Our first restaurant stop in Key West started here, located in the "gay section" of town, apparent with all the rainbow flags flying. We just wanted a drink and possible app at the lunch hour. ATMOSPHERE: The restaurants's quaint street front bar and patio drew us in. The open air spot had lots of ceiling fans to keep us cool in the muggy Key West weather. There's also an enclosed bar that hosts drag shows. A hotel of the same name sits towards the back of the property. BEVERAGE: Berry Berry Iced Tea - $10.00 This was more refreshing than anything. I got no buzz from this vodka-based drink that had no real flavor sans for being a plain iced tea with a few sliced strawberries sitting at the bottom. FOOD: Shrimp Cocktail - $15.00 I really don't like shrimp cocktail as they're so boring but my spouse loves them. Here, we received four huge, plump and crunchy shrimp, perfectly cooked. Non-spicy cocktail sauce and lemon accompanied. Very nice version. SERVICE: We found open stools at the bar and were greeted immediately. The gal bartender was friendly and professional. The food was pretty good, breakfast potatoes very oily, bacon flavorful but limp, crab cakes were mostly crab, the french toast was soft and sweet. The service started off good, the surroundings are lovely and intimate. However, when the staff was clearing the table one of them knocked over my water all over the bill and me. There were apologies and napkins brought and then everyone disappeared. The bill was so wet I couldn't sign it, we waited and waited while trying to make eye contact, I finally had to hail someone down. Again another apology but I have to say when your patrons leave with visible wet marks on their dress you ought to comp a drink or something. read more

Sadly, what started as a fine experience drastically took a turn when my husband questioned why he was being charged $6 for ice (rocks charge) on two single pour bourbon drinks that cost $60 total. The bartender stated "I don't make the rules, I just make the drinks" and "you can take it up with the owner". So to that we asked to speak to the owner. This man came over and immediately began patting my husband on the chest, invading his personal space and clearly trying to physically intimidate him, while telling him everyone charges for ice (this had been our 5th night in Key West eating at very nice restaurants and not one charged for ice (rocks, not the big ice block some places do charge for)). He then tossed our bill to the bartender and told him to remove it. When the couple we were next to asked if it was the same ice in the complimentary waters we had been drinking, he took things to a different level and said you must be "Trumpsters". How and why he made it political is beyond me. He then started going off on Trump supporters and what they are doing to the economy. It was very bizarre. The owner was condescending and completely inappropriate. I do not recommend supporting this restaurant. read more

We spend time enjoying the atmosphere the happy hour menu as well at the full dinner menu. The bar Team is spot on with James, Tracey, Samantha and Tristan ....providing us with the best bartenders in Key West. They are knowledgeable, professional and proficient. They are friendly and work well beside their loyal assistants. We have had Birthday parties, family and friend gatherings and dinners as well as experienced the shows. We love our time at La Ti Da's. First of all, I have been back to Key West several times the past few years and my "go to" place is LA TE DA....the service is incredible - I absolutely love the staff but I must say James is the best - friendly, handsome and just a GREAT person. I recommend this restaurant for the service, the environment is awesome and the food spectacular. By the way - the dance party on Sunday afternoon is so much fun....and I was by myself and danced with so many other visitors and locals. You won't be disappointed! 4.5 out of 5 We were recently in Key West as part of The SmartRide and had attempted to get a reservation for a party of 8 and Christopher's was kind enough to accommodate us. We arrived a little ahead of our reservation and was told they were running a little behind, shifting tables because of the rain. We made out way to the bars, got cocktails and were called to our table about 10 minutes after the appointed time. The place is large, bright and open and has a more formal, but still relaxed feel. We were barely in our seats when we were greeted by our server, followed by the service assistant who brought water followed by freshly baked bread. Our server shared the additions to the menu and began taking our orders. He was exceptionally well organized and polite give all of the chatter across the table. Our group had multiple and shared appetizers and everything came out promptly and in order. During our appetizer course, Chef Christoper was making his way through the room, stopped to chat and talk with us about The SmartRide. Moments later a HUGE platter of sauteed shrimp in a delicious buttery sauce with a hint of licorice made its way to the table, there was more than enough for the table to share and a very kind gesture. My husband and I each had the La Te Da Wedge, the Stilton Dressing was really well done and the salad was fresh crisp and well prepared. Others at the table had French Onion Soup, Stone Crab Claws and Beef Carpaccio with rave reviews from everyone. Entrees followed at a nice pace behind our appetizers; even with the restaurant filling up we never felt rushed and the staff kept drinks and bread filled and did an amazing job with clearing and resetting. Entrees were also across them menu with Filet, Snapper, and Crab Cakes. My husband tried the Meatloaf, really out of character for him and loved it. I had the Lacquered Duck and had a tender, moist, crispy half duck with a flavorful citrus glaze, roasted potatoes, and broccolini. Delicious and something I don't always order in the Keys. Our group had an excellent dining experience, wonderful food, and some of the best service we have had. PLEASE NOTE: The menu is REALLY clear that they don't do separate checks and despite the recent comments Chef Christoper was present in the room throughout the night and was always polite and professional. The food here is very expensive! If it weren't so expensive, maybe my expectations would have been lower. The price did not match the food. I ordered spaghetti and there was very little for $28. Others in my table ordered duck, and a market price seafood pasta for $58. The food was good, not great, good. There were a ton of flies after we received our food that kept bothering us and that was annoying but not their fault. Our waiter was interesting. He seemed to not be bothered by anything and didn't really sell us on any of the food. Bills cannot be split by couples but rather equally so beware of that! read more

