    Let's eat
    Dani S.

I had Albondigas soup over the weekend and now I'm obsessed to see who all makes it in the valley. Corona Village is on my way to work so I thought I'd stop in for a quick lunch. Walking in, I was instantly greeted by the hostess. She was very sweet. I got sat at a booth and my server came shortly after. He came with a basket of chips and salsa. I did try a chip and some salsa but my teeth were still hurting from my wisdom teeth removal. But from what I tried, the chips were crunchy and the salsa was fresh! I grabbed a small portion of the Albondigas soup and a cheese quesadilla for lunch. I didn't wait long. I was 1 of only 3 quests there. My soup came out beautifully plated and my quesadilla looked cheesy! My soup was rich in color and the meatballs looked good. I noticed carrots, potatoes and celery. The texture of the soup was more like a stew, it was thick. You can taste the tomatoe in the soup. The potatoes and carrots were cooked nicely and were easy to chew. I do wish there were more veggies to the soup. I got 2 pieces of carrot and a chunk and a half of a yellow potato. The soup was also heavy on the saltier side. I couldn't eat much of the soup as it got to be too much. My quesadilla was crunchy on the outside but unfortunately the cheese in the middle was still cold and not melted all the way. Which was a complete bummer since it looked so good! The venue is clean. The staff is super nice! My server did a great job taking care of me. He also had the prettiest eyes! But the food was just ok. I have heard great things about this joint so I do look forward to going back! Today just didn't hit for me but maybe next time it will.

I have driven by this place hundreds of times but have never stopped in. Tonight my wife and I were Christmas shopping and out later than we planned and we saw this place. It was given four stars and I couldn't agree more. The restaurant was small but the food was excellent. I had the special, which was chicken with mushrooms, cooked in garlic, with rice, beans, and corn tortillas. It was fresh and absolutely delicious. My wife had the carne asada and she loved it. The portions were large and you won't go home hungry. This place is definitely worth stopping.

Great neighborhood spot! The service was quick and friendly. The atmosphere is relaxed, making it a comfortable place to grab a bite. We enjoyed the food overall! The flautas were crispy and had a nice crunch while the chicken carnitas were well-seasoned and flavorful. I felt the portions were generous as well!

Had a great experience at Corona Village on State Street today!! (4334 W State Street) I tried their "Healthy Chicken" and it was SO good!!! It was cooked in olive oil with traditional Mexican seasonings served with veggies and salad! We met the owner, Javier, who was super nice and he recommended the bacon wrapped jalapeno poppers (served with a bell pepper jelly) as an appetizer. We also had Javier's Platter which was two platters with bacon wrapped shrimp and carne asada served with tortillas and all the trimmings! It was FANTASTIC and the flan really put the finishing touches on lunch! Next time, I'm just going to order the Healthy Chicken but keep in mind, it's enough food for two people or take home for a yummy and healthy dinner

First time trying. In Boise on business. Salsa was fresh and slightly spicy. Chips were on point being slightly warm I ordered a plate with pollo and mushrooms with onions. Business partner ordered fajitas. Both lots of food! Service was good and prompt. I'd come back here again. Seemed like a nice place and many customers obviously have been here before because they were greeted like "regulars" Give it a try.

Good solid choice for mexican food. Fajitas were good and had enough left overs for lunch the next day. Great service! Server was excellent!

It's very inviting, if not decadent feeling. Unfortunately, the food and drinks were lacking. My mocktail was recommended by our server, but it was much too sweet, and had a weird aftertaste. We ordered chips, guac, and it came with two versions of salsa. One was incredibly bitter (tasted very vinegar-y), while the other just tasted strange. Neither me or my husband like it. The guac, however, was very good. We ordered the Seafood Ceviche, which is a dish we usually love, but not so much here! It was covered in an orange sauce that was overly acidic. It was so much and so acidic, we couldn't taste the seafood. It was lost in the sauce. It seems as though whoever's in the kitchen lacks some culinary intuition. The staff were good. It'a dimly lit, even during the day, for those with sight issues.

Walking in, this place is so colorful and vibrant! I love the pretty water fountain as soon as you walk in and the pretty art piece that was hanging above it. The whole venue looks like a fiesta so you know you're about to have a great time! We got sat. A sweet gal dropped off a couple waters, chips and salsa. Nothing like starting your afternoon with chips and salsa! Adri came shortly after and grabbed drink orders. I got a virgin mango margarita today. She asked if I wanted the rim salted or tajined. I totally would have but I have to watch my salt intake. Without the salt and tajin, that mango margarita was money! It was so good! It was perfectly blended! It had a good amount of mango to it. It was absolutely delicious! For lunch I got a shredded beef taco and shredded beef enchilada for lunch. It also came out with a side of rice and beans. The plate looked fabulous! I appreciate the peas and carrots in the rice! It added another texture to it. The rice and beans were nice and hot! Super tasty! The beef in my enchilada was tenders and flavorful. The sauce was rich in color and flavor. I like that there was a slight heat to everything. It wasn't overwhelming. I didn't get a chance to eat much of the taco. I did take a bite and it was good! I do wish that the tortilla didn't get all soggy. One side of the taco was great but the other was drenched in fluid. I also did find hard pieces of rice in the side of rice i got. Kind like it's been sitting too long and it dried out. It wasn't the best the chew. I'm happy I got to try this joint out today! Adri was fantastic and did a great job taking care of us! My margarita was top notch! The food was good and the venue was so much fun. Looking forward to coming back and trying other goodies of their menu with another bomb ass margarita!

