Keto Casserole, large portions and great taste!

I'm a college student who is on a keto diet and it can be very hard to find food that can match the standard of keto. The keto options I have are few, but this restaurant will be on my list for the best keto restaurant in Lynchburg. Along with the keto option, the community atmosphere is a big part of my review too. The manager walks around and talks to his customers, the waitress are supper kind and considerate, and the restaurant openly supports Christ, family, the military, and the police. I have no idea why this place does not have higher reviews!!

Wow wee! This Italian restaurant is a do NOT miss spot! Yummy food; good service; great prices! They will customize anything for you! They even have a Keto menu for those that are low carb!! Don't miss this restaurant when in Lynchburg!

I came for lunch on a weekday, around 1 pm, and had no trouble getting seating at this time. Unfortunately, things started out on a bad note: when the water arrived, there was a big bit of something sticking to the inside of my cup. Our server took care of the issue kindly and politely. I also smelled something resembling nicotine for most of our meal. Thankfully La Villa isn't the one restaurant in America that still has a smoking section, but having these things happen made it seem dirty in general. The food was pretty good, though. You get garlic bread with your meal; it's buttery and well-seasoned without filling you up too much, just the way bread should be. The chicken and vegetables (with gluten-free penne and "spicy" tomato sauce added on) was decent. The meat and veggies were good on their own, but the pasta and sauce added a lot to the dish! But, as you might have guessed from the quotation marks, the sauce wasn't spicy. I forgot I had ordered spicy sauce until I was driving home--not once did the dish give me a kick. Best to ask for red peppers to put on yourself. Dirty cups and odd smells aside, there are enough solid options in Lynchburg that La Villa doesn't grab as much attention. It's fine if you're craving Italian at a good price.

As Claire handed us menus, she asked if we'd seen the specials. I forgot the first because she was so enthusiastic about the second, I said, "I'll have that" before she finished her descriptor! Essentially spaghetti (handmade from flavorful butternut squash) with chunks of quality chicken and maple bacon in a homemade creamy pesto sauce topped with fresh basil and cheeses. It did not disappoint! Mike is testing one new dish each week as he decides what will go on the new menu. He is personally preparing these dishes throughout the day to ensure he has enough fresh supply without having too much. I've always loved this place, and my friends always seem to suggest it, among our choices for any given occasion out. Whether its a nicer event we celebrate after a proper dress up later in the evening or for grabbing a beer and a meatball sub after a hot afternoon working in the yard (and the obligatory quick shower and change of clothes, of course!) But this latest visit had me jumping out of my booth to leave this review! P.S. The owners are first-generation Americans who's children (JF graduates) are celebrated on the wall as you enter. Mike's mom comes for a visit annually.

Bruh... They had Fox News playing on the television set. Everyone seemed to know each other, which was cool I guess. The food was alright.

While I'm…read moredisappointed immensely in the lack of Italian restaurants in the area, I was very pleased with my order from Vinny's. I had the eggplant parm dinner (which is how I personally gage every Italian restaurant I eat at), with a side salad with homemade ranch dressing. I love that it's not Ken's from a giant jar. Nothing beats house made. The eggplant parm was delicious, and the sauce had a nice flavor. I'm from a massive Italian town up north where you can throw a stone in any direction and hit an Italian restaurant or pizza joint, so I'm very particular. I also have a culinary degree, which makes me even pickier. I will absolutely be returning, and can't wait to try other items from the menu.

Unfortunately, the chicken Marsala was disappointing. The sauce was very thin and watery, with a large amount of liquid collecting in the bottom of the container instead of coating the pasta and chicken. The mushrooms had a texture and flavor that reminded me of canned mushrooms. While the dish lacked the consistency I typically expect from chicken Marsala, the sauce was still very rich in flavor and savory. Based on this experience, I'd recommend the pizza, but I would skip the Marsala. They gave an accurate estimate of wait time, prices were reasonable, and from what I saw the restaurant was clean. I would also like to acknowledge it was later in the night and they were going to be closing in the next hour, which might have caused a bit of a rush on the food, I'm not really sure.

I had a pizza before and wasn't the most impressed, but I was willing to give them another try. Craving a salad tonight I decided to order and I'm so glad I did! The large chef salad is huge and packed! Tons of meat and cheese, literally a whole hard-boiled egg, four slices of tomato, multiple slices of cucumbers, etc. There were also 2 large cups of ranch and the ranch was just as amazing! This quite possibly the best chef salad I've had in over 20 years. It really took me back! It's so big I can easily get 2 meals from it. I added a pic under the photos so be sure to check it out. The price was even quite affordable. The only thing I could possibly think would make this better was if they cooked their own bacon, but the bacon bits on the salad were all real and great quality. None of the cheap stuff or artificial bacon bits. I also ordered the cheese bread to have a little something extra with the salad. I was thinking it was going to be cheesy bread sticks maybe, or one of those oval shaped breads covered in cheese. This is actually much bigger and about the size of medium pizza. There is plenty of cheese on it and the olive oil and garlic really put this cheese bread on another level. The crust tastes like pizza crust and the flavor is incredible. I had a large cup of marinara and it is also really good. Everything was exceptional, including the temperature, time, and service. And it may sound odd but the utensils included were also great quality, very durable. I could easily cut up the veggies and meats without concern the utensils would snap. I will most certainly be regularly visting Vitales and ordering this same meal. It's so good I don't know how I could go and not get the same thing. I'm telling everyone I know. Run, don't walk and you can thank me later!

Just finding this gem after five years in Lynchburg…read more As others have pointed out, this restaurant is tucked away in the corner of an even more out-of-the-way quiet shopping strip, so you can easily drive by and never see it. True Sicilian owned and run trattoria where there is a wide ranging menu of American and Italian specialties. We stuck with the Italian and some apps for the little ones. Apps come out quick and are decently sized which is great when you have two kids. The mac & cheese was homemade and not the boxed stuff - and my youngest tore into it and was literally wearing it all over his face - he loved it. We also had bruschetta, which was house made and excellent except it was served on sicilian pizza dough - would loved to have had real italian bread for that. Italian meals were shrimp parm and my wife had the seafood special (sort of a marechiara) and both were excellent. Sauce is good, maybe a tad too sweet for me, but good nonetheless. We had a lot of food and even with that we finished with spumoni ice cream - which I haven't had in years. Serving was huge and we all shared it. Service was adequate - the waiter had no clue what things are in Italian and needs to work on that, but otherwise all good. We walked out fat and happy. Definitely going back. Large parking lot in front.

We were rushed though our meal. Our waitress came up to us with boxes 15 minutes after bringing us our food and asked how many we needed - mind you, we were still actively eating. She took the cheese off the table to put away while we were mid meal. Important note: this was an hour and a half before they closed. We weren't lingering. Unfortunately, won't be recommending this place any more, especially because of the smoking in the kitchen. when we checked out, we mentioned that it wasn't as pleasant of an experience as normal, and were completely ignored as they just continued checking us out.
