Had a HORRIFIC customer experience with Riley. I waited 10 minutes to see a bag. Riley was helping another customer on the end of the counter. She pulled the bag I was waiting to see as a RECOMMENDATION to the lady she was helping, SHE DIDNT EVEN ASK TO SEE IT!! I politely let her know that was the bag I was waiting to see. She then LAUGHED at me and ignored what I said. I felt racially profiled as I am a younger latina woman and the lady she was helping was an older white woman. Super disappointing, the woman ended up buying the bag I had been waiting unattended for. DO NOT COME HERE!! read more

RACIST !!! , #1 I'm a young black female, I came across this store twice and both times I was not happy with the service I wasn't spoken too once the whole entire time ( I was there for 45mins ) even when I was looking at items in shelves/ cases I was watched and followed as well maybe it was because I was carrying my neverfull which is a bigger bag ? Labels lost their lead pricer Alex, who was very good at her job but only there for a short time, and ever since it takes so long to have inventory placed on the floor that your items go out of season. The staff is now a mix of ostentatious gen z boys with big jewels and stuffy elder women. Items are frequently lost or maimed. read more

This place is ok. Granted, I couldn't find anything, but it wasn't for lack of trying, just couldn't find anything that caught my eye. I will say the bags were gorgeous, so next time in the need of a bag and feel like splurging, I might just return. read more

I sold for years with 50% cut. Last time when I attempted to sell a Louis Vuitton bag but I went back to the store to pull it out and take my item back. The owner Lynn got very upset and told me I wasted her time for pricing the item. Either you sell your items at a rip off rate or if you changed your mind for keeping your item, the owner will get upset. read more

Beware of Labels. Do not consign here! This place is a fraud! The owner, Lynn is extremely rude and condescending when you have questions that make her uncomfortable. But, is as sweet as cotton candy when you are dropping off your items. This lady needs a class in professionalism. If it were not for consigners, she wouldn't have a business. This summer I brought in several items, including a pair of nude Christian Louboutin pumps (still sold in stores) that I literally only wore once on a trip to NYC and had the red sole added to protect the life of the shoe, some Jimmy Choo wedges, probably worn twice at the most, and a Burberry handbag. Her designer appraiser wasn't there so I received a receipt with the list of items I was consigning and was set up with an online account to check the assigned value in a few days. A week later, I logged in and saw the value, which I was ok with. I literally have had these items for 6 years and was fine with selling them for a decent price and then getting a commission. After 6 months, only the clothing was sold, but the 3 higher priced designer items hadn't yet sold and were set to expire. Today I log in and no longer see the designer pieces so I give them a call. They couldn't locate me by my phone number even though I distinctly recall giving Lynn (who checked in my items) my new phone number to update their system. She finally finds me and I ask when I can arrange to pick up the 3 pieces that hadn't sold. She then tells me that they did sell after the expiration date of 10/21/22, but sold for much less than I agreed to. Is it a coincidence that the more expensive items sell AFTER the expiration date when they can discount the pricing? My spidey senses tell me it's not. But, I digress. After I ask why I wasn't told the items would be sold for less, the salesperson tells me that it's on my contract, to which I respond, "what contact?" She tells me that it's in the contract I signed. I told her I do not recall signing a contract back in June. She asks if I want to speak with Lynn and puts her on the phone. Lynn is very fake nice when she picks up and I ask her about this contract and if I could get a copy with this policy of reducing the selling price after expiration. She tells me I can view it on their website. I ask about getting my signed copy. This horrible woman tells me that she will not provide me with a copy unless she has to because she has over 20,000 customer contacts. Are you serious? I don't care if you have 1 million customers, if I request anything with my signature on it, it must be provided. Is this her idea of exceptional service? Or is that not on the menu at Labels? What kind of filing system is in place that would make this a herculean effort? Is this 1979 or 2022? So it sounds like the only way to get a copy of a contract is to get an attorney to request it on my behalf. And if that is what it takes, I will do it because now it's about principle, not money. I will never consign with or support this business ever again! The way Lynn treats consigners is abhorrent and may be illegal. read more

