Fajitas, chicken & shrimp combo

Authentic Mexican with a large menu with most reasonable prices. Service was good. Everyone at my table enjoyed their food. More than enough for fonner6so we all had leftovers gor lunch.

Fajitas - beef was great, could have used more green peppers

Pleasant, busy Mexican restaurant with an extensive menu and friendly service. Started off on a sour note as we were thirsty for a cold draft beer, but all they had was bottles. I was hungry for some veggies so opted for the beef fajitas expecting lots of onions and green peppers, but I think there was maybe one slice of green pepper :-( The beef was excellent though, lots of flavor and perfectly grilled. The plate on the left with all the extras was huge, no way I could finish all that! My wife had a seafood dish which was loaded with shrimp and scallops, she really enjoyed it. Overall a respectable Mexican place, we are from Tucson so we are spoiled when it comes to good Sonoran cuisine, but would definitely return to Tapatia the next time we are in Boise.

Realllyyy good authentic Mexican food. We had shrimp, pork, and chicken street style tacos. Really good and plated perfectly with everything you need. Will definitely be back.

First time here and the restaurant it's very clean. The service was okay. The food wasn't bad I just didn't think it had too much of the authentic Mexican food taste, it was missing something. Don't get me wrong it had lots of flavor but not my satisfaction. My boyfriend didn't think the mole tasted like mole I tried it and the taste of mole was very mild. The service was ok. He was nice but lack a little bit more of enthusiasm and cheerfulness. Over all it wasn't too bad but I t

Okay, so I'm not normally the 1st to suggest a Mexican restaurant, but I went along with a brunch group as they all gave good reviews. Easily spotted off of Parkcenter with an ample parking lot, it also features some outside seating in the summer, as well. The restaurant is spacious and just the atmosphere you would expect. Staff are all friendly and professional, warm and inviting. Our server was Papa Bear, assisted by Juan Carlos. I always seek fresh in-house brewed iced tea, and they did not disappoint. Served in a large cup with a thick, juicy wedge of lemon. As expected, we were served tortilla chips to begin our experience along with what appeared to be housemade salsa and refried beans as a dip. The menu held no surprises, holding all the usual suspects of a Mexican restaurant. For me, the food was decent, but nothing too exciting. Everything came out exceedingly fast to the point that we all remarked. The food did taste as if it was made in-house, but certainly prepared earlier in the day and then quickly plated for us. I was the only diner to make a slight change in my menu, and thus, mine was last to come out of the kitchen as expected, but not late at all. I ordered the lunch chimichanga which came with tomato broth rice and the same refried beans that were served with the tortilla chips, but this time covered with some melted cheese and accompanied with a side of pico de gallo, lettuce, and generous scoops of sour cream and guacamole. Portion sizes seem perfect as most everyone barely finished their meals. At the end of our meal, dessert was not offered, but perhaps we will indulge on our next visit. If you are seeking a reliable choice that is clean, tasty, and friendly, you can't go wrong with La Tapatia. However, you will enjoy your meal and then soon forget it if you have been expecting a more memorable experience.

Stayed at the hotel next door and needed a bite to eat. Went at lunch time and it wasn't too busy. It was a bit pricey but overall good food. The cheese enchilada and tamale combo was good. The best part about this place? They bring salsa and refried beans to start! If you're looking for a place to curve your Mexican craving, this isn't a bad option!

Two Tacos-lunch menu

Stopped in for a quick bite for lunch. Place was slammed for St. Patrick's Day. Everyone eating meat on a Friday given a pass during lent. I ordered two tacos off the lunch combo menu and hubby picked off same menu the taco and one enchilada. Chips, salsa and beans were delivered as we waited for our food. Their salsa was amazing. Bean dip is something new I haven't quite gotten used to. My mother loved it when I'd visit her and our ranch here. I'm more simple, just salsa. Save the beans for my burrito or plate. Their beans tho are fantastic! The place is cute inside. Not that I really care, as long as it's clean. And clean it was. Service was perfect. I'd go back again and again. The meat in my tacos was picadillo which I make all the time a Cuban version. This was pulled beef and it was so tender and tasty. Hubby got chicken and likewise was delish. Five stars!

