I've been to Chapalas in Nampa twice recently. Excellent prompt seating, service, and the food was delicious. Really nice environment. I was visiting my boyfriend who lives in Nampa, Idaho and he wanted to take me out to Dinner.. he said Chapala's is one of the best restaurants he has found since he moved to the area a couple years ago and I LOVE Mexican food so naturally he decided to take me here. We were seated right away, service was very friendly and attentive and the restaurant was clean and had an overall nice ambiance. The chips and salsa were good. I had a couple blackberry flavored margaritas and they were delicious! Tasted just like blackberry and were the perfect combination of sweet and strong. I believe the drink my boyfriend got was the Cadillac which he liked, I had a little sip of his and it was good but much stronger than my margarita. A lot of items on the menu looked great but ultimately I went with the sunrise enchiladas which are your choice of enchiladas topped with a couple eggs because I love eggs, I never get sick of them and could eat them different ways multiple times a day... much like I did this day as he made me eggs for breakfast too! I got my enchiladas with just cheese and onions topped with the eggs and they were very good as well as the refried beans ! The rice wasn't anything special in my opinion but my boyfriend really loves their rice... it's just too dry for my taste. He likes to get their steak burrito for his entree which is big and looks appealing as well. All in all, it's a great restaurant.. I wouldn't say it's higher quality than say Azteca's which is a Mexican restaurant local to me in Washington state but I'd say it's on that same level. I highly recommend the flavored margaritas and enchiladas here - the enchiladas have just enough cheese to where you can choke on them and that's exactly the way I like it! We definitely were full after eating our entrees.. we didn't leave enough room this time for the deep fried sugar sticks that are shaped like Okra but we definitely left satisfied and that's what matters most. First time in Idaho, my friends took me here for lunch. I spent 30 years in California and the last 2 in Arizona, many vacations in Mexico, so my expectations on Mexican food is high. I had a combination plate that had a beef taco, chicken enchilada, and tamale, with rice and refried beans on the side. It was all ok, probably as good as it gets in Nampa. Its a Chevys style restaurant and the food is comparable, fair to good. The staff were super friendly and attentive. I would give the food a 3 and the staff a 4. read more

Well my goodness. That was a surprise. Apparently they were voted best Mexican restaurant in Nampa in 2024, and I can see why. Clean, orderly, all the correct smells, flavors and visuals. They had horchata and flan, which is a requirement, but no jamaica, but that isn't enough to lose a star. Quick on the hostess, who apparently was not just random wait staff keeping busy, since she seated us, handed menus and started drink service, quick on the wait staff who knew the menu, wait staff was solicitous and attentive but not obtrusive, willing to engage in conversation. Food came quick enough that i didn't even start to wonder why it was taking so long, that's a plus, that horchata mug was awesome, plates were hot as was the food. Menu was varied and appeared to have something for everyone. Food was fresh prepped and hadn't been sitting in the warmer forever, Spanish rice should be moist, not crispy. The wifes shrimp fajitas had a very fresh veggie vibe, not the typical southwest flavors teh tortillas were fresh, not awesome, but fresh. The flavors over all were very middle of the road, which is good, and makes me wonder now of they have a signature Dish and should I go back and try it. Prices were right where they should have been, and check pays was from the table with the hostess. I don't know about the rest of the chain, but this location is worth the trip. It isn't next level, but it's clean, and an elevated example of the genre. Good for a group or a date, but unless there is a slack time I'd make it a business casual for work. read more

My wife and I worked hard today and decided to use door dash. She got 3 taco I got 2 enchiladas and taco. I will say good quick delivery, and very tasty My few bad things. No utensils or even napkins were sent. If I was in a hotel I would be disappointed. For 2 meals for $30.00 I would think a few chips and a little salsa would be nice. This restaurant satisfies my Mexican food cravings, BUT- *they need fresh tortillas! The ones they use look and taste like Mission tortillas straight from the store. *The plastic margarita glasses look a little tacky . Glassware please! Other than those two things the food is pretty good. Sizes are generous, and the staff of very, very sweet and attentive. We have tried it 3 times at the Nampa location in the last year The Bloody Mary is horrible. I told the waitress and she brought me a margarita that was good but no discount. My favorite Mexican dish was no longer to be found when the long time favorite restaurant permanently closed. I called about 50 restaurants within driving distance and not one served something called "sopitos" what the are is 2 corn cakes about 3.5" round and hand formed . They are filled with a protein such as ground beef (my favorite) or chicken or shredded beef, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, shredded cheese (sometimes) and comes with a dollop of sour cream and guacamole to add on yourself. Well I had to move all the way to Idaho to find another restaurant that offered Sopitos and this one is it! They were as delicious as I remembered from my old favorite. The girl who was bussing tables and refilling chips & salsa was much more friendly and talkative than our server. At one point I needed our server and I got tired of waiting, so I got up to look for him. I ended up finding him in a different dining room that had been closed for the evening hanging out with his friends. Our food arrived within a reasonable amount of time and was nicely prepared and was hot. Although our server never checked in on us, the busser did. She refilled drinks and got us boxes. Sad face. Worst service I've had in a very long time. My husband ordered a Cadillac margarita, it's supposed to be a better quality of tequila but it was TERRIBLE. I ordered their house margarita and it was WAY better. We brought it to their attention and the guy, who was not pleasant to begin with, offered to make it with patrone. The "new" margarita tasted the same with the exception that it was noticeably stronger. He stood by our table, facing away, saying he would wait until we tried the new one. His attitude was so poor we just accepted the tequila and vowed to never return. After receiving our food the already poor service continued to get worse, he almost made it a point to be rude to us. We will never return, mexican restaurants like this are a dime a dozen and the vast majority of the food comes from a can. If you'd like quality food and drinks visit Jalapenos on the Nampa/Caldwell Blvd. Locally owned and we have always received exceptional service from all staff and even the owner herself. read more
