We've been wanting to visit this place for years and finally made the trip. They have two sides with several tables but reservations are highly recommended. Lighting was low but appropriate and the conversation volume was where it should be with people speaking quietly. Food was really good. The artichoke dip was the special and really good. The pizza is wood burning and delicious. Drinks were ok nothing to write home about. The wait however was probably too long if I'm being honest. The drinks came out what it seemed like 20 minutes after we ordered. Other than that it was a really good spot.

TLDR: Above average wood fired pizza with simple, but well-crafted flavor combinations. Though there are a handful of pastas on the menu, the pizzas are where La Volata shines. The pizzas are thin crust and mine was evenly cooked with the perfect amount of just slightly overcooked crunchy bits without being burnt . I ordered the seasonal Summer Verdura pizza which had a miso cilantro lime sauce and corn. It reminded me of an Elote pizza I've had in the past from another restaurant and also very much enjoyed. It didn't have that much sauce which is my personal preference, but others may think is too dry. My friend got the honey pot pizza which she raved about. I also think it's a nice touch that you can add an egg or housemade bacon to any pizza. Our group wasn't hungry enough to try the garlic confit appetizer though we heard the people next to us raving about it. I also was eyeing the housemade ricotta, but alas, I will have to try both at my next visit I got the hot sandia summer cocktail that was refreshing bc of the fresh watermelon puree and was not very alcohol-forward, but IMO had way too much tajin on the rim and watermelon garnish. My friend got the drunken golfer and thought it had a nice balance of a citrus zing from the yuzu sake and lemon with the cooling herbaceous element from the mint. Ambiance was a 3/5, a slightly upscale pizza place but is quite small and they definitely need some kind of mosquito deterrent for the patio seating . We also noticed a lot of ants on our table. Service was also on the slower side but is to be expected with wood fired, made to order pizzas.

Arrabiata

Came on a Friday night. No tables available, but we were seated at the bar top right away! Bartender was busy. Took about 10 mins to get waters brought to the bar top. Another 5 after that to get drink and appetizer order in. Roasted garlic was exactly like the name implies. I'm a garlic lover, so I was happy. But maybe some herbs or additional simple spices would elevate this appetizer. Wanted to order the rigatoni pasta, but was told only pizza and appetizers for the night. (Seems like something that we maybe should've been told earlier). Chose to do two pizzas. Pizzas are made fresh, so they do take some time. Arrabiata was the favorite of the night. Thin crust, wood fired. Perfect amount of spice. Think it's a fun spot for a date night. Reservations are desirable. Understand everything takes time here, but you will taste the quality.

Came to this place for early dinner with friends. I had the speciality pizza with cashews. It was good, but my friend's honey pot was amazing! The charcuterie board had deliciousness but particularly the olives! The creme brûlée was amazing as well. The waitress was very attentive and very sweet! She gave good feedback and told us about specialties. The ambiance was good, but unfortunately there were a lot of flies and it got pretty warm when it got busy.

This place is a small but mighty local restaurant. You need to secure reservations well in advance if you w at to enjoy the inside decor!! SERVICE: Fabulous! Everyone was great from greeting to food time! FOOD: Not a single issue. We ordered multiple items, all tasty and worth the effort of waiting for a seat! Great food and atmosphere. A secret that is out. So try and get in if you can!!

NEW Fall Menu!!!

This place is a hidden gem!!!! The food was so fresh and I loved the fact that they change the menu with the seasons! I got to try many items off of the fall menu and they were truly fantastic! Kudos to the chefs for creating such phenomenal looking and trading Food! I definitely want to go back and try some of the pizzas because they looked delicious! I got the ravioli along with some bread and confit garlic! The olives were fresh and flavorful! The fresh baked, orange, and mint cookie was definitely worth the wait! My server was spectacular. She was so attentive even with a truly difficult table right next to me! Don't get me started on the truly beautiful artistic walls. I was told the owner hand painted them! It really was overall a fantastic experience and if you can get there run There!

Love La Volata! The food is always excellent whether you're having a pizza or one of the seasonal entrees. My favorite pizza is Funghi and my favorite entree is the Wagyu Steak! Love the Bread Plate (olives and almonds) and the dessert Cookie in the skillet!

