I want to let you know what a blessing coming into your location was. Nicole at the front desk was so attentive and helpful. I had been turned away from another blood drawing facility after booking an appointment with them. Upon walking into this lab Nicole said unfortunately we can't help you either because we don't take your insurance but proceeded to get on the phone and call my insurance company on my behalf explain the situation to them and get the answers I needed. I had to leave because my son became ill, but Nicole took my phone number and followed up with me later in the day. This is the BEST customer service I have ever experienced at a medical facility. Since re-opening, I have had to come to this facility 3 times and all 3 have been totally pleasant experiences. When the waiting room was full, I waited under 15 minutes. That's not bad at all! Everyone was friendly. I just looked up what time they open for today and was surprised to see so many negative reviews.... but hey people usually only write reviews when they're mad! I've been to Lab Corp twice now and feel the need to sprinkle a good review in here amongst all these horror stories. Yes, they get busy! Go when it's not a peak time, if possible. That's harder with fasting tests, I know. But today (a Saturday) I went in at 11am for a fasting test and was called back almost right away. There was only 1 other person in the waiting room when I arrived. Call ahead and ask. Both phlebotomists I've seen have been sensitive to the fact that I tend to almost pass out. They watched me closely and asked how I felt throughout. The phlebotomist today even fanned me while I came back to Earth & got a cup of water for me. They have been patient and kind to me on both visits. I've not experienced anything other than that here. They are skilled and the draw went well on both occasions. read more

Showed up at appointment time after a two week wait period for an 8:45am time slot. Upon arrival they advised me to do the urinalysis which I was happy to give. Then we got to the Blood draw and I informed them they needed to use a "butterfly" needle and take the Blood from the top of my hand......Big Problem!!! They were out of butterfly needles!!! What??? You are a Lab and you are out of needles??? They then suggested I drive myself (with urine in hand) to their Encinitas/Santa Fe location which had butterfly needles. They tried to call that location to advise them I was coming but that location doesn't answer their phones! What a nightmare! The only redeeming thing to this horrible morning was Bridget at LabCorp Santa Fe Drive who was fast, kind, apologetic, and got the Blood draw done from my hand painlessly! read more

Wife lost her job because of negligence by unprofessional staff. Two technicians were professional, but one was rude and mean the second the others left the office. She yelled at my wife for taking too long for urinalysis and scared her while trying to pee. She packaged up the specimen and sent it off knowing it was not enough for a test. When the results came back as failed due to not enough sample. Job lost. Thank you! read more

Go to Pathology Inc a block away instead. It's so friendly and fast. Whereas I've been here at Lab Corp an hour when they said it would be a half hour and I'm starved from a fast and might miss my meeting. I hate this place. I wish I was at Pathology inc instead! At pathology inc there's one experienced woman who's amazing and always there. This place is a bunch on youngins. Ugh. read more

Terrible patient service. I spent over an hour in the waiting room to give a blood sample for which I had a standing order from my doctor. Many other patients came and went so I finally asked the receptionist what the problem was. For the first time she told me that she couldn't find my paper work. Her excuse was that she was too busy, even though she was not helping patients for most of the time I there. I finally had to go to my doctors office to get the lab order myself. The people who work here are rude and incompetent. Avoid going here for lab tests if you can. read more

Waiting room looks clean however the back where they draw the blood was FILTHY, UNSTERILE and unorganized. Looked like a messy break room. Walls, floor looked dirty, stuff piled everywhere, large rolling trash can in middle of room. Plus I waited 50 minutes WITH an appointment. Clearly the front desk was confused and called patients out of order. In going back to Quest where it looks clean and sterile, not like some back alley lab. For all it's worth, here's my review. This is the worst Lab I have ever gone too. Service was very slow I waited 1 hour for a simple blood test. I arrived right at 6:50am because I didn't know if people would be lining up early. I needed to be in and out to get to work on time. They opened the doors today at 7:15am. I check in first there were several people behind me and I was in and out by 7:40. I had blood work done and the gal was very sweet she could tell I was nervous, so she told me "almost done" which made all the difference. Great experience. Fast, simple, and easy. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I am normally a Quest girl, but had to come here for a TB test. As always, I made an appointment. Unless you are being sent right from the Doctor's, make an appt! You will then always get priority and I have never had to wait more than 15 minutes past my time. If you are having to wait an hour, it is because they have to see the people with appts. first. My problem with Labcorp isn't their customer service, which isn't great but, for me, at least, hasn't been horrible. My problems are, first, that the place doesn't seem as clean as other labs I've gone to. When they take my blood I feel like they're doing it in a storage room. Secondly, and much more important, I don't trust their results. I recently had a UTI, gave them a sample of urine that was tinged pink with blood, and the results came back as "normal". I don't think so. If you have a choice, go elsewhere. read more

