wanting Blaze Fast Fire'd Pizza.

    Iced green tea - heaven
    Doug W.

Iced green tea is awesome. Although i do think this chain is a bit overrated, you need to order the right things and make it work for you. get the Iced green tea but, stay away from their chipotle chicken sandwich I hate the fake smoky taste. Most everything they serve has the same, hickory/smoke/crap flavor... if that's your thing, by all means, dig in. Now, getting down to the specifics, at the core of this place is a manager named (let's say "Judy." "Judy" doesn't care about you, your food, your comfort, or your satisfaction. Judy doesn't like what she does. Not only that, Judy isn't friendly, nor does she pretend to be or do any of the above... Judy is in the wrong line of work, and Judy deserves to be unemployed, and not compensated. The deficiencies of ill management run down to the lower level grouchy grunts, screwing up orders, spilling drinks, and simply forgetting to serve you. I went in today to order a sandwich, a simple task to some... this all went down hill the moment I stepped up to the register, placing my order a minute later than my girlfriend; I order a mozzarella panini but, wanted to add chicken (which I have done a half a million times before) for some reason this was confusing, and a big problem.. apparently a "no-no" but she could put some on the side... gee thanks would ya? So, anyway, the girl comes back, drops my green tea, and I am left waiting... WAITING as my girlfriend finishes what she has ordered and they have simply NOT made my sandwich. OK so I ask the fella what's up.. and what happens? JUDY asks the kid, what my problem is... MY PROBLEM? my problem is I havent gotten my order in the last 20 minutes, my drink is dripping from my foot, and you are an ugly, rude, incapable manager, and an awful excuse of a human being, THAT'S my problem... The most sorry person in the whole matter was the girl who couldn't speak but two words English and could tell I was more than upset... so she gave me an extra piece of bread... thank you. in conclusion, if JUDY is there... I will never be. Oh, the sandwich was cold, on hard and tasteless bread, and the entire restaurant was a filthy mess. Slowest panera I've been to but close to work. Gotta be there at the right time and hope this bad experience doesn't always happen (it doesn't)

"OK" is the most apt description I have of this place. Generally, the idea of buying a salad when I…read morecould make my own isn't the most appealing to me, so the salad has to be great or at least good. My wife thinks the salads are great. I think they are good. So why not a 4 or 5 review? Because this place really overcomplicates things--and I can't quite figure out why. There 6 or 7 people working at any given point. It's actually kind of funny watching because there are usually 2 who don't know where to stand or what to do. But they make you fill out a form and then, more times than not, THEY ASK YOU INFORMATION THAT YOU JUST GAVE ON THE FORM! YO! C'MON! I imagine that the form idea came around in the name of efficiency. But this is asinine, and this is either one of those solutions for a problem that doesn't exist... or it is a solution that is implemented very poorly. But the best (worst) is today when the form is filled out that I want the salad chopped and the dressing on--and the person asks me if I want the dressing on--and then the salad comes neither chopped nor dressed! All the while, there are all these people handling my salad and form (because, as I said, people need to find something to do), and no one bothers to double-check?? Wouldn't that be a good use of a person?? So, this place is OK. The salads are good or better. But the processes are odd, if not a little funny.

I ordered a Build Your Own Bowl with all my favorite things and it was yummy enough. I wanted a little more flavor and in retrospect, should have asked for a little more lemon juice. It tasted like it was left out but I didn't mention. Pro tip: If you like your salad chopped, I recommend you ask them to chop it smaller. My friend ordered hers chopped and it was barely chopped. So I was glad I was able to intercept mine before it was prepared. I don't like it finely chopped but I like the lettuce to be bite-sized, not big pieces. I mean, what's the point of asking for it chopped? Lots of options for add-ins. Most of my friends liked their salads too. Space was lovely, super clean, and the manager who helped us was great. I wish I got her name but she had impressive biceps. Looking at the photos of The Greenery in Sayville, you could say the Islip location is an annex. It's a much smaller space with seating for about 13. I wish the Greenery much success in my neighborhood. Solid eatery for fresh salads, bowls and smoothies. I hope they might participate in 2 Good to Go. :)

I asked for the slices to be made well done, and they were cooked to perfection! So good! There was so much flavor in each slice...it was a party in my mouth. We were told they had a great bingo night and fantastic food and drinks. That proved to be an excellent recommendation. The Wayward is located in the heart of the quaint village of Sayville. It is a spacious establishment with a large bar, plenty of tables as well as booth seating . We sat at the bar and were immediately greeted by the bartender Brian. He was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the food and drink choices. He took the time to note our preferences within the dishes offered. It was apparent to us that Brian and the 2nd bartender Meg were extremely hard working, friendly and efficient. We started with a few drinks. Nothing fancy. I had a rum & coke and my wife went with Prosecco. Both were good. For dinner I went with gnocchi with chicken sausage in a pink cream sauce Absolutely fantastic! The kicker was the large dollop of fresh mozzarella on top. My wife chose the Chicken Milanese with roasted potatoes . She noted that the chicken was pan seared, breaded , moist and delicious. She opted to get it without the tomatoes and onions that accompany it. The potatoes were amazing. (I snagged a few so I can confirm this!) Deliciously seasoned, crispy on the outside moist and creamy on the inside. The bingo was also great! Chris was a great host. The prizes were great , although we didn't win anything. All in all a great night! A pleasant change of pace . We fully recommend The Wayward whether it for bingo night or dinner and drinks . Fantastic atmosphere, great food, great service.
