The food overall is pretty good, and portions are regular sized, not large. I enjoyed the loaded eggs with potatoes and the huevos rancheros. We didn't like the eggs with corned beef hash, which consisted of rather large ham chunks. The orange and plain scones were crumbly and yummy. Now that they offer online reservations, I'm more inclined to visit because otherwise you risk showing up and having to wait (or leaving) because it's a small space. Finally was able to come and try this adorable brunch spot in Waldwick. My biggest complaint would be how difficult finding parking is because it's all street parking without lines. So one person parks wrong and it messes up the whole row. There is the option to park in the cvs parking lot but it is frowned upon. You can dine inside our outside under their awning which is lovely in nice weather. We opted to sit inside. The tables on the side we sat were definitely tight and close together. The food was phenomenal. I order the brioche French toast with home fries and two eggs over easy. Happy because they use real maple syrup at this spot. My home fries I asked to be well done and crunchy but they came out a bit mushy but still edible. My friend ordered their weekly special of a pumpkin spice waffle and she said it was delicious. Their coffee was average. Nothing special. The only thing I couldn't figure out was my brioche French toast or the syrup tasted like amaretto which wasn't that big of an issue I would've just liked to know it was flavored. Great brunch spot! My friend and I went to La Vie En Rose in Waldwick for brunch over the weekend, and it was such a nice experience. The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe, kind of like a cute French café. I got the Florentine Egg Benedict with sautéed spinach, and it was perfect--everything was cooked just right. My friend had the Quiche Lorraine, and she loved it too. We also shared a walnut and apricot scone and a slice of coffee almond cake, and both were so good! The scone was buttery, the cake was full of flavor, and they went perfectly with our coffee and tea. The staff was super friendly and made us feel really comfortable. Love this bakery cafe! While space is limited as others have mentioned, this is a gem in Waldwick! In the summer they have outdoor seating that doubles it's capacity. This appears to be a family run business because I see the same faces every time I visit and they keep the place meticulously cleaned. I routinely order bakery items and appreciate that they take advanced orders of cookies, cakes, seasonal items, etc. all of which are good! On my first visit, I ordered special pear & cinnamon crepe (not pictured) with a generous portion of pear filling. One of the gems in the quaint town of Waldwick. I attend here about once a month on a weekend morning. While it is a little pricy, it is always quality. Their French onion soup is fantastic and will always get you the desired cheese pull. They have both inside and outdoor seating, and the waitstaff is always attentive. Cute bakery/cafe in the heart of waldwick. It's small but we were able to be seated quickly during the brunch rush. They have a nice menu, with specials on the weekends. I opted for the regular eggs Benedict and my mom got the Florentine version. The food came out timely and they did the eggs Benedict perfectly. What a find! So happy that I stumbled upon this place after looking for a good brunch spot. The food here is mouth watering and fresh. Everything comes out nice and hot and you can tell the cook takes their time creating these delicious masterpieces. I love the ambiance and how quiet it is unlike the new places that are popping out. I usually like to visit at least three times before writing a review but this was that good I couldn't help myself. I enjoyed the atmosphere as much as the food. A great vibe in this quaint bistro. Love that they had a great variety of music playing. Hubby enjoyed the loaded smashed eggs which had two eggs over smashed potatoes with cheddar cheese bacon sour cream and scallions. A great late night eat after a night out! I enjoyed the Croque Madame, a croissant loaded with Gruyere, Dijon bechamel with an egg over easy. Portions are large so come hungry! We waited for an hour for our table, and when I went to just announce that I was here, (since our phone conversation was not clear) knowing that my table was at 12 noon, his response was very rude. Then after waiting for an hour, and beyond 12, when my husband just wanted to check what the status was, he responded very rudely. A place can have good food, but if the service is bad, it's totally not worth it. And to think we supported them when they first opened and referred so many of our friends to go there. Adorable little spot for brunch or bakery items. Had brunch here for a bunch of our friends - did outdoor dining right under the heaters. I called a couple times beforehand to make the reservation and confirm the day before, and everyone who answered the phone was so friendly and kind. The table was prepared when we arrived, so we didn't have to wait at all. Server was friendly and everyone seemed to enjoy their brunch. I like how they had non dairy milk options for our coffee. Spinach and gruyere frittata was really fresh. After brunch, we went inside to purchase some bakery items. Inside is small so it felt crowded (it was prime time for lunch at that point). As a new NJ resident, I was super excited to check out the food scene in this area. My best friend was visiting and we were eager to try this place in particular. It looked like it was a bit busy, but it was understandable since it was Sunday at noon. We didn't wait too long to get a table but we sat at that table for 30 minutes waiting for a waitress.... 30 minutes. Never in my years of serving tables did I witness someone not even get greeted by their waitress. We would've been ok with the wait but we were ignored for 40 minutes, not even a cup of water or utensils were brought to us. We were outside and I'm assuming the waitress who had the tables next to us was our waitress. She came several times to refill their water, drop meals, their desserts, and drop their check. Every single time she made eye contact and then ignored us. At this this point we had had enough and were getting ready to leave. I decided to make one last stop at the door before taking off. We observed as the manager helped the people in front of us and then turned to us afterwards. It was clear that we were unhappy but we decided not to make a spectacle. I asked him how we were supposed to order since no one had come to greet or take our order. He replied by asking if no one had come over when it was obvious that he knew the answer already. We then asked him to be honest if they had time to take our order since we had ready spent close to 45 minutes waiting. He instructed the waitress to take our drink order and left to check with the kitchen. When he returned, he informed us that it wasn't possible for them to get our order ready in time for us to leave for our next commitment. We were disappointed and made a point to never even think about wasting our time here again. I don't recommend that anyone set foot at this restaurant unless you don't care about your time being wasted and the inconsiderate staff. read more

The best brunch I've had in a while ! I've passed La Vie weekly when dropping my daughter off at pre-school. I've been intrigued by the inviting and pleasant exterior with people always there, even during the week. We decided to go for their weekend brunch with my parents. I called and made a reservation for 6 because the space is very small especially if the weather doesn't permit the use of the outdoor tables. Trying to get somewhere on time with 2 little ones doesn't always work in your favor. However, although we were running late, when I called to give them the heads up , they were nice enough to save the table for us even though I know Space is so limited . The brunch menu is extensive and every single item sounded great . Everyone was beyond impressed with the food with some of the stars being: good bloody Mary's ( virgin , it's byob ) , huevos rancheros , crab cake eggs Benedict , and amazing blueberry-lemon cake . Everyone talked about going back on the ride home. I feel nothing less then 5 stars from start to finish. read more
