    Eggs and corn beef hash

The food was great! Everything on the menu looked so good, I hard a very hard time picking my dish. I literally wanted to try everything! I ended up getting eggs and smashed potatoes and my friend got eggs with corn beef hash. We also got brownies and there were divine and very generous in size.

Great brunch spot! My friend and I went to La Vie En Rose in Waldwick for brunch over the weekend, and it was such a nice experience. The place has a cozy, welcoming vibe, kind of like a cute French café. I got the Florentine Egg Benedict with sautéed spinach, and it was perfect--everything was cooked just right. My friend had the Quiche Lorraine, and she loved it too. We also shared a walnut and apricot scone and a slice of coffee almond cake, and both were so good! The scone was buttery, the cake was full of flavor, and they went perfectly with our coffee and tea. The staff was super friendly and made us feel really comfortable. They were attentive without being over the top, which we appreciated. Highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a relaxing brunch with delicious food and great service. We'll definitely be back!

Love this bakery cafe! While space is limited as others have mentioned, this is a gem in Waldwick! In the summer they have outdoor seating that doubles it's capacity. This appears to be a family run business because I see the same faces every time I visit and they keep the place meticulously cleaned. I routinely order bakery items and appreciate that they take advanced orders of cookies, cakes, seasonal items, etc. all of which are good! On my first visit, I ordered special pear & cinnamon crepe (not pictured) with a generous portion of pear filling. I also ordered the southwest eggs Benedict that is served over corn bread rather than a biscuit. The altered hollandaise sauce has a slight kick and bits of bacon.

Cute bakery/cafe in the heart of waldwick. It's small but we were able to be seated quickly during the brunch rush. They have a nice menu, with specials on the weekends. I opted for the regular eggs Benedict and my mom got the Florentine version. The food came out timely and they did the eggs Benedict perfectly. My only complaint was the salad, which was bland and lacked flavor (normally I love a salad with eggs Benedict!). We didn't get any bakery items but I would come back to try them.

Great food at reasonable prices. Florentine eggs benedict ($15) was perfect! Everyone was happy with their food.

What a find! So happy that I stumbled upon this place after looking for a good brunch spot. The food here is mouth watering and fresh. Everything comes out nice and hot and you can tell the cook takes their time creating these delicious masterpieces. I love the ambiance and how quiet it is unlike the new places that are popping out. We ordered the loaded potatoes and eggs and the breakfast burrito. We also added a side of has-browns and sausages with 2 vanilla lattes. Definitely a place to add on your list if you are in Bergen county.

I usually like to visit at least three times before writing a review but this was that good I couldn't help myself. I enjoyed the atmosphere as much as the food. A great vibe in this quaint bistro. Love that they had a great variety of music playing. Hubby enjoyed the loaded smashed eggs which had two eggs over smashed potatoes with cheddar cheese bacon sour cream and scallions. A great late night eat after a night out! I enjoyed the Croque Madame, a croissant loaded with Gruyere, Dijon bechamel with an egg over easy. Portions are large so come hungry! Beautiful outdoor seating too.

The food was fresh (how did they find a flawless avocado in the middle of winter???) and the flavors delicious. The service was outstanding -- weekend brunch was packed, and they put your name on a list in case you want to walk around town while you're waiting. Don't go too far, because somehow they're able to move the tables without making folks feel rushed. Each person we encountered -- the host, the folks at the counter, our server -- was nicer than the last. I got a bowl that had slightly cooked spinach, poached eggs, sweet potatoes and that GOHgeous avocado I mentioned above. One thing I really liked about this bowl is that it didn't have rice in it -- something that would've made it too overwhelming. This was the perfect combo and portion size. Someone else in our small group got the avocado toast (more avocado!!) and also said it was excellent. Definitely plan to return!

The interior of the restaurant was so nice, modern and well lit. There were outdoor seating area available as well. Other than street parking, they also had free parking spots at the rear side of the restaurant. We ordered the egg benedict, steak and egg, and pancake stack. They were served within a short time. Overall all the dishes were good. Steak was cooked well. But the pieces were thick. I wish it had more flavor. The chimichurri sauce on the steak saved the dish. Pancakes were fluffy and little sweet, my daughter liked it. The service was decent as well. Both the owners (father & son) were present at the restaurant, helping out rest of the staff. One of them stopped by our table to check on our dining experience. Overall we had a wonderful brunch time here.

THE GOOD ----------------…read more+ PHENOMENAL FOOD!!!!! ++++ Miso Marinated Salmon - Was absolutely delicious. Salmon was cooked perfectly, wasn't dry and still moist. The citrus scented wild rice was excellent too. ++++ Truffle Burger - Honestly, one of the BEST burgers I've had in a longggggg, longgggg time. Everything was perfect about it - the caramelized onions, gruyere on top, bacon, truffle aioli, and, of course, the burger itself. The patty was dripppping with juices with every single bite and cooked to medium excellence. Oh, and those truffle fries that came with it? To die for! Loved the thinness of them and there was PLENTY of it to go around. ++++ Kids Macaroni & Cheese with Fruit - Relatively simple, but the creamy kind of mac and cheese. Kids absolutely loved it. The fruits were just grapes and a few little slices of pineapple, which we would have liked a bit more of. ++++ Kids Cheeseburger and Fries - Burger was DEFINITELY, without a doubt cooked well-done. It was a bit on the tiny side, but we still split it between the kids. Once again, fries were fantastic and there was more than enough to share. ++++ Banana-Rama Smoothie - Strawberry, banana goodness. Could definitely tell this was not artificial from the "true" flavor of the smoothie. It wasn't super sweet. + Service was very good throughout the evening. ++++ Food came out shockingly fast and fresh. ++++ Our waiter was friendly, on point and came by to check on us a few times. + Plenty of space inside of the restaurant, including an outdoor-indoor tent that is heated. + Decor was modern and contemporary, very clean inside. + Ambiance for dinner was dark and intimate, which caught me off guard because I thought it would be more casual, but perfect for group gatherings still and casual dine-ins. + PLENTY of parking in the large lot in front and to the side of the restaurant, which is shared within a little strip mall. + They take reservations online. THE NOT SO GOOD ---------------------------- - Nada! MIXED THOUGHTS --------------------------- = Nada! RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Dined from 5:45 - 7:15 PM on a Friday and most of the evening crowd was older and there weren't many families with kids. There were maybe 2-3 families with kids, but they left by 6:15 PM. Most of the groups were groups of 4, seemingly catching up during a nice meal. CONCLUSION -------------------- = I was pleasantly surprised by the experience we had here. I figured this would be a super casual Friday after work/school dinner with the fam, but this turned out to be one of the best meals we've had in North Jersey in a while. Food, service and ambiance here was excellent. Wish they had .5 stars on Yelp because Saddle River Cafe is as close to perfection as it can get at 4.5 stars!

The highlight was definitely the Stuffed French Toast. It looked beautiful, and I expected it to be overly sweet, but it was surprisingly well balanced. The toast was soft with a slightly crispy exterior, and the cream cheese filling paired really well with the strawberry compote. We also ordered the BLT+. The smoked bacon was delicious, but the focaccia was a little too thin and hard, making it harder to eat than I expected. The house-made sausage was good, just not particularly memorable. As for the coffee, it was probably the most disappointing part of the meal. The latte wasn't very smooth, and the cold brew had a slight off taste. They were both drinkable, just not something I'd order again. Overall, I'd recommend this place for the food and the atmosphere, especially if you're interested in the French toast.