Worst customer service. I was there this morning. I stood there with three employees in front of me and neither one of them greeted me. One of them practically shouted at me for not being able to find a door geez! The man in the back handling all specimens was rude and gave me an attitude for asking another question. Absolutely dread coming here. Appointments need to be made way in advance. If you walk in expect an hour ( or more) wait, which is especially fun if you're fasting or just trying to get to work on time. They are always understaffed and the receptionists, while professional, are very chilly and not at all helpful. Avoid this place if you have other options. Also note there are 2 locations in Encinitas - just to make it more confusing. So make sure you're going to the correct place if you are able to get an appt. read more

We have been here several times and it has always been bad. This recent time was the worst. My daughter had to have blood drawn, two vials. A day prior to the draw she had to be off her medication which makes her very ill. The lab tech drew only one vial. My daughter explained she need two, each with a different color top. The tech would not do it. She assured her she knew what she was doing. She was very rude. We raced to another lab but had exceeded the time window for the draw. Later that afternoon the tech left a massage on my daughter's phone saying she needed her to come in for another vial per doctor's orders. It was so frustrating to see my daughter have to deal with this when just getting out of bed is a labor for her. Now we have to go through the entire process once again next week. We need to reschedule our doctors appointment because the draw is late. People should not have to deal with a lab like this one. STAY AWAY. read more

the gal at the front desk was sweet and courteous and efficient. the reason for the low rating is the awful guy who drew my blood. i have a needle phobia so brought my eyeshade and ipod, which i've done for years. he was gruff and intimidating and wouldn't wait until i got my eyeshade on. i asked him to please wait so i didn't see the needle. i asked for a butterfly needle and he refused, saying ONLY IF I HAVE TO. every person who has taken my blood has said how lucky i am to have such easy veins. he poked me twice the most painfully anyone has ever done, refused to use the butterfly needle, and 5 days later i still have a bruise where he jabbed me. he made the experience much more traumatic than it needed to be. previous labcorp employees have been gentle and kind. he's in the wrong profession and if someone doesn't already have a needle phobia, they might after having him try to take blood. he needs to be kicked to the curb. read more

I don't do well with getting blood drawn (I've fainted in the past) but I needed to get some blood work because my doctor wanted some tests done. I was a little hesitant about coming here after reading the reviews but none of the labcorp locations seemed to have great reviews so I came here for the location. I made an appointment for 9:30 am because I had to fast for it. When I walked in, the front desk lady didn't say anything until I was done signing in but whatever, that's not too unusual (she also seemed busy typing). Within 1 minute I was called up and asked for my insurance card. I had forgotten my papers from my doctor but they said it wasn't a problem and got them online. Right away I was taken into the room (another person getting blood taken was also in there) but it wasn't crammed by any means. It did kind of look like an old storage room. I have pretty pale skin but my veins can be hard to find especially when I fast but the lady found my vein right away and it was as painless as it could be. She was talking to me the whole time and kept asking me if I felt dizzy because I told her I have fainted before. Before you knew it, I was finished. The total process took less than 5 minutes and I was out the door at 9:37. I would definitely come back again but only with an appointment. There were people without appointments who were there before me and who were still waiting when I left but I think they were about to be seen. I wish I knew the lady's name who took my blood. I know she had a 3 year son. But she was awesome! Thanks for making me feel comfortable! read more
