It was a good time time trying this taqueria on the west side. On the way back from SA, we stopped by this taqueria. We were seated promptly, and ordered drinks. I ordered an horchata, Liz went with a pepino limon agua fresca, and the kids ordered Jarritos. We ordered an appetizer and it was a huge tray of nachos doused in nacho cheese and topped with a generous helping of carne asada. It was a lot. When our waitress came back she took our order and check on our drinks. Tacos, tacos tacos. I ordered three tacos. A bistec tacos, a capesino (choice of two meats) with chicharron and suadero, a tripas taco, and a à bistec tacos. It was all good. I ended up helping my kid finish up their barbacoa taco too. I wanted to like this place a lot. Cheap tacos, decent decor, and friendly staff, but the tacos are mediocre at best. I had a staff meeting here and we order the loaded nachos and 4 different types of tacos from bistec, to barbacoa, to al pastor and they were all just... eh. Barely any flavor, not salted well, just food basically. The only redeeming factor were their Charro beans. BEST I've had in El Paso but not good enough to go back specifically for them. This restaurant looked promising on social media, but looks can be deceiving. The small street tacos are pretty cheap at $.95 or $1.25 each, depending on the meat. But they are swimming in grease. Be sure to ask for extra napkins. They were so-so. You can find better tacos elsewhere. The nachos con carne were much better. The chips were homemade, but a bit stale. The queso, salsa, carne were all delicious. Service was awful. We were sat promptly but then after that, it seemed we were forgotten about for some time. Then after some time, we were finally able to get our drink and food order in. Everyone there seemed uninterested in working, wandering around as if they were busy, yet doing nothing. It wasn't a busy night either, as there were maybe four table occupied with 3 waitresses working. A poor experience altogether. You're better off eating tacos. read more

This place is offers good food. I got to start with that before the three stars inside the orange squares make you think otherwise. The agua de mazapán is one that you can't miss and have to mix with your lunch. The size of that quesadilla is huge that it almost didn't make it to the image once I cropped it. Now let's get into why I gave it these not-so-flattering three stars. The service. Understaffed would be an understatement. Only three people for a restaurant that was full from wall to wall. Missing orders and long wait times to get your check is just something you can expect. I wouldn't discourage you from trying it yourself but I do give you the former warnings given here. DON'T WALK - run to this place. I've had tacos in Mexico City (and anywhere else tacos are served) and my goodness these are amazing. From the presentation to the flavors, it's just delectable. My bf and I wanted yo try them all so we ordered one of each. I appreciate that Aaron said "part of the experience is the temperature of the food, so I'm bringing you the first 5 then I'll bring the next 5 so they don't get cold". I appreciate this like you have no idea, food temperature plays a huge roll on flavor, texture, etc. So Thank You Aaron! I can't say there's a bad taco on the menu. They are all savory and well seasoned. I love to dress my tacos but some of these I didn't dare because the flavor of the meat alone was more than enough. My absolute favorite are; tripitas ( cooked 3/4), buche and barbacoa. Although the lengua and asada was close. They have patio seating, they have a good amount of tables and bar seats. The owners (or so they seemed) are boots on the ground and very involved and it shows. So you want cheap tacos NOT on a Tuesday? Oh you want authentic tacos: greasy, delicious? With traditional meats like bistek, suadero, buche, pastor, longeniza ($0.95 each) and sirloin, lengua, barbacoa, tripa, chicharron ($1.25 each)? But you want to eat in AC without flies and listen to fun toe-tapping Mexican music? How about TV screens? 10+ screens? Where is this awesome place you ask? Off Sunland Park where the old Toro burger was. This spot has the legit same tasting tacos I got in Tijuana, eating by a taquero but without the flies or heat. In fact, they had Mark Wiens videos visiting awesome taquerias so that you can remember that feeling and you taste it in the greasy tacos, the chicharron taco slightly crunchy, but minced so fine you barely have to chew. The suadero is so flavorful, one could get away with just the meat and tortillas but the salsa flight is awesome and cute! I had to ask for onions and cilantro but they accommodated. The pastor was a bit chewy but really good. At these prices, you can afford to try all the meats! I got 4 suadero, 1 chicharron, and one pastor, and it was almost the same price as my kiddo's quesadilla. I saw a bunch of people ordering charro beans so that's on my to try list next. The service was so nice, but they had only one waitress, the bar had 2 people working there and no one seated there so I think they need to support the girl since the place is spacious and there were a lot of tables. It's a great addition to the area and I can see it being popular for families, date nights, and casual outings. The food was amazing! We had chile con queso nachos, el pastor tacos (the ones with the pineapple) bushe tacos and a paloma and carinito! The service was mid, the gentleman serving us was a little bit on the straight to business side, in and out kind of service and kind doing it! The ambiance was the reason for the 4 stars. We took the patio because the inside didn't look inviting and the music was playing a little bit too loud. The patio had flies everywhere and bugs. I had carnitas tacos that are not on the menu, but they serve them. I figured i would ask since they have carnitas tortas. Wife had the baked potato with sirloin, which was good but over all not a lot of meat on either the tacos or the potato's. The tostadas with the rajas and cheese were good, just not alot of rajas.. . Borracho beans were ok but lacked salt. No biggie you can add some. The biggest grip was that the unattentive waitress was lackluster in pride, and attention to detail. Ok let's talk about this place. You can see the staff on their toes keeping up with the orders. We drive far west just to get these tacos. I personally always get the gabacha quesadillas. My partner enjoys the tacos he gets one of each!!! Their agua frecas are great & IT IS packed some days...Because they are just that good! My family and I would love to visit this place every Sunday after church because of their service and food! But lately the service and food has been poor. And today was the last time that we visited this place. We have an autistic child and they had always allowed us to take in his food, we usually are a party of eight. Today waiting for the table a rude waitress said that we couldn't bring food from outside. I explained to her that they've always allowed us to do it because of our autistic child and she just said look there is the sign, you are not allowed. She was so rude and insensitive that we just decided to leave the place. It was a very uncomfortable experience and she showed no sensitivity for our autistic child. We will never go back. read more

Only reason we came back after the first bad service experience was the food. A small supposedly 4 star place. Had a craving for tacos. Walked in and waited to be seated. After we were passed up by a short chunky manager without a word, it took 15 minutes to get greeted and asked to sit by the other manager/owner with glasses. We waited for 15 more minutes for a waitress and nearly walked out. The food was pretty dang good, mexican greasy. Kiddo had the quesadilla bistek and I had the arrachera. Salsas are awesome. Aguas Frescaa are really good. The same manager owner that ignored us surely saw his friends and gave them impeccable service. We will try again because of the manager/owner with glasses that really tried to help us. More of a bar with tacos atmosphere. Updated 1/15/2022. Upped to 3 stars. Tried again for lunch. The chunky manager/owner without glasses still sucks and is blind to you unless you are a friend. Then you get exceptional service. Service was fast and good today. Sat fast and order came fast. I've been here twice before, they have good tacos that are cheap. Keep in mind they are $1-$1.25 per taco. Also their charro beans are pretty good too. They have good sides, that are better than most other restaurants in town.
