We had an excellent experience working with Donovan in the showroom. We drove down from Santa Barbara and because of a scheduled surgery, needed to purchase the right recliner that evening which would help my friend be comfortable post surgery. The worst brand/company ever. Needed to get a recliner serviced, after waiting for 2.5 hrs on hold, finally scheduled an appointment, for a week later (which was fine). I was told we would be contacted the day before to tel us the time for techniican to show up. No phone call the day before. The day of, I called to check on our appointment and was told, even though I had a service ticket, they didn't know why a time wasn't scheduled and they would not be showing up. The only alternative, to reschedule for 10 days later!!! Asked if they would really call and show up this time, they said we can't guarantee anything. So don't really know if they will or will not show up. No explanation on why, even though we had a service ticket, no one actually scheduled us. Just, oh well, you'll have to reschedule. Horrible service on a chair less than 3 years old and $2400. Never again!! Worst after care service!!!!!! And no remorse for such bad service. read more

I visited Lazy Boy today thinking about buying a recliner. Saw on line sales in the $500 range. When I got there I was greated by Jessica. I told her what I had seen on line and the price range. She showed me the chairs that would fit into that price range. Not what I was looking for. So with out any pressure she directed me to some others, that were not in that price range, but fit more of what I was looking for. She was very pleasent and not pushy which I would normally expect in this situation. Great store. Nice people. Donovan helped us. He was especially helpful. Our order was to take 8-10 weeks. Two weeks later, we were told it would be more like 12---maybe. They claimed not to know why except that the factory was backed up, and there was no way to get specific information as to when delivery would be. It's not their fault, but there definitely needs to be better communication between the factory and the retail store. Based on the delay and the lack of specifics going forward, we had to cancel the order. I wish we didn't have had to. read more

Recently purchased a recliner from this store. It was delivered defective. I was told there would be no returns, but convinced corporate to take it back. In turn there defective furniture cost me shipping and return pick up totaling over $200.00. If I were you I would go elsewhere. This company does not stand behind there merchandise. read more

While the staff is knowledgable and the furniture nice, it is vastly overpriced, and prone to breaking. I purchased a very expensive recliner, the frame for which broke inside 18 months. I then found that their "warranty" was extremely limited, and the repairs, another $150 roughly, had to come out of pocket, with a repair estimate of three weeks. That repair job lasted about another 18 months, and broke again. Their repairs warranty? 30 days! Now it's another $110 to start with, paid in advance, for them to fix it, with a repair date 2+ weeks in the future. This company does not stand by their furniture or repair work, therefore l would not recommend buying here, especially given the high costs of the initial purchase. read more

Comment Or Question Message: I bought furniture on 4/10/11 for $3360.71.I got a 20% off coupon, which is what got me to go to the store. I got the coupon in march or april '11. The furniture was defective when it was delivered, although i didn't discover that for 2 days. the arms of the furniture was incorrectly upholstered. I've contacted customer service 9xs times & the store 7xs to resolve the problem. 2 techs have come out and taken pics.the 1st said the arms need to be reupholstered, but corporate claimed nothing was wrong the 1st time I talked to them. in another phone call they said the right arm of the chaise and the seat cushion needed to be repaired. my complaint was that the 4 arms of the the 2 chaises and chair & 1/2 needed to be repaired. La Z Boy corporate is the only 1 who can resolve the problem. the store manger has no power whosoever to repair the furniture, which i think is a HUGE problem. the furniture I got is different than the floor sample at the store. I have pics of the floor sample and what I got. I feel they were deceptive and did a "bait and switch" on me. they showed me 1 thing and delivered an entirely different 1. i want the 4 arms reupholstered and done correctly, exactly like the floor sample asap! as of 8-8 both corporate & the store have refused to return my calls! read more

