I really have to give props to the owner and staff for how nice they are and great service they provide! I'm original!y from NJ and very picky about my pizza, so it wasn't good in my opinion. The amount of cheese and how doughy the crust was made it inedible. My daughter is obsessed with pizza and could not eat it. My husband said it was Italian style but that much cheese? I have been to this restaurant several times before tonight and I never recall it being quite this bad. Staff was very friendly and owner greeted us with a handshake. We ordered Bruschetta for an appetizer and received what appeared to be diced tomatoes on top of a toasted hoagie roll with a slice of melted mozzarella cheese. The chicken parmigiana had absolutely zero flavor or seasoning and the marinara tasted like canned sauce. My wife mentioned that her sandwich was completely unseasoned as well. I don't want to be rude because the staff were extremely friendly and nice; however, we will likely not return because of the quality of the food. Tonight I ordered the shrimp marinara and it was great but that's not all I was satisfied with; dealing with COVID-19 some families are finding it hard to afford the essentials for their family well this restaurant is taking donations/providing of food and non-perishable items and delivering them to families in need but that's not all this past Easter they put together Easter baskets and donated them to families in need. It's been some time since we've found a restaurant that offered veal. I had the veal parmesan and hubby had the veal marsala. Both dinners were very good. If I had one complaint, it would be that I don't care for my spaghetti and sauce pre-mixed. The cheese dispenser dispensed parmesan one flake at a time, lol. Based on the recommendations here we tried La Villa this weekend on our visit to Lynchburg. It was just great for casual Italian dining. Unlike most places in town, the pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauces fresh tasting, and the bread hot and freshly made. It is not a fancy romantic type restaurant but a great place to come as you are any day of the week for good food and very friendly people including the owner who did come by as advertised. Let's call it what it is. Cheap, cheesy, quick, Italian food. While the product you get isn't going to bring you back to Sicily, it will provide that quick fix of dough, sauce, and cheese. Service is usually warm and friendly, drinks are WICKED cheap, and you will absolutely regret eating it later. However, sometimes we all need to give in to the craving. I come here when I need to do it. I give it 3 stars because I have had some pretty slimy food here. You have to know what to order. I stick to the carbonara or the chicken Alfredo (pretty hard to mess those up). If you are feeling adventurous, don't order something you're no familiar with here. I went to La Villa today and it was really good. I ordered the Chicken Neapolitan with the white wine sauce. The pasta was cooked al dente (yum!). My wife ordered a Veggie boli and she enjoyed her meal as well. The meal came with bread and marinara dipping sauce and it seems that the dough they use for the bread is the same dough as for their pizza... so, it was like little dipping sticks. It was great. I can't say enough about LA Villa de Tota! It is the best Italian restaurant in the area. They serve authentic Italian Cuisine. The menu is extensive and there is something for everyone. They have a lunch menu which is smaller but if you feel like eating more you can always order from the dinner menu. They have great salads and subs at reasonable prices. When I get a salad I usually choose the chefs salad. It has ham, provolone, salami with lettuce, olives, tomatoes, onions, & cucumbers. It's like a large antipasto! Along with the excellent bread sticks, you won't leave hungry. Probably my favorite meal is the Katie Special. Penne topped with chicken and mozzarella in a rosy cream sauce. The sauce is out of this world! Some other meals I enjoy are the Tortellini and chicken with the rosy sauce and spinach, Chicken Cacciatore, Chicken Napolitano, linguini and clams, and the Zuppe de Pesci with calamari, mussels, shrimp, and clams in a marinara sauce. I never leave LA Villa hungry and most times I have to take my cannoli home with me. If you don't see it on the menu, ask for it and they'll make it for you. Michael, the owner, is wonderful and goes around to all the tables to welcome you and chat. He's a great guy along with his wife, Rebecca, & they do an excellent job. The employees could not be more accommodating and are all pleasant. They also have gluten free pasta and pizza for those who desire it. All in all this is probably the best restaurant in Lynchburg! Two people from my group ordered their Special and the portions were noticeable uneven; one serving could pass for a starter. I had not been to La Villa in years and to my delight the place was beautiful inside. Loved all the paintings. It had a relaxed cozy feel which I enjoyed. The bread sticks where really good..although a little on the dry side. The sweet tea that I got was really good! I ordered the Chicken Cacciatore. It was very good. The tomatoes had a really robust and genuine taste to them. The Chicken was good as well. The owner of the restaurant walked table to table and asked how was everything, so that was nice. Overall a very good experience. The only downside was that our waitress forgot to bring us the check after I asked for a box and the check. Sat there for over 10 mins. I'll start with the good. The staff here was very friendly. The bread sticks that were served as an appetizer were pretty tasty. Unfortunately that's it. The place needs a makeover. It seems like a great candidate for the show 'Restaurant Impossible'. The menu included a number of chicken dishes, so my friend and I each decided to order chicken. We got marsala and scampi. Simple enough right? These are staples of any Italian restaurant. WRONG. The chicken was bizarre. It was extremely clear that it was not fresh. My chicken was in tiny pieces and almost looked like tuna from a can. It made me think of plain boiled chicken or maybe some really funky frozen chicken. It did not taste good. The marsala had whole pieces of chicken, but had the same strange taste and rubbery texture. It was clear that they were not utilizing seasonings or cooking the chicken in the sauces. I think they are just slapping a plain piece of thawed out, frozen pre-cooked chicken on top of pasta and pouring sauce over it. That leads me to the pasta. Very al dente, almost too al dente. Overall, I would never ever come to this restaurant again. If this is supposed to be some of the best Italian in Lynchburg, I am terrified. I'm going to have to move. read more

We had dinner here and it was overall mediocre. I had veal and it appeared to be packaged in and required a knife to cut. It didn't help that a fly landed on it which spoiled it more. My son had a pasta dish that ended up being tossed out after bringing it home. The 2 stars are for our server and the staff. I love La Villa so had to try this place out. It reminded me of the pizzerias back home in NY! They had a big variety of pizza as well as garlic knots, pepperoni roll ups and subs. Their prices were really good too! I liked the food but I don't think it was fresh. The sauce didn't taste right, not like La Villa's. Back home you can see them making everything in front of you. We had lunch at La Villa today & we decided that it would be the last time we ate there. It's been a few months since we ate there last and it's definitely changed. My husband ordered pizza & he said it tasted worst than frozen pizzas he buys in the store. I ordered a salad & the chicken on it tasted like it was cooked a few days ago & just reheated in the microwave. Service wasn't terrible but it also wasn't that great. Sure the owner walks around & says hi and asks how you're doing but that doesn't make the food taste any better. We over heard him telling another customer that he's opening up another in Lynchburg & looking to open another in Rustburg...why not keep quality at one before venturing out to opening more with horrible food?!!? read more

La villa has always been a place where My family goes to celebrate, the food is amazing and the atmosphere is very comfortable. Everyone that works there is very friendly and tries very hard to make your visit enjoyable. They have portable DVD players for kids, so they don't get bored. I used to love this restaurant and told friends how wonderful the food was. The last couple of times there though, has convinced me otherwise. I ordered lasagna last time, took one bite, and knew something was wrong. The texture of the meat looked grainy, and I saw no ricotta or other cheeses at all. I had my friend taste it and she said it tasted soured. Her dish was under seasoned, and ok. Not anything special. I don't know what has happened.
