The hubby and I went for an impromptu lunch date while we were out running errands. It was about 1:30 on a Monday and there were only a couple other tables seated. The service was fantastic! We were seated immediately, they took our order and we had food in front of us in less than 15 minutes. Our server was very attentive but not hovering. The chips, salsa and bean dip to start were 100%. I could have filled up on that alone. I got the chimichanga and my husband got the chile rellano and enchilada combo lunch special. Our food came out hot and quick. My chimichanga was delicious and stuffed with shredded chicken. My husband's food was also very good, but didn't have as much meat filling as mine did. The food here is pretty good (for Boise) and the servers here do their best to act professional and I really appreciated the effort. The ambiance is like a classic Mexican American restaurant. Went to Fiesta Guadalajara recently and honestly it was such a fun time! The place has this lively energy, you walk in and it already feels like a little celebration. Staff was super welcoming and checked on us just enough, made everything feel easy and relaxed. The food came out hot and smelled sooo good, I dug into my plate right away lol. Portions were big, like you def wont leave hungry. Chips and salsa kept coming and I loved that alot. Everything tasted fresh and full of flavor, just hit the spot. Food was delicious. Hubby had a chicken burrito. It was quite large and seasoned perfectly with very generous amounts of chicken. I had the chili relleno and a shredded beef enchilada combo plate. The chili relleno is one of the best I've had in sometime. Not smothered in some kind of red sauce. It had just the right amount of melty cheese. Service was good. Been dozens of times in four years. Posting a review as the location has noticeably backslid in the last year or so. Would recommend takeout only as the interior is stale and service is understaffed at this point. Food is good, but use to be great. Ingredients are of top quality, yet the food is becoming bland. Additionally the price has increased 15-20%, a bad combination when food is suffering too. I will still be ordering, just at lower frequency. Still best Mexican takeout in SE Boise. For real review, I've been here a dozen times and have done to-go orders - handful of times. The food is good and the staff are great. Nachos Deluxe will feed 2-3 people. Flautas are delicious. All there food is good. They can handle larger groups very easily. To react to bad reviews, sure they don't give you a ton of FREE chips but that's a good thing so you don't fill up on the plain chips & salsa. It's plenty for number of people at the table unless you're a fatty looking to shovel chips into your face. Not even 1 star! We usually like this place. Our server was just awful. Our food was cold and soggy. He never checked to see if we were happy with our order. We waited and waited. Finally walking out. We told the gentleman on the way out we shouldn't have to pay as we didn't eat the food because it was so bad. Instead of addressing the problem he started taking pictures of and told us to smile and he would call the police. So of course I paid for it. It was a horrible experience. The food is OK, generic everyday Mexican food, nothing special nor terrible The problem with this place is how stingy they are with the chips and salsa. The basket they give you to start is not full at all and the menu says if you want more it costs $1.50 for each new basket. We were done with our basket fast and never got a new one. Nobody ever came by to offer another. They just came by with our meals, left them and we never saw them again. Never got a drink refill either. Just god awful service. And no the restaurant wasn't busy, there were only about four tables occupied at the time. After reading the reviews I struggled to check out the food. I was pleasantly surprised that the food was pretty good. I ordered a combo of an enchilada and a chili relleno. It wasn't a crunchy relleno. It was a soft one with an egg encasing. I really liked it. The chicken enchilada was pretty great too. I have to admit that the relleno sauce was bland and tasted as if it was from a can but by putting their delicious salsa on top, made it more flavorful! You can ask your sever from some hot sauce and they will bring out some traditional hot sauce from a bottle or some they have either made or bought somewhere. No matter where it came from, it is sure to add the kick some people want with their Mexican food. Service was a bit slow but I think the poor gentleman had the whole place to watch by himself. So for being the lone soldier in the place, he did great! Chips and salsa are clutch. I give their salsa a 4/5 star. In the end, I don't think this place is as bad as the reviews make it seem, however, I know most places are hit and miss and so I look forward to making it back to see if it is consistent. read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. I missed Cinco de Mayo, but their sign was still up on seis, so I stopped in. Clean and pleasant restaurant. You are served a great salsa and a small dollop of refried beans with "a less than generous" basket of chips. On the menu it says the first serving of chips are complimentary and refills for the chips are $2. I thought that was both an unusual practice and kind of expensive for such a small portion of chips (and there was only one person at my table.) The chips did not make it through the salsa and a very kind server asked if I wanted more, but another basket would have been too much and I certainly was not going to spend $2 to use up a couple of tablespoons of salsa. This is my only criticism of this restaurant. The food was pretty good and their special for Cinco de Mayo made it even better. $3 beers and the tacos al pastor were the special for $10.75. I could not finish the special, it was good but had I been charged the regular menu price for this meal, I would have thought it was a little spendy for "ok" Mexican fare. All in all, I am happy to have finally gotten to dine at Fiesta Guadalajara. It is an ok stop, but I probably will not go back. I am a frugal restaurant eater and I expect a lot more for the money. read more

Delicious Mexican food, fresh ingredients, and family recipes. They have the best Chili Verde I have had in the Treasure Valley, quality meat, no fat. The dinner plates are large, I always have leftovers. The dinners do not lack food, and I particularly like that the food is served hot, as is the plate. What it is not: authentic Mexican food (whatever that means-since I'm sure most people haven't been in some Mexican pueblo for months in order to become an expert...). It's Mexicanish but tasty. If you want something more street taco-esque or different, hit up Carniceria Coacolman. What it is: reliable, clean, and fast. Plus, super with it waitstaff. The salsa is on point with plenty of zip. Some of the best iced tea in town. Happy space with lots of natural light. Give it a try and judge for yourself. I've taken plenty of folks there for lunch and they've become converts. read more