Maria and Eva are amazing interior designers/sales associates. I came into Lazboy on Thursday, looking for a couch/loveseat to match dining chair fabric. Maria helped me first and then involved Eva into the decision making. We all selected fabrics/rugs, which could potentially go with the dining chair fabric. Eva said she could visit my home in Goleta on Friday morning to measure my LR, DR for accurate placement, color coordination. Later on Friday, I drove back to the Lazboy store and finalized a deal after seeing a computer display of where my furniture/rugs could go and the discounted sales price! I was such a happy buyer that I even called them up on Monday morning to add a recliner for my husband. Take my advice, visit Lazboy, and ask for Maria and/or Eva! My husband and I felt compelled to write this because of the terrible and dishonest treatment that we received at La-Z-Boy in Oxnard. Here's why: We purchased a duo reclining sofa, and from the beginning of our interaction with the sales person, we made it clear that we are on a budget and don't want any extras. We ended up ordering the sofa with custom pillows because the sales rep told us that there was no additional charge to upgrade the pillows. At the time of purchase, we signed an agreement saying we could not cancel or change the order after 72 hours. So, on the fourth day(outside the window to cancel), the sales rep called me and happily stated that there was a delay on the order, and we would not be receiving our sofa until Late May, early June. I told him we'd like to cancel because we were told 4-6 weeks, but he said we were outside of the window.(they called us to inform us of the delay after the window that we could cancel was over). That's dishonest.I asked why there was a delay, and he said that all of the duo reclining sofa's production are delayed. (They should have told us that from the beginning if there was a delay). So, we had no choice but to wait, and found an ad for the same La-Z-Boy sofa that we bought for just under $200 cheaper. We called and requested a store credit for the difference, but were denied because the store manager told us that we ordered custom pillows, so they could only credit us $13!!(that means we were charged $187 extra for our "custom" pillows when the sales rep told us that it was no additional charge to change the fabric on the pillows!) That's also dishonest. The store manager just kept arguing with me until I gave up. This is the worst customer service experience I've ever had. Please, save yourself from this dishonesty, and never shop at La-Z-Boy Oxnard. read more

The funny thing is we were going to the bank and had no intention of getting a piece of furniture that day. Something in the window caught my eye so I wanted to check it out, mind you not a chair lol. We were nicely greeted upon arrival by everyone who worked in the store. We were browsing around looking and sitting in all the comfy couches and checking out all the great pieces they have. I walked to the back and sat in the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in my life. It is a recliner with memory foam, it hugs my backside in all the right places. Linda was very knowledgeable, patient, and helped us in every step of the way. And we thought like every other store out there that they work on commission and surprisingly they do not so it was all genuine help. Another plus is all the furniture is manufactured in the USA and they have a limited lifetime warranty. All of it is made in CA. We had something that was in stock so we ordered on Tuesday and got the chair on Thursday. The delivery drivers were efficient, moved the old furniture and were courteous and early. Another amazing plus they promise a 30 day price guarantee, if at anytime you see a deal on what you purchased in the 30 days after, they will reimburse you. I called today and had that happen without a hiccup. I highly recommend going to this shop, I will be back to get the rest of my furniture when needed. read more

Don't go there! We know they are overpriced, but they are also incompetent. We have been looking for a specific table that their corporate office said they had. We were connected with the store and I spoke with Esmerelda who confirmed that they had it. She was given the manufacturer and item number. We just left the store and they were sorry, but wrong. They don't have the table, but they can bring it in from another state. Okay, I'll do that, but I must commit to buy it before I see it. I'll commit, but according to the store, I must purchase it EVEN if it arrives damaged. Not cool. First, you're lazy and wrong and then you don't stand behind your merchants. I bought a leather reclining couch in 2010 and it already has issues. Spent close to 4-K and waited 3-months for the delivery. The right-side of the couch's mechanism broke twice, once in 2012 and now in 2014. What a disaster. Lazy-Boy does not stand-by the quality of their products. Contacting the local store and the corporate HQ is useless; other than if you're prepared to spend more money. It doesn't make sense to me why the corporate HQ is without a complaint department. After speaking with CSR; I was in disbelief... Oh well, they got my cash-(ONE-TIME-ONLY) My experience of Lazy-Boy on several occasions is; they lack customer service qualities and in case thay lack customer satisfaction. Instead, the main effort seems to be in sales, delivery whenever is convenient for them, and; deflection of customer issues on to someone else. When that fails, its the customer whom remains holding the issue. I came, I saw, and I wittnessed in disbelief the lack and willingness to serve the customer. CSP's do not have answers needed to help mitigate the issue. Instead they offer to generate a service call (at your expense $109.00), inthis case my second. I asked the question who handles complaints, the answer I got was; sorry, but there is no one else you can contact to handle your complaint. I've certainly learned my lesson. A business that doen't stand-by their products, or fails to provide exceptioanl quality customer service, is no business I'll be visiting anytime soon. Sorry Lazy-Boy, its time to move on. I got a new recliner yesterday from La-Z-Boy in Oxnard and had the best experience. Donovan was the person who helped me and he was hilarious, easy to talk too and work with, and he got things done with a warm disposition! My husband and I went in there for a specific reason and Donovan did not push us to purchase anything else, which I personally appreciate a lot. He spoke very well about options and explained how we can get different fabrics and change the type of recliner we wanted to fit our space. Worst customer service ive ever encountered. My father and I went in on black friday (not dressed the best) and a rude salesman barely acknowledged us and make us feel uncomfortable.