Matthew provided excellent service at the bar. I invited some folks and we were in Olivia's section. Perfect service. Beautiful. Knowledgeable. Fun. We had the enquires and device. Delicious. Portions were huge. Many different options of plates that were on the Happy Hour Menu. We also had the Red Velvet Church's. So airy. So light. Compliments to the chef. It's very inviting, if not decadent feeling. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were lacking. My mocktail was recommended by our server, but it was much too sweet, and had a weird aftertaste. We ordered chips, guac, and it came with two versions of salsa. One was incredibly bitter (tasted very vinegar-y), while the other just tasted strange. Neither me or my husband like it. The guac, however, was very good. We ordered the Seafood Ceviche, which is a dish we usually love, but not so much here! It was covered in an orange sauce that was overly acidic. It was so much and so acidic, we couldn't taste the seafood. It was lost in the sauce. It seems as though whoever's in the kitchen lacks some culinary intuition. The staff were good. It'a dimly lit, even during the day, for those with sight issues.

With my new kidney, I had to get my own sides since I can't really share food with my friends. I got some chicken tortilla soup and some brussel sprouts. The nachos did look amazing but I knew it we going to be too much food for me. Soup was full of chicken, corn and tortillas. The broth was rich and savory. It could have been a tad warmer but it was still delicious. My brussel sprouts were crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. I love the sweet and savory glaze that we used! Every bite was delicious. Service was great tonight. Our server did a great job making sure our drinks were never dry. The atmosphere here is always on point. The food was fantastic as always. I look forward to coming back for another round of happy hour soon!

Such weird and potentially homophobic behavior from the waitstaff here last night. (My best friend i was with and her fiance are lesbians so i am not sure whether or not the staff's behavior had to do with that or if they are just normally this rude) Walked in with a group of friends for one of their birthdays just trying to find a place for a nice dinner. According to the waitlist we were supposed to be seated fairly quickly (within 10 minutes we were told) but we ended up waiting for about a total of 30 minutes. We waited patiently outside for about 20 and then decided to step inside to see what was going on. Waitstaff had about 4 tables that they were dealing with but there was honestly probably more servers than active tables in the restaurant, there was a NUMBER of open tables while we stood at the front confused since we were the ONLY people waiting. Not a glance from any of the servers, not a "have you been helped yet?" nothing. We continued to stand there as 3 servers bussed ONE table together which was just so completely bizarre and they clearly were trying to avoid acknowledging our presence. As a server herself, one of my friends was just completely confused as to how multiple servers came up to where we were standing to use the POS system and then walk off without saying a word to us. When my friend inquired with the waitstaff about why we hadn't been seated yet, she rudely said "YOURE ON THE WAITLIST SO YOU NEED TO WAIT". We went to the funky taco next door, who had us greeted & seated immediately. The Matador will never have our business and we certainly wont be recommending them to anyone, ever. FYI Matador, this seems like an ongoing issue for you with your hosts and servers being miserable people after looking at your one star reviews so you might want to do the same and do something about it before you continue losing out on business.