I've been here for almost 2 years and the BEST Mexican food I have found was in Twin Falls. NO I do not want to go to Twin Falls to get Mexican food, especially w/ the price of gas now. I was searching online for a new restaurant to go to for lunch and for some reason "Garibaldis Garden City" popped up. First, Garibaldis, does not really sound like a Mexican restaurant, but after reading the reviews and checking out their website, I am thinking why not...can't be any worse than Andrades, Chapala or Barrigas. Went in around noon, not crowded, but again its gorgeous outside, and I like a relaxed atmosphere. We sat at the bar, our server (bartender) Michael (who is from San Diego) was great. We really didn't need any recommendations because I already had set in my head what I was going to order. We started out with the "salsa flight", 3 different salsas, 1 smokey hot sauce, 1 more chunky and a mango habanero" which all 3 were very good. I loved that there was actually some spice and heat in all 3. Okay, the Mango it grows on you, the more you eat it the better it gets. We also ordered a maggie on the rocks w/ Casa Amigos Reposado and a ranch water with the Blanco. I also ordered the Coctel Garibaldis, which is shrimp & octopus and the shrimp was nice and large and the octopus was a nice size, NEITHER was mushy, THEY BOTH tasted so fresh (enough to share). For our main, Chicken Fajitas and Carne Asada....I normally do not like the refried beans here in Boise at the Mexican restaurants we have tried, but these beans tasted like HOME, LIKE MY MOTHER IN LAW MADE THEM~! The chicken fajitas ...there was actually MORE CHICKEN than peppers which is a 1st...and it was huge slices and chunks. My Carne Asada, OMG, huge amount and it was so flavorful, I doubt I could have done any better. NOW, I am a tortilla snob and I make my own flour tortillas, but THEY HAD SERIOUSLY LITERALLY the best DAMN corn tortillas I have tasted in YEARS! They almost look like flour, but once you taste them, incredible. We (he) ordered the Coco Flan for dessert, I don't do dessert so I ordered the Casa Azul Anejo....met 2 women drinking Maggies, we agreed, if we are going to do calories, we are drinking them and not eating them...but in all, the SERVICE, Food, the atmosphere, was all worth it. Will we go again, YOU BET, I may even have to sneak over for a few lunches by myself it was that good. Again, thanks Michael, you were on Point!

It's been a while since he has had their tacos so today for lunch he asked me to grab him some. It's my first time in this joint. Walking in, it's quite loud and fun! It's got music going. Many patrons eating and talking. There are bright colors and banners everywhere. It looks like a fun and vibrant venue to have a good meal at. I ordered at the register. The gal that was helping me gave me basic service. Your average customer service. I grabbed 4 carne asada tacos without onions and cilantro for the husband and the chicken flauta combo meal for myself. I grabbed a table to hang out at while my order was being made. I wanted to grab some salsa to go at the sauce bar. There wasn't any to go cups available so I did ask someone for some. She said she would go grab some for me and never did. My food finally showed up and I had to ask another gal for the to go cups. I finally got my sauces and headed out the door. First glance at the food, I was excited! Everything looked fresh and delicious. The cheese was melty on the tacos. The quac, rice and beans looked good in my to go plate. But looks can be deceiving. Unfortunately, the carne asada was so dry. Dry in texture and just tough. Like the meat has been sitting for a while and they just grabbed the top helping of meat instead of mixing it. We did add a good amount of lime to add some wetness to the taco but it didn't help. Out of 4 tacos, my husband only ate 2. The chicken flautas looked promising. The tortilla was airy and crispy. I wish I can say good things about the chicken. The chicken pieces were too big. You would take a bite and the whole chicken chunk would come out. It was also dry and unflavored. The only thing that slightly helped the flauta was the sour cream and quac. The rice and beans were pretty generic so they were good. I spent 32 bucks on this meal for us to only eat half of. I don't know what happened for my husband to say the tacos were legit a while back to end up ordering this mediocre meal today. So disappointed with every part of my meal. Customer service was ok. So many fantastic Taquerias out there but this joint isn't one of them.
