I would do no stars if possible. It's a shame. I truly like this restaurant, but all it takes is once. Ordered dinner for delivery. Not all of the meal shows up. After calling they actually asked if I wanted them to send someone back out. Well yes I would like my completed meal. The rest of the family eats. My lukewarm rock hard baked potatoes how's up 30 mins later. I call agin. I have to explain my problem to 4 people before joe getting on the phone and aground thenpotatoe went out immediately and there was only one stop before me. A stop before me?? I'm still waiting for my complete meal. I request a refund for my portion of the meal. But JOE says no. I argue .. they send delivery guy back for a third time and I return my meal. Review for thin crust Pizza. After a recent write up for best thin crust pizza in Chicago, I thought we might try this one again. As always the atmosphere at La Villa is to be enjoyed and the staff to be loved. But as someone from the East Coast, thin Chicago pizza no matter how tasty the sauce, the toppings and the cheese lacks a complimentary crust. It was indeed thin, but the dead corn meal crust is just lost on me. I like to see crust that has life when it goes into the oven. A good lively yeasty pizza crust blooms like a rose in a hot oven. The results are bubbles and moon like surfaces that provides surprises of taste and texture. Was it bad, no, but was it a worthy thin crust pie for me no. No worries, I love everything else at La Villa and will even share in an occasional La Villa Chicago style pie where the fat laden, cornmeal base seems better suited. read more

Ordered from here last night and it was a BIG surprise. My boyfriend ordered a deep dish pizza, and I ordered a gluten free baby pizza with sausage. To start, these pizzas were VERY cheesy, which I appreciated. I rarely eat pizza due to the whole gluten free situation, but this was not a letdown at all. Additionally, they were very generous pizzas for the price. One slight downside on the deep dish was that the crust was very thick and doughy. The gluten free crust, however, was crisp and tasty, not flavorless and rubbery as some gluten free crusts can be. What a great find! read more

Authentic home style Italian cooking! This reminds me of a place my grandparents would take me... Cheesy Italian decor, large meals and staff that's part of the family restaurant. Cliche aside, the food delivered! They start you off with complimentary fresh bread and a roasted garlic balsamic dipping sauce, which was just the right mix of garlic, tang and salt. I ordered baked gnocchi with marinara ricotta and mozzarella cheese. It was excellent, the sauce was clearly homemade, which is key! My coworkers ordered soup and salad, all looked delicious. Came here on Tuesday with a friend, we both got baby pizzas. The pizza was good, but for me it kind of had a smell that threw me off. They give complimentary bread so that was nice. Service dragged, we were there for like an hr and 40 minutes and very little of the time was spent eating. I found that the pizza sizes themselves were reasonably prices but the toppings were too expensive it was 2. Something dollars for every additional topping, granted they do put a lot of toppings on there. I think I would come back, if anything to try their pasta menu. read more

I have been ordering from lavilla for years and will continue to do so. However we ordered their thanksgiving catering which I am sorry to say was disappointing. First the turkey was thinly sliced which I could have gone to jewel or Tony's and bought sliced turkey and throw it in some gravy. The meat on some slices were hard or slightly burned. This was not turkey breast meat . It looked more like processed meat. The mashed potatoes were somewhat dried. Green beans were soggy. Solid 4! This place is really hopping! We had the absolute pleasure of coming here for the first time tonight! We had the Shrimp De Jonghe for the appetizer, which was very good! Since it was our first time here, the owner, Kristine came out and greeted us, given us complimentary Bruschetta! What a treat! I selected the Lasagna, which came with soup or salad, I opted for the soup (clam chowder). My husband opted for the baked mostaccioli with the minestrone soup. Both entrees were very good. I however, did not care for the clam chowder. It had a weak consistency, tasting more like cream of chicken soup, no big deal. The minestrone was very good and filling! Our server, Martha, was excellent! Very helpful, offering suggestions of what to order! We were very impressed with our experience here at La Villa, and as an added bonus, we are not far from here! I've been going here for years and I have to say... they have some good pizza. I always get extra cheese and lately they've been stingy with the extra cheese. Before they used to hook it up and now I they barely put any cheese. I still give them a 4 because from the phone call to the delivery guy they're awesome. Also bring back the free liter of pop that came with the pizza. Making cutbacks like that make me rethink you guys tho. When I ask and pay for extra cheese I want my extra cheese. now the free liter of pop is gone.. these things put you over the edge and it's why I go with you guys. The food almost 2 hours and when I called I was told multiple times that the driver was 5 to 10'mins away. The manager was not helpful and incredibly rude. By the time I got the food it was cold. Really craving some baked clams recently, so I perused grub hub and found this place will deliver to mine. Ordered my clams, as well as an chicken parm sub. Being a New Yorker, I am a fan of the quick sub when you don't have time for the sit down chicken parm w/spaghetti, and as I recently moved and was working on unpacking I thought this would hit the spot. A simple oversight, which may not have happened had I dined in - the chicken was not folded, so as to fit inside the sub roll, making it way too difficult and messy to eat as a sandwich. Also, my clams seemed hard and chewy...again, not sure if I would have experienced this had I dined in, so I will check out the restaurant one day and update my review....however, I probably won't order delivery again. read more

