Hostess barely said hello . We requested upstairs since there is a pretty view and she puts us right across from the waiter storage room. We asked to be moved. Best thing is the tortilla chips. Downhill from there. Salsa with chips was very bland. We had tasteless short rib tacos. Zero seasoning. We had the combo fajitas. They are teriyaki in a sweet sauce. Very strange and all protein tasted more stewed than grilled and charred. The refried beans also had almost no flavor. Asked for a margarita that wasnt too sweet. Waiter recommended one- i asked if he could specify not too sweet to the bartender as well. It was still super sweet. Waiter asked me how it was- let him know and he offered no solution and walked away. Very disappointing experience. I would go only for the view, if you like super sweet margaritas, and maybe some nachos? read more

We stumbled upon this walking in the area and I'm so glad we did. The ambience was great, the staff was amazing, the food and drinks were so delicious. We were looking for a place to have a light dinner and saw this restaurant located right across from our hotel. After checking out the menu we shared steak quesadillas and a caesar salad. Before the meal we were served with chips and salsa. The chips were light and delicious. The steak quesadillas were also very good. Excellent service. We stayed for the view but both of our meals were really awful. The carne asada chile releño burrito was tasteless & dry. There was too little of the cheese inside too. The Carne asada tacos were dry, bland and also over cooked processed micro cubes of beef. The taste was not edible. I chose not to eat my tacos. The couple at the next table had the same carne asada tacos and they left over 2 of their 3 tacos as they got up to leave. Rarely do we leave anything on our plates but all 3 carne asada tacos of mine were not edible. I even asked for cilantro as it came with nothing on it. I was told that it was already cooked with onion and cilantro but I saw none of that. The cilantro that was brought was so dry and not fresh. We didn't stick around to try dessert. Came in hungry after a long hike. We got the caddy margarita which was pretty good. Then La Vecina Queso, we didn't expect the guac to be inside. I would have preferred that on the side, but we still enjoyed it. The quesabirria was also good but it was normal quesabirria nothing crazy. The server was nice and attentive. Nestled in the picturesque and small town of Sedona is a delicious Mexican restaurant! Everything was delicious and they serve large enough portions to even bring some home for later. The inside of the restaurant is curated with Southwest decoration and it feels like you're walking into a small mission church. They also have a nice outdoor patio! Appreciated it when the waitress said they can make any cocktail into a mocktail. I highly recommend the prickly pear margarita! read more

We were walking around Sedona and saw this place and decided to stop by for some lunch. Us and a few other customers were waiting in the front to be greeted and sat. It took longer than normal but nothing too crazy. The hostess then sat us and a busser brought over chips and salsa and gave us some water and we never saw anyone again. After about 30 min we decided to leave. We stopped by the host stand to let her know that nobody ever came and had to wait awhile until she got off her cell phone. Overall just an annoying experience and wished we could have tried the food. Service was so poor compared to everywhere else in town I have tried. read more

We were recently in Sedona, and my husband found this place online and really wanted to try it. Glad we did! Food was really good, service was great, and they take reservations which seems to be a must in Sedona. The hubs was raised in Phoenix, and this was reminiscent of the Sonoran Mexican food he was raised with. Started with a cheese crisp, he and I got steak burritos (good seasoning on the steak), DD got a cheese enchilada. All were really good. I had a spontaneous trip today with my fiancé and friends to Sedona. We came across La Vecina to give it a try and it was a disappointment. Food and service were bad. Our waiter would go to our table and not ask if we needed anything. He would just stop by there, take a look, and leave rushed. I ordered the Surf n Turf dinner special. Their "sirloin steak" was terrible. No flavor and bad quality of steak. Worst part about it was that it came out to be $36. Came with sides of rice and beans. The rice had no flavor. Horchata tasted like milk with a small pinch of rice. The only good thing were the French Fries that came with the Kids Cheeseburger. I doubt I would go again... What a shame to be called a Mexican Restaurant. read more

A friend and I made a spontaneous trip to Sedona from Mesa, and found ourselves looking for something to eat. We stopped in the store under La Vecjna, who said they just tried the Birria and highly recommended it! Up we went! We were given the option to sit out inside or out, and had to choose the view and fresh air while in Sedona. Pictured is the view from the tables up top, lots of mountainous sites and some purple watching if close enough to the wall. Chips and salsa were great, thin chips salted perfectly with a flavorful but not spicy salsa. We ordered an Elote to share, honestly not my fave, but that is a personal preference with a creamy corn texture.. food as plated in large portions, starting with a beef tamale with red sauce and cheese, a chili relleno, and a fish taco (up charge by request due to fish not on the combination platter). YUM! My favorite part was the fish taco, the pico, cabbage and sauce were perfect with the crispy flaky flavorful fish. Next was the chili rellano, flavorful and cheesy! I had cut it and ate it in a tortilla with beans and rice, flavors all joined together beautifly. Last was the tamale, it had a little bit of a spice to it, more even than the chili. The maza was soft and the beef was well flavored. I know there are a lot of restaurants to choose from in a short walking distance, but this is new to the selection, and worth the try! read more

The service was good, but the tables felt a tiny bit sticky I think due to the varnish they have coated the tables with. I had the short rib tacos which had a great flavor & even tried my mom's carne asada which was excellent as well. The cocktails were fabulous and our server was very accommodating to my request that the bartender make them with less agave. The ambiance is charming, but the restaurant might be difficult to access/get around in if you are older or mobility challenged. If you want desert here get the flourless chocolate cake. read more