Walking in, this place is so colorful and vibrant! I love the pretty water fountain as soon as you walk in and the pretty art piece that was hanging above it. The whole venue looks like a fiesta so you know you're about to have a great time! We got sat. A sweet gal dropped off a couple waters, chips and salsa. Nothing like starting your afternoon with chips and salsa! Adri came shortly after and grabbed drink orders. I got a virgin mango margarita today. She asked if I wanted the rim salted or tajined. I totally would have but I have to watch my salt intake. Without the salt and tajin, that mango margarita was money! It was so good! It was perfectly blended! It had a good amount of mango to it. It was absolutely delicious! For lunch I got a shredded beef taco and shredded beef enchilada for lunch. It also came out with a side of rice and beans. The plate looked fabulous! I appreciate the peas and carrots in the rice! It added another texture to it. The rice and beans were nice and hot! Super tasty! The beef in my enchilada was tenders and flavorful. The sauce was rich in color and flavor. I like that there was a slight heat to everything. It wasn't overwhelming. I didn't get a chance to eat much of the taco. I did take a bite and it was good! I do wish that the tortilla didn't get all soggy. One side of the taco was great but the other was drenched in fluid. I also did find hard pieces of rice in the side of rice i got. Kind like it's been sitting too long and it dried out. It wasn't the best the chew. I'm happy I got to try this joint out today! Adri was fantastic and did a great job taking care of us! My margarita was top notch! The food was good and the venue was so much fun. Looking forward to coming back and trying other goodies of their menu with another bomb ass margarita!

I've been here for almost 2 years and the BEST Mexican food I have found was in Twin Falls. NO I do not want to go to Twin Falls to get Mexican food, especially w/ the price of gas now. I was searching online for a new restaurant to go to for lunch and for some reason "Garibaldis Garden City" popped up. First, Garibaldis, does not really sound like a Mexican restaurant, but after reading the reviews and checking out their website, I am thinking why not...can't be any worse than Andrades, Chapala or Barrigas. Went in around noon, not crowded, but again its gorgeous outside, and I like a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server (bartender) Michael (who is from San Diego) was great. We really didn't need any recommendations because I already had set in my head what I was going to order. We started out with the "salsa flight", 3 different salsas, 1 smokey hot sauce, 1 more chunky and a mango habanero" which all 3 were very good. I loved that there was actually some spice and heat in all 3. Okay, the Mango it grows on you, the more you eat it the better it gets. We also ordered a maggie on the rocks w/ Casa Amigos Reposado and a ranch water with the Blanco. I also ordered the Coctel Garibaldis, which is shrimp & octopus and the shrimp was nice and large and the octopus was a nice size, NEITHER was mushy, THEY BOTH tasted so fresh (enough to share). For our main, Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada....I normally do not like the refried beans here in Boise at the Mexican restaurants we have tried, but these beans tasted like HOME, LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW MADE THEM~! The chicken fajitas ...there was actually MORE CHICKEN than peppers which is a 1st...and it was huge slices and chunks. My Carne Asada, OMG, huge amount and it was so flavorful, I doubt I could have done any better. NOW, I am a tortilla snob and I make my own flour tortillas, but THEY HAD SERIOUSLY LITERALLY the best DAMN corn tortillas I have tasted in YEARS! They almost look like flour, but once you taste them, incredible. We (he) ordered the Coco Flan for dessert, I don't do dessert so I ordered the Casa Azul Anejo....met 2 women drinking Maggies, we agreed, if we are going to do calories, we are drinking them and not eating them...but in all, the SERVICE, Food, the atmosphere, was all worth it. Will we go again, YOU BET, I may even have to sneak over for a few lunches by myself it was that good. Again, thanks Michael, you were on Point!

We got some tacos as well and not sure if she mixed up another ordered but we were short 3 tacos on our order and that was a bummer.. I was really looking forward to them. Their asada, carnitas, el pastor were all really good and authentic flavor and loved that the pastor had the pineapple chunks as well. One thing I did dislike was I asked about chips order and it said $5 when I asked her if I can just have a couple, she was a bit confused and asked the lead there. Apparently they didn't have chips in their truck and had to go find them. That should have been my no thank you but I figured ohh let's give them a try. Once we got to our house and saw the $5 chips I was honestly a bit upset they were store bought nacho chips. Tacos are $2.50 I don't understand why chips are $5 and they aren't even like your traditional Mexican chips or something along those lines. That was my only downfall to this place but those are just chips. Their food was honestly good no doubt about it when we were ordering they had a few people eating there and a few to go orders. Maybe take them off the menu or make little baggies and purchase chips from a Mexican store or make your own tostadas..