It's been about 8 years since my experience here. I was speaking with my coworker about Yelp and mentioned my longstanding review of Labels. "I feel so bad for that woman." Said my coworker. And I did a double take. Because at 22, I had no children, and would not have understood the pressure a business owner with a child was under. Yes, the experience was inexcusable. But it's been long enough that while no one has ever reached out to me, I was willing to let it go and move on. So on a recent trip to Walnut Creek I considered going in. On another, I actually did. And ya know what? I missed Labels. They still have great sales and after purchasing the shoe store next door, they're huge. They've done well for themselves since that tiny store on Newell. And good for them. I checked out their sale rack as I always used to do and during my visit I was ignored. Honestly - since my face is so recognizable I partly assumed I'd be asked to leave. But I really wanted an excuse to update my review so I was willing to risk it. To me, moving on was worth it. So during my next few trips to the East Bay, each time I visit Rags, I'll visit Labels. And I'll update my review regarding the service I experience. While they're not starting off with a clean slate like Threads, and Labels will never be my go-to spot over Rags, 8 years is long enough for a bad day to impact someone. What is happening here?? This used to be such a great store with great things, now their are clothes that have been their for years. The girls (teenagers) that work their don't know what their doing, maybe because the manager is such a disrespectful creature, she talks to the young girls that work there like their stupid and is just horrible. Don't try to sell here. I tried to sell a Chanel bag. They said their designer "expert" was off that day so they weren't able to tell me the price they'd sell it for. I stupidly left the bag with them along with my contact info. I get called days later saying my bag sold and to pick up my check. It was for $80. They claimed it was a fake despite me having authenticity paperwork. I feel an employee merely wanted a designer bag for cheap and decided I was easy prey. So I learned my lesson the hard way. I am not from the area so my first time to San Fran/Walnut Creek was last year and I stumbled upon Labels - I now own the most amazing article of clothing from this store so I was counting down the days until I could come back! I finally was able to make it back out here from the east coast and found even more amazing items! The staff is out of this world - huge shoutouts to Helen for choosing things I would have never even noticed, Michele and the owner Lynn. I really have to laugh at the negative reviews on here and now spend what little free time I have giving a positive review for this store. In my interactions with Lynn, the owner, can she be brief? Yes. Rushed and in a hurry? Yes. Forgetful at times, blunt, and very matter of fact/to the point? Sure, but I understand that she has a lot going on. Here are just 10 examples: 1. A ton of inventory. 2. A ton of customers, both shoppers and consigners. 3. Employees. 4. The stress of running a business in and of itself. 5. Seemingly an antiquated system. 6. MANY different personalities to manage in an environment that is fast paced and not meant to necessarily be run as a specialized boutique. 7. A busy shop on a busy street in downtown Walnut Creek. 8. Needing to constantly keep watch for inventory loss, especially with high ticket items. 9. People showing up without appointments wanting to consign. 10. Her own life as well! Ever think that maybe someone else may have things going on too? In my opinion she is a boss and runs her place as such. No attitude, no fluff, just the facts, no wasting time, and no coddling. She knows what will sell, knows when to take certain items, knows good business boundaries, and stands her ground. As for the items and their prices, if you don't like them, that's simple, don't go or don't buy them! Same as a higher end restaurant. Don't go and then complain about the prices! I appreciate her matter of fact attitude, then again I am from the east coast and we just are more prone to being honest and forthright and not sugarcoating or faking it, so there's that. She's real and always friendly, happy to see me, remembers me, and treats me with kindness, warmth, and a welcoming attitude. Instead of bashing her or her store, perhaps take a look at your attitude and expectations. As one who just started consignment, and her shop being the second one that I tried, it is nice to know that I can trust someone with my never used or barely used items to make room for more or just to simply make space and even make a few bucks or spend in her establishment. Regardless of being new to consignment, she helped me to understand the process, even without an appointment, and was thoroughly informative, kind, and definitely made me want to do more business with her for the long haul. read more

I went to the store, they have great jewelry and clothes, all the clothes have security tags, so with what intention to put security cameras that can be seen perfectly from the dressing rooms when you are trying on the clothes. I am very worried if there really is privacy when someone undresses to try on something. read more

