Recently purchased a love seat from the Oxnard, CA store. The sales staff & manager mention the products have " a five year warranty. When the "design consultant" brought samples of fabric to our home and we selected one and purchased it, we were "given" a fabric care kit. The final invoice arrive and there was a $162. charge for the warranty and $40. for the fabric kit. Had these costs been disclosed up front they could have been discussed. Instead, they were snuck on to the invoice at the end. Store has agreed to remove the charges, as long as we drop off the kit, which is satisfactory. However it left an unsavory opinion of this store's sales methods. And really, after spending $1,600. the company only backs their product with a one year warranty! read more

I purchased a rocker recliner on 6/16/3: I originally went to Lazyboy just to check out the recliners. I had heard good things and generally thought they were a quality brand. After actually visiting the store I was really impressed with their sales associates as well : ) You really get the impression that these people care about what type of furniture you end up with and are not just trying to load your bill up to the max. I was given a complete run down on the features and function of the particular chair I liked the most (The Joshua). Go check this thing out if your in need of an amazing recliner, well worth the time. Overall I think Lazyboy is a far more professional showroom than most other furniture stores. I am really excited to get another piece of furniture from them in a year or two once I move into my condo and need the matching loveseat. read more

After having an issue at the Oxnard location I contacted the main office. They took down all of the information I provided regarding the horrible experience I had at their store. This was in November. I requested a call back. A few weeks later I called back again. It seems they had no information on file? It is now December 9th , once again I am calling as no one from their company has contacted me. This shows me their lack of customer service from a corporate level as well. They have Brooke Shields endorse their products but Brooke doesn't know how they mistreat their customers and how they do not respond to issues the customers have. Liked the store personnel when we went to look but the Manager really pushes the cleaning products. Reminds me of car salesmen that push unneeded and rip off extended warranties hehe. All in all, she was very efficient and knew her stuff. My issue was when I tried to set up delivery of my purchase I called, got a machine the first time and left my info to have them call me. Next day, no call yet so I called first thing in the morning and left the same message. Guess what? By late afternoon, no return call again. I called the regular main line and pressed to talk to a sales person and finally got some help. I was slightly irked when Linda that set it up tried to make excuses for them not calling me back. She said that they deal with the in store customers first...uh, so...you get my money and then for 2 days no return call to schedule delivery?? I don't think so! I told her there was no excuse after 2 days and 2 calls. I will have second thoughts about going back there next time. read more

I purchased La-Z-Boy furniture in Colorado several years ago and had a positive experience with the quality of the furniture and Comfort Care warranty. It prompted me to purchase over $3500 of furniture at the Oxnard, CA store plus the warranty. BIG MISTAKE! I spent the past year calling La-Z-Boy to correct a problem and just had the run around. I was even told by their Comfort Care dept. that they do not "guarantee comfort" after having three visits by their techs that said my couch cushions were defective. And no one in my household is over weight sitting on them. It has been an unending, unsatisfying loop with having 4 of the same cushion stuffing replacements. In my opinion, La-Z-Boy has poor quality furniture and customer service if you have a problem. read more

Melissa did a wonderful job of narrowing down our options to replace our 10 year old La-Z-Boy sofa-recliners. We placed our order in December and were told our new sofas would be delivered around the first week in February; they were delivered on Saturday. Up until the time of delivery both Donovan and the store manager called to give updates. We had originally gone to the store in Agoura Hills and had a negative experience. Although we bought our original sofas in Oxnard, Agoura was closer to us and we didn't expect a different type of customer service. As a result, we were thinking of shopping elsewhere but we loved our old sofas and appreciated that they are made in the USA. Luckily, we returned to our original store of purchase and they restored our faith in the La-Z-Boy brand. read more

Needed a recliner that looked fabulous to anchor a room we were redoing. With an idea of theme and color I went into La-Z-Boy because, well, where else do you go for a recliner?? Donevahn let me wander around the store until I found the style and comfort I was looking for in the Fletcher chair. Then Donevahn helped me find the perfect fabric that goes with the colors and feel that I was looking to create in the room. I was able to take color printouts of the chair in several fabrics to look at in the room and that made the process even easier. I even got a better deal than I was expecting thanks to Donevahn. Buyer beware of the Ultra Shield furniture care 5 year protection plan. I purchased 2,recliners and a sofa in April, 2013 and a few months ago the arm on my recliner and the seat and arm on one side of the sofa began to peel. I forgot that i purchased the protection plan on all of the items until recently. When i called the 800 number on the brochure bearing the Ultra Shield logo i was told the plan does not cover peeling. When i told the representative that the brochure said cracking and peeling are covered his response was, WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR INFORMATION ON THE BROCHURE. I was also told that i waited too long to report the damage. I have no pets, i live alone and the furniture was not abused. Don't waste your money on Ultra Shield furniture care. read more

My husband and I walked into the store 30 minutes before the store closed and we never felt any pressure to make a quick decision. They called us with updates about our order, checked in to see how we liked our couches once they had arrived, and even sent us a handwritten 'Thank You' card. We LOVE our couches! After spending an hour with the sales woman (who was wonderful!) we decided to purchase a recliner couch and 2 recliner chairs for a total of $7851.01. We were told that we would have to put a down payment because the chairs we wanted were not in stock and would need to be ordered.....thought we could do this when we applied for the Lazy-Boy credit but NO! After credit approval for the entire purchase they INSISTED we put down $1640.00 before they would continue and we could NOT do this with the Lazy-Boy credit that we'd already applied for, it had to be ANOTHER form of payment......then why would you APPLY for the entire credit? They used the terms "custom" ordering for the chairs which was only the fact that they didn't have the CHAIRS in the SAME color as the COUCH!!!!! What is custom about that....it's just NOT IN STOCK!!! I felt bad ONLY for the saleswoman who helped us as she spent SO much time helping us and we were all ready to seal the deal but for their ridiculous down payment "policy?" only being accepted using anything OTHER than the Lazy Boy credit we were already approved for.....I even asked the manager if we should just come back when we had the Lazy-Boy credit card in hand for the down payment but he said NO! I just don't understand......I guess we're going back to Restoration Hardware for their couches. They have better reviews too.....didn't check that until now. I hope the sales people don't work on commission because their "policy" cost her the commission on the $7851.01 that we were ready and able to spend. Now going to BBB to file a complaint over the credit application for nothing...........something wrong with that picture too! read more

I had the the absolute worse experience I have ever had once I received my furniture. It was falling apart after 6 months. The veneer in all three tables was peeling and I tried to make a claim with Ultra Shield. They sent out a man with furniture markers that are made to repair scratches in real wood. It looked like a toddler had colored on the table. This was not the solution to peeling veneer. The repair man told me next time I should buy real wood. The insurance company refused to replace the tables. I called the store to find out if they could help me as the insurance they recommended would not. The store also said they could not do anything for me. I spent over $3000 dollars and I had to throw away the coffee table and the end tables look terrible. The sofa and chair have to be replaced as well. The corporate office will not return phone calls, so there is absolutely no one that is willing to help when there is any problems. It's very disappointing when I was looking so forward to having nice furniture and it turned out to be a waste of money and time trying to get costumer service on my low quality furniture. Please think it over carefully before purchasing from this company. read more