This place is run like a well oiled machine. You can tell they've been around since the beginning of time. From the moment you walk in, you are immediately greeted with a smile. The interior is classic Italian and you can see a lot of history in this place. There are 2 areas.. the bar area has live music going on (not good if you want to have a conversation, but otherwise, he seemed to have the crowd interested), and the dining area which was totally separate and housed a lot of large families. Sept is Italian Fest time and they have a 7 course menu for $21, or a pasta course menu for $18 or combo dishes for $23. Interesting is they include a glass of wine with the meal and we all started with the Chianti. I personally had the pasta menu. If you didn't take any of the above, you can go by the regular menu where they offered a very tempting "house made" Fettuccini dish. Based on that, I was hoping that the pasta menu had something similar that was house made, but no such luck, so I opted for the Lasagna with a side of meatballs. So we are now on to multi course meal that is reminiscent of Sabatino's year round menu. Started with Focaccia bread, and oddly enough, it was dry.. I don't think I've ever had bad Focaccia bread.... until now. The regular Italian bread was good. The soup was next course and both the Minestrone and Egg Spinach were both lukewarm to cold... our server Lindsay promptly warmed them up and Minestrone was vastly improved but the Egg Spinach just lacked flavor. The Salad bar was next and it was fine. Onto the main course.. the lasagna was over cheesed and bland, with flavorless sauce. The meatballs were even worse.. dry as heck. In fairness, the others who had chicken dishes (and fish) did like what they had so I must have ordered the wrong thing, but that being said, the two things I value most are meatballs and marinara sauce and both were failures. Dessert course was coffee, fruit and cookies (like the old Maurice Lenell's for those who remember those). ... Service is what boosted this from 2 to 3 stars as Lindsay was awesome. Honestly, for this quantity and classic menu style, I would just opt to go back to Sabatino's as they never disappoint and their pasta and meatballs are way better. read more

La Villa has been a staple for our family for over 30 years. A family run Italian restaurant with great consistency in Italian comfort food quality. From the tomato bread, which is complimentary when you sit down to the desserts and great latte's, you are in for a treat. The food is always fresh tasting, served hot and definitely in the top ten of no frills Italian restaurants in the city. On our last visit however, it was a quiet night with a very different service experience! The hostess was cold and indifferent and actually verged on rude. She walked to the table and dropped the menus on the table, then walked away. Before we reached the table. The table was way in a back corner beside a door to an empty banquet room with an AC fan blowing right above us. I should mention that we were bringing out of town guests with us. The server came to our table, the first time, after we had been seated for 12 minutes, only to state, "I'll be right with you". She returned 8 minutes later for our drinks order. No menu recommendations, no specials mentioned. We placed our orders and another 14 minutes later we received bread sticks, the famous tomato bread and some white Italian bread. We had to ask for oil and parmesan! The food arrived promptly and was delicious. We had to ask for spoons for the pasta, black pepper for some of the entrees. When we were finished with our meals we waited about 10 minutes before we found someone to ask to get our doggie bag containers. The rate I have given is solely for the quality of the food. For the service I would give a single star as it was just poor. I hasten to add that this is not our usual experience at La Villa. Service has always been friendly and efficient. Clearly an off night or perhaps we were not welcome. We will always go back, however, another 'off night' and we will only get Carry out!!! Sad but true. It is worth mentioning that we have had many functions in the banquet rooms and many more home gatherings catered by La Villa. First time I ate at La Villa was in 1983 I was 12 years old and I started delivering flyers for them it is now 2019 and I am still ordering from these guys. I know the whole family great people great food the best. But the last 2 orders I was very disappointed, my ribs were cold and so full of fat it was hard to eat and my wife's cheese burger was horrible, hard bread and a rotten tomato, what's going on guys. First time trying this place after a few neighbors recommended it. The pizza was legit amazing. We ordered an XL thin crust with sausage and it's probably my new favorite pizza place. If we just ordered pizza then this would be a 5 star review. However, we also ordered cheesecake and German chocolate cake and those were horrible. Very small for the price. Cheesecake had a weird texture and strange aftertaste and the German chocolate cake was very dry. But like I previously stated...the pizza is AMAZING. read more