Came today for the first time. They are always closed when I walk by but saw their sign for the parking lot sale and hopped in. Nice selection. None of the super high end stuff was on sale but still lots of great options. Picked out a couple of cute dresses. So buyers's beware--- look at the labels carefully. I really liked a "Burberry" blazer which Labels had put in the Burberry section and labeled "Burberry" on the tag. I looked carefully and realized it was a Nordstroms knockoff and said "Burberry's " on the label on the inside of the blazer by Nordstrom. Even had similar font but clearly a knockoff. When I pointed this out to the salesclerk she said," still a good price" which it was not ($168) for a used knockoff. Then the other salesclerk said ," well sometimes the customer puts it in the wrong place". Except that is also complete BS since the store label said "Burberry" not "Burberry's". I came here on Sunday afternoon. The shop was fairly busy with shoppers selling and buying merchandise. There were only two sales reps so there was a wait at the register. I had a great experience here because I prefer no one bothers me unless I need help. In that respect, they were great and didn't try to intrude. They were also quick to help me find sizes and hold items. I would be back to find more hidden gems here. They have a good selections of luxury items! read more

As so many have said, the owner Lyn, is a shrew. Horribly rude! I haven't had an experience with her but I've been in the store many times and have seen her berate, yell and scream at customers. I saw a young girl and her mother get screamed at by Lyn. The girl started crying and it was really awful. She just wanted to see something in a case and Lyn told her she was a waste of time! Lyn does this in front of all customers. She's really gets unglued and maybe she's not well mentally? Something is very off with her. read more

DON'T DO IT unless you're ready to be robbed of your time and money. I have requested no less than 8 times for my items to be collected for me to pick up. So parking is kind of hard here. So you might have to walk a little to get there. I was really excited to come here. I love a lot of high end brands I sometimes can spend a lot of money. This place is ok. High fashion is nice but not because it's high fashion means I'll buy it. It also has to be nice and up to date. The shoes and quality were ok. I've purchased better online. The clothes were kind of something an older person would wear. I really don't think it's for anyone young. The jewelry was not that good. It was a little dingy in there just looked a little old. It's ok you might get lucky and find a good thing I unfortunately did not. I'll stick to buying online of from the actual designers. read more

Label's is not the store for me. My lifestyle doesn't mesh well with designer clothes, bags, shoes and other accessories. Even if it did, I doubt I would want to spend money for top designer items new or used. However, if you do--this might be an ideal store for you to pickup almost new designer duds. Everything seemed organized and clean. I browsed the racks and looked on the shelves and all the merchandise looked new and not dated. No one asked if I need any help finding anything. If also like to call to attention that this woman literally said to me "there's something wrong in your head" What's even more pathetic is that I have a close contact that has made the same requests about his items and his call never gets returned. He's submitted hundreds of items. Making labels a considerable return. So how does your company work? Do you just wait for clients items to expire and continue to collect or their items. This owner is not an honest person. I mean how can I go into your location. Looking to retrieve my requested items. Have an employee point to my item in a locked display case, tell me she doesn't have the key. And then the owner tells me it's not an item she would lock up and that it "sold" months ago... New Update as of 9/13... I have a client (90+ y/o) who has been trying to get a return call since 8/19..... he's got items on the floor that he's requested be collected (2 months ago) that are still being actively sold even after he's requested to close his account multiple times.... The salewomen were rude and lazy. I went in on a Sunday (May 28th) to pick up a dress I had put on hold. The very young lady couldn't see it on the hold rack and asked me what kind of dress it was. I explained it was a sheath dress and told her the colors. She spent a long time looking for it and came back with a couple that were nothing like a sheath dress. Turned out she didn't know what sheath dress was. So while she was on the other side of the store still looking for the dress I went through the very small hold rack and immediately found it. She obviously hadn't really looked. It was very frustrating and such a waste of time. I had a gift card and she didn't know how to do the transaction so she had to get someone else to do it. I was getting a little impatient by this time. The woman who came to help with the transaction was even more rude and lazy. When I asked if she could write on the gift card the remaining balance she pushed a pen and the receipt towards me and walked off. I still have around $88 left on the gift card and I just am so reluctant to ever go into the store again. Who would ever want to shop at a place where the salespeople act like they're doing you a favor just by being there?! The employee code on the receipt is RE. My mother and I were shopping in Walnut Creek and went into Labels because we love the store and normally have a great experience. I bought my senior ball dress there and my mother bought a purse there before. However, this time, as we were looking around the store, an older white lady began following us around. I am a young black girl and my mother is a younger Mexican woman. This woman stayed within 5 ft of us THE ENTIRE TIME! Even as we looked at jewelry, which is clearly in a case, she stood right next to us. My mother, being quite frustrated by this woman who clearly thinks we are trying to steal, asks her if she needs something and she proceeds to tell us she was trying to help and gets flustered because my mother pointed out that she had followed us around the store. She then tells us "Well the items are locked", as if we weren't able to see that when we were looking around! There are enough designer labels here to make a gal's head spin. I have never purchased anything from WC or the Berkeley store, but have been consigning for about a year. Overall a good experience. Of course I can get much more return if I were to do it myself online, but who has the time?!? I had my friend do it online for me for a year and then I brought my eBay leftovers to Labels. It's a 50/50 split. Lynn is really personable and lovely. She'll even write little notes on the checks to her clients. She has transferred my items from Berkeley to WC because she thought they would do better at the location. Very nice. Without lifting a finger, I have managed to accumulate over 4 figures of moola from consigning at Labels, all I had to do was drop off the stuff! If I feel like taking an item off the sales floor, I just call and then pick up. If I want to check on how my items are doing, call, ask for a check to be cut and they will mail or you can pick it up. They could improve their business and tracking for their sellers by becoming more automated. read more

