So glad I finally made it here! La Valentina is a gem. I had the combination with a red enchilada and Chloe relleno, it was served with rice and beans. Excellent value for under $20. I ordered to go but the space is fun, clean and inviting. I loved the vibe, next time I will dine in. They were very busy, which is good, and they still made the time to take a phone order. Out with the old in with the new. This New Mexican restaurant is very good and tasty with a good home food taste to their dishes. The plates were very well sized enough to feed two people. My wife and I didn't finish our plates but they were well priced. Say what you want about the price but the flavor and portion was there to justify the 24 dollar carne asada and 17 dollar Chile rellenos. The decor and ambiance is very rustic to that of a pueblo vibe with hand painted chairs and paintings that take you back to your Mexico past times. The service was attentive and friendly and they were busy when we went in but they didn't miss a beat. I will love to come back and try more dishes. This definitely tasted like a more home cooked meal than your more main stream Tex mex food that we been getting around here. read more

Ugh. I've had this review in drafts for so long you'll have to bear with me while I try to take you back to earlier this summer.... I was looking for anything other than pizza for delivery after my BF's long day at work. I haven't heard much about people ordering Mexican for delivery, so I was surprised to see this one come up on the search results. Why not, I thought. I punched in an order for Carna a la Tampiquena and a bean and cheese burrito. The delivery person came really fast! She apologized for taking so long and I was like what? Haha. She was relieved. They try and keep things plastic free. The only plastic was the lids. The rice and beans, enchiladas, steak and burrito each came in their own aluminum container. It must have cost a small fortune to do this and I found it overkill. Everything in two containers for two orders works for me. I subtracted a star because the food was just okay. The steak was overcooked. BF enjoyed it anyway because it was steak and he said the enchiladas were good. I didn't care for my burrito. My bean and cheese standard is Red's frozen that you can find at your local New Seasons (or if you're lucky, Sprouts). It's just refried beans and cheese. It's thin and overpriced but the flavor is THERE. I tried my own hand at it and haven't been able to duplicate it. La Valentina is further off than me, though. Food and prices are just meh. My daughter ordered the carnitas with shrimp and their shrimp were huge! I got full just eating the shrimp with the flour tortillas.