I hate writing a review like this with over 40+ patronage to La Villa. It's the principal of it though. Excellent food. Love their pizza. Still will. We have been ordering from them for so long, at the top of every receipt we have gotten from them for the past 7 years there has been a message we have been owed a side salad for a prior order error. Today, we ordered a large order as usual and I asked that we add the "Free" salad we were due to this order. The person that took my order was so friendly and SAW this notation on my account. She said she had to check with her manager for a $3 to $4 salad that was clearly documented on my account. She got back on the line and stated her "manager" would not allow us to redeem our free salad that has been on our receipt for quite some time. The reason being I now had a different phone number. Even though, it was still printed on my most recent receipt from 2 months ago! (Had my current number for a few years) Really, the manager said "No" to a small side salad we were owed? Who cares about a few dollars, I was just so disappointed that a manger could deny a small salad we were owed, compared to 40 years of ordering from them, probably thousands of dollars (well spent) and ensuring we supported them during the pandemic. Not sure who the manager on duty was on Fathers Day 2021, but shame on you for your poor decision making. By the way, the person on the phone was so apologetic. I will miss La Villa. read more

It's a real neighborhood place and the owner and manager go out of their way to make sure you enjoy yourself. They are the best. There is also a restaurant - but I have yet to try that. This Italian Restaurant is my favorite to go to. They have a large menu and so far, everything has tasted amazing. They have their own parking lot for both restaurant and banquet hall. My girlfriend has tried so many chicken vesuvio from a variety of Italian restaurants and till now, la villa has the best. I have tried their chicken a la villa, and their steak a la villa and they are so good. I actually order la villa from grub hub a lot. Their prices are very reasonable. Especially because if you eat inside, every entree gives you access to the salad buffet. You also get soup if you'd like and your side. The complimentary pizza bread is really delicious as well. Their wine list is massive. I have yet to find any flaw in the restaurant. (Not that I am looking for one). Also, I have never had to wait to be seated. I highly recommend this restaurant read more

We just had the greatest experience at La Villa! Our son, who is almost two years old, is becoming really difficult to bring out to eat. My sweet, calm little boy is quickly turning into a wild child! We went to La Villa for dinner tonight and every single person who worked there was SO nice to us, unruly toddler and all. They gave us a balloon, crayons, and a bowl of chicken noodle soup for our little guy. They also let us "explore" the banquet room (it was empty) and walk around the restaurant (any parent knows about the roaming that happens). And the food was delicious! Not many places give you soup and salad with your meal anymore. Next time I'm brave enough to bring the little one out again, we'll be back... Or maybe we'll do a date night instead! read more

They do bring an RC cola with it but not a cola drinker and not really given a choice. They could scrap that and i would be fine. Food is pretty good. But they need to read the instructions. I asked for two cups of sour cream for each order of potato skins. We had 2 orders. We only got 1 small cup of sour cream for each order of 4 big potato skins. Not enough and may have to stop ordering the potato skins because of that. Do not recommend the wings either. They didnt cut them correctly and gave us drumsticks still attached to the "thigh/wing". Hard to eat. read more