BEWARE of this place! I brought in 3 pairs of very high end Designer shoes and at the end of the expiration date they were suppose to return the shoes that didn't sell to me. I requested they return my items back to me. After numerous phone calls to a sales lady, HELEN to round up my items back to me she was so unhelpful, ignores my calls etc. very poor customer service by her. At the end they couldn't find my 2 pairs of pumps so looks like she lost my Jimmy Choo Pumps and Prada Pumps. With my sunglasses on I actually didn't realize this was a consignment shop until I went in. I saw a pair of aqua colored heels in the window. I went in and took off my glasses and unfortunately they weren't my size. I figured I'd look around though. The "couture" side had some nice things. I was not acknowledged by salesperson. The back has a lot of shoes and most looked like stuff from 20+ years ago and quite worn. The other side is pretty much the same story. A pair of just okay jeans in my size (0) and a cute dress that was way over priced. I thought most of their stuff looked and/or flawed. The people working here seem uppity which is funny! It's a used clothing store and I DON'T work there. I just have money to spend! Sticking with regular stores with new merchandise. And friendlier staff! read more

This place is amazing. The Stell and the owner to all they can to assist you with anything and everything you're looking for. In fact, the owner and staff give an awful lot back to these communities. Which is far more than I can say for some of these people with these negative reviews. If there's a negative review, I would say it was the "shopper" fault and not the location. What an awesome store! I found this place on yelp and I paid it a visit last week. If you like high-end labels then this place is for you! They have brands such as Chanel, Christian Louboutin, Louis Vuitton, Prada, etc. All the items are used consignment, it's not necessarily cheap but it's definitely a discount off the original price. Christian Louboutin Pumps ranged from $300+. There was a Chanel Flap Bag for around $3500. They have so much inventory and the place was way bigger than I thought! The store is kind of divided into two parts, one has high-end labels and the other side is more affordable brands like Marc Jacobs, Tory Burch, Coach etc. I planned on spending a lot of time there but my Aunt called me while I was shopping for an impromptu lunch so I had to cut my trip short. I did end up however walking away with a real steal! I got a For Love & Lemons camisole with tags still attached for only $12! I wish I could go back to this place but I moved to San Diego over the weekend! I'll have to visit again when I go home to see family! read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. I have sold a few things here off and on for the past 2 years but I have been embroiled in an over year-long battle with the owner over several items that were lost. I travel a lot for work so I called about 4 weeks after I dropped off some clothing to ask for all my items back. Every time I went in to collect my items, only a few were returned as they could not find all the items I brought in. After almost 6 months of asking for my items, I was finally able to sit down with the owner who somehow magically appeared with one of the dresses, but the rest were still missing. She said she would ask her staff at her other location to search for my items and if they couldn't be found, she would refund me enough to replace the items (great! This would have been fair). It has now been OVER a year and I finally went in to pick up a check. She paid me as though the items had been marked down, even though I probably requested 7-8 times for my items to be returned! How the hell are you going to profit off clothing I asked for back? She also decided to yell at me, in her store, in front of staff and customers when I told her it was unprofessional to pay me for items I requested to be returned, but were lost. I don't think it was unreasonable that I asked her to keep her word and pay me for the items that were lost. My friend, who is a prominent business owner in Lafayette, said the same thing happened to her a few years back. I should have listened to her when she said Lynn (the owner) is terrible to work with. I will NEVER do business here ever again and neither should you. read more