Spent time giving free drinks to the UPS driver rather than regular patrons. One of our favorite places for years, but staff management needs to improve. As a traveler, we had a fantastic lunch during thier Sunday brunch at La Te Da. We both had blackened yellowtail snapper Rubens. Mine, pictured, has no bun. Before today's lunch, I would have given a 5 star rating. However, today dropped La Te Da to a 2 star and out of our restaurant rotation entirely. We all enjoyed our food- the Yellowfin Reubens, Wedge Salad, French Onion soup, Shrimp- were all wonderful. Our server was attentive and took care of us. Then came dessert... The Creme Brûlée was warm but had not been burnt. One of our party ordered a Kahlua with dessert and asked for a couple cubes of ice. When the bill arrived, we were charged $3 for the darn ice!! Our bill was almost $200. Are we seriously charging for ICE now??? Keep the $3. We will be going elsewhere. read more

Wow, I am actually sad to write this review. My family was in town visiting for the week. We were so excited to attend the La Te Da show and watch the amazing Christopher Peterson. We all agree he was a 10/10. This show was great and his performances were precise and comedically gold. We loved every part of his performance. The service here was very subpar. Probably the worst I've received and may deserve a 1/10. The server was rude the whole time and the manager was actually ruder. On Saturday, 2/17/24 a group of 8 women made a reservation for dinner at 6pm to celebrate my 30th birthday. We arrived 30 minutes early and had a cocktail at the outdoor bar. We were immediately put off by the bartender James who was very annoyed to be serving us. He would roll his eyes and make us feel as though asking for a drink each was too much of a bother for him. We brushed it off and had a truly AMAZING DINNER! Our waiter was phenomenal just as the food. We then went to see Randy Roberts perform drag at the same venue. Great show! We left the show and danced to the live music in the indoor bar area, ordered drinks and were happy as can be. Great service, great entertainment. We then traveled to the outdoor bar again since the band took a break. We met a few gentlemen who were sitting at the bar, and we sat behind them close to the street, the eight of us each ordered drinks again from the same bartender James. We are a group of eight women and we're chatting at a normal outdoor volume on a Saturday night. The band could be heard from the street so we were not at all noisy compared to that. The bartender James came up to our group and lectured us about being "right next to each other, no need to yell". Again it was my 30th birthday and we had been celebrating and talking but not screaming. We quieted down nonetheless. -We did not care for his attitude towards us for the second time after spending well over $2k at the establishment so we asked for to-go cups. Some of our friends were in the bathroom so we began to explain to them why we were leaving when James yelled at us "If you're going to be a BITCH and talk about me then I'll be an ASSHOLE!". He began taunting us as we were trying to gather our party and leave. The older woman with us who is a local asked James to be nice and not make a scene he continued to berate us even when we told him we were leaving. From the very beginning of our interaction with James before dinner to the end he was rude to us. We tipped well quieted down when asked but never called him any names. To call a customer a BITCH for explaining to the rest of their party that we are leaving because of his behavior is unacceptable. We had an amazing dinner, drag show and fun time dancing to the live band all to be ruined by James lack of customer service. Many of us have been in the service industry and understand it can be tough and patience can run thin but he crossed a line. We will not be back as long as he is employed there and therefore, sadly can't recommend. read more

My husband and I went for drinks and desert. It was classy but not snobby. A nice escape from the chaos on Duval. Our bartender was super nice very knowledgeable and served great drinks. We didn't get tickets to the show inside but could hear the music which was also very good. My husband and I came here for breakfast at our last day of Key West vacation. I ordered eggs la te da and my husband ordered eggs as well. We both asked for no bread, potatoes or bacon... instead just some fresh fruit. So we both got bacon... they took the plates away and fixed it. My order was supposed to be scrambled eggs with sour cream and chives... I only got scrambled eggs, no sour cream or chives, and didn't really have any taste.., it was so dry. The guy also asked us if we were vegetarians since we didn't want the bacon.. Staying at the hotel we enjoyed a several complimentary breakfasts and some drinks at the bar. Complimentary breakfast had some nice choices and includes coffee and choice of juice. I really prefer table service verses the cheap small buffets. Complete with white linen, this outdoor restaurant adds to the Key West vacation. Hospitality and service here is fantastic. Tonto our bartender asked each customer their name, then addresses you by name when she sees you. And she whips up some fabulous martinis. La Te Da motto is "you can't drink all if you don't start in the morning". So the bar opens at 8:30 with breakfast service. Darren our waiter was great with advice for area spots to try and suggested I use a nearby mail store instead of waiting in the long USPS line. Thanks!!