Margarita Pizza

The service was great. Staff were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, very flavorful. We ordered the margarita pizza and rigatoni.

Bread plate with olives and almonds .EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS!

Is there s phone number i can call for reservation? I tried calling but no one answers the phone. How can we call for to go pizza?

They are only open in the evenings. Not sure what time you called.

Do they still have happy hour? If so what is the happy hour menu?

Yes! We have happy hour Friday and Saturday from 3-5 with live music most Saturdays (check our instagram for updates).

Would they accommodate a party of like 18 this thursday?

Call the restaurant since they take reservations. It is a small restaurant.

Is it good for kids?

I think well behaved children are welcome almost anywhere.

Is there gluten free options for pasta and pizza?

I'm positive there's a glutten free pasta but not sure about the pizza crust.

Is there actually outdoor seating?

There's a small patio that has a few tables for parties of 2-4 people

Is there a happy hour here?

Yup. 3-5 Fri-Sun

Any gluten free options?

Quite a few and they are very accommodating. They'll customize things for you. BTW they recently expanded and will have a full bar soon.

Lovely fresh flowers on the outside of the building, crisp and clean interior, plenty of seating in indoors and outdoors. We chose the covered outdoor section, because of the weather was lovely today. My iced lavender latte was phenomenal, perfectly sweetened. My friend had the iced dirty chai, which she loved, as well. The menu was so vast that we had difficulty choosing what we wanted to eat. I've already determined that I will go back with my husband to try more items! But for today, I ordered the mushroom Swiss Panini, and she ordered the Caprese on a ciabatta bun. We chose these sandwiches already knowing that we would swap a half to be able to try both! We were not disappointed. The bread on the mushroom Swiss was buttery toasted goodness, and cheese to mushroom ratio was just right. The Caprese was warm and savory, and the balsamic onion jam was absolutely delicious. Very pleased with our visit overall!

Excellent choice. The mushroom appetizer is seasoned perfectly, with just a hint of spice on the backend. It is perfectly paired with focaccia bread to soak up the sauce. I had the month's special Lobster ravioli. The sauce was a great balance of tomato and creamy flavors, but a nitpick is that within the ravioli the cheese slightly overpowered the lobster. The staff were quick, friendly, and attentive. The ambiance is quite nice with soft, warm lighting and an interesting and fun mix of textures and colors. The wall of TVs above the bar unfortunately do break the ambiance to some extent, but they're easy to ignore. I have now added Madri to my short list of downtown Redlands go-to restaurants!

I hadn't been in a few months, and decided to drop in this morning to eat, have coffee and edit photos on my laptop. During the several hours there, I got to overhear exchanges between customers and staff. The morning shift boys were young, but friendly. Let me tell you, once the day shift crew came on, the energy shifted. Andy, I HIGHLY recommend you replace the tall, thin guy with the glasses. The whole time he was there, he acted as if he didn't want to be there. He was rude, stand offish, and completely disregarded customers. As soon as he BLATANTLY ignored a female customer who was trying to have a conversation with him but gave attention to her male counterpart, I was over it. Listen, I get it, he might have not wanted to entertain someone's story. But customer service means to acknowledge the customer and treat them with respect. I can't even count the amount of times I've divulged in conversation with people I didn't want to, but I still treated them like a human. The woman was visibility upset about how off putting he was. I packed my things, went over to the woman and told her feelings were valid because he had been dismissive towards others ever since he came in. I know you're not going to care about my review, I know you're not going to lose much money if I never come back. But people need to aware what kind of employees are here. As for the food and coffee - The ingredients no longer taste fresh on the breakfast pizza. It tastes cheap and rushed. The iced vanilla latte I had was mid at best, I forced myself to finish it. Which is disappointing because I have loved both for years. I think the young boys need some better training on how to make coffee, but at least they were personable. The young guy with long curly hair - keep up that positive energy. You're gonna go somewhere. Highly recommend bringing Quay back full time, maybe make him a manager or part owner because every time I've been there and he's makes the pizzas, everything is He's a staple, and is clearly loved by all the customers who were happy to see him when he walked in. Also, maybe put the birch back on the empty corner wall, looks like someone ripped it off and it looks bad.