I am a longtime customer of Labels. I've always received adequate service when shopping there. Today, however, was an entirely different and completely unacceptable experience. I took my mother and two sisters, one of whom is visiting from out of state. We were laughing and talking and having a really good time trying on shoes and hats (two hats were purchased, at a pretty high cost, as well as a Prada bag and a pair of Prada shoes.) The store was practically empty, and honestly the saleswoman seemed REALLY put out that we were trying the hats on. Then this older saleswoman with a silver/white bob walked by us and SHUSHED US. Loudly. Then she turned around and said YES I DID JUST SHUSH YOU. THIS IS A STORE AND YOU NEED TO BE QUIET HERE. One sister stood up and told the sour saleswoman that she had just spent almost $300 in the store. And my other sister was holding a $70 hat in her hands that she was about to purchase. The saleswoman's behavior was absolutely appalling. It is simply never all right to shush a customer or chastise them for laughing in your store. Never. Last week I dropped by Labels, and there was a big group of high maintenance women in there laughing and chattering a whole lot more loudly than we were today. And ALL of the saleswomen were fawning over them. There was certainly no shushing going on, and those women were being encouraged to have a good time (and spend money). I may not be visibly high maintenance like those women, but I deserve to be treated with the same amount of respect. If the clerks at Labels can't do that for me, then Labels doesn't get any more of my money. And I'll certainly be recommending alternate consignment shops to my friends and relatives. Luxury store in name only... A friend of mine recently had the wool pulled over their eyes about left merchandise that was being sold there for them. At the time they were told their consignment items would be highly sought out and were lead into thinking from day one as such. The communication of this transaction was not even worthy of one star but I felt at least I needed to communicate how such a business is run , No phone call what so ever and to the amazement of my friend one of the items that was sold payment had not even been known to my friend, and was told that they would be called at the point of sale. Three weeks passed and one of the items sold if it wasnt for the fact my friend decided to go by there they would of not even known any items had been sold, Good business practice is too always have good communication goes without speaking obviously this business doesn't see it that way... read more

I've been to Labels over a dozen times and don't have anything good to say about the place, the merchandise or the people that work there. Considering that I am a pretty die-hard bargin shopper, this is a strange review for me to write. For a long time I managed to "bite the bullet" and visited the store whenever I was in the neighborhood. After a few disturbing experiences (and reading these Yelp reviews), I've decided to discontinue visiting Labels and just stick to Main Street Rags (across the street) and Crossroads Clothing in SF. At Labels, the shoes are terribly beat up and kept in a heap at the back of the store; they look like they've been worn for a cross-country trek by a 2-ton animal (I find it so odd that they accept them for consignment). The clothes stink and I often find myself suspecting that they belong to people that are no longer alive (creepy but true). Like MANY others have pointed out, the customer service is non-existent and I often feel scrutinized and scowled at when inside the store. I've watched women come into the store to consign their items and get turned away with snotty comments and facial expressions that signal total disrespect. I once tried on some designer jeans and discovered that the length had been drastically altered (again, odd that they would accept them). Then I tried on some Juicy sweats that had a small tear and stain near the waistband, which were priced at 50% off the retail price. NOTE: Nordstrom rack sells these brand new for less than that. I would strongly advise against visiting this store - I can practically guarantee you will have an awful experience. The women here have NO BUSINESS BEING IN BUSINESS.
