1/16/13 Update: I wrote a note to the owner sharing the experience I recounted below. This morning, I received a bouquet of flowers, a card and a personal note on my doorstep from Lyn Nice, the owner of Labels. With a heartfelt apology, she explained to me that she opened the store 15 years ago with recycling and fashion in mind, for EVERYONE from $10-$3,000, size 0 to 20. She seemed genuinely ashamed of the experience I had and invited me back to the store to consign my items with her. After the horror show I had the first time, I took the items to a donation center but I am giving them 5 stars for the classy act of taking their customers and their business seriously. I will update again if things go south. :) I'll have to agree with many prior posts on Labels. I went in there this morning to consign some items for the first time. All the items I had were purchased at Nordstrom (Savvy/Point of View) and/or Banana Republic. Upon first walking in, the experience was nice enough: the store seemed well arranged and the sales person greeted me with a smile. She took my items and asked me to look around while they had a look at them. I saw the jeans table and started to get very excited at the deals to be had. Then, a young attractive woman whom I hadn't seen before came over and told me they were ready to discuss the items I'd brought for consigning. At the front counter, she said, "We're going to pass on...actually all of the items you brought in." With surprise, I reached for the bag and said, "OK, thanks." I was feeling a little exposed having handed over a bag of my clothing to another person in the first place (this was my first time consigning ever) so I wasn't planning to argue. Then she added, "You see, they're just not high-end enough for us...our customers would NEVER buy these things." I had to hold back tears as I maneuvered myself, the bag of clothes and my daughter's stroller out the door as quickly as I could move. I have no idea why anyone would choose to say something so insulting or add an explanation when one was clearly not warranted. In fairness, I read other reviews saying that their salespeople are snooty bitches but I did not expect to be treated so rudely. I will never shop in their store again, although from the number of terrible reviews they've received and the number of people shopping in the store this morning, I doubt this review will do much to affect their business. read more

All about them labels. This is a perfect spot if you lust after designer duds but could never fathom spending full price on a Chanel jacket or Louis Vuitton bag or Marc Jacobs dress. Labels' takes the castaways from the wealthy, and offers them up at a bargain compared to regular prices (though, still not cheap). The store is organized by both brand (if you are loyal to Balenciaga, say) and style (tank tops, sweaters, etc.) I recently bought a lovely pale pink twill Eileen Fisher blazer for $60. I had to dig a bit, as some of the styles are either a little too matronly or a little too flashy. Selection is huge, but But you can find good staples by quality brands. Worth a stop if you are curating your wardrobe with long-tasting pieces. read more

If I could give this place negative stars I would, but even giving them 1 is being generous. Just to clarify, this review is based on my experiences as a SELLER (never bought here before). To be honest though, by looking at the merchandise that they accept, I probably wouldn't want to buy from here anyways. I've looked at some of the stuff they carry, and have seen some heavily damaged/worn items being sold for astronomical amounts (i.e. Jimmy Choo's with caked gum on the bottom of the sole). So if you're looking to sell some of your stuff here, DON'T DO IT unless you're ready to be robbed of your time and money. I can't even begin to explain how many things are wrong with this store's system for pricing, consigning, pulling items, and giving the money back to the seller. 1. Pricing - they tell you they price items at "1/3 of retail value," but this is a load of baloney. More like they price things at 1/6 retail, and only give you (the seller) 50% of THAT price. So basically, you get close to dirt back. 2. Pulling items - I stopped in almost 2 weeks before I collected my check, and requested that any of my remaining items for sale be pulled. I decided this because I knew that I could sell my remaining items for much more online. BUT, lo and behold, when I stopped by the store almost 2 weeks later to collect my check, they had sold one of the items already, even though I had requested that it NOT BE. So, essentially I was robbed of that item, since I knew I could sell it for more elsewhere. They apologized and said it takes "up to 3 days for items to be pulled from the system." SERIOUSLY? When was this computer "system" coded??? I feel like NO inventory system should be THAT outdated that it allows for a long enough time frame for an item that was requested to be pulled is even able to be sold. 3. Giving money to the seller - Furthermore, getting your money back from this place is like pulling teeth and nails. First off, it takes them 3-5 days to generate a dang check due to their outdated "system" (yet again). Secondly, Labels REFUSES to mail it to you! So, you have to make an additional trip out to their store (located on a busy street, hard to find parking) and collect the check in person. How lazy and archaic can you be if you can't even slap a stamp on an envelope and send a check to your sellers, WHO PROVIDE YOU MERCHANDISE/BUSINESS?? In total, I have sold one handbag, 4 pairs of shoes, and two wallets here, all name brand labels. They were ALL in impeccable condition, the handbag was even BRAND NEW with tags, original dust bag and original box. I would have sold fewer items if I had known how little I'd be getting in return, not to mention the absolute HASSLE it is to deal with this store. If you are even thinking about selling your new/used designer items here, you're better off selling on eBay, Tradesy, etc, because I can guarantee you that Labels will make you jump hurdles and hoops only to give you pennies of what you originally paid and/or what your items are worth. If you're looking to buying some discounted designer items, good luck trying to find anything modern or in-season at this museum of a store. read more

There are other similar stores that will accept returns if items don't fit. (I wanted a same day return) All sales final is an inadequate policy this day and age. Online retailers have better quality clothes, business policies and practice and customer service. It is very disappointing. read more

I've shopped vintage and consignment high and low, LA, SF, NYC, Europe and Japan, plus many points in between; so if you want to know what it's like to *literally* walk a mile in someone else's Choos, I'm your gal. Strike that. In the interest of full disclosure, I do not actually own any pre-pampered Choos - however, I have rocked an immaculate pair of tobacco leather Prada ankle boots that never fail to garner compliments. No, I didn't win the lottery, but I certainly struck gold when I wandered into Labels! By far the most posh consignment shop I've been in (Decades, LA excluded) don't even bother with any of the other places if you want something fabulous without buyer's remorse or the guilt of blowing your budget on a single item. I was on my very best shopping behavior. What I said: "Ooohhh, la-laaaa...!" What I thought: "Ooooh, child! I am going to tear this place DOWN! Is that a wall of shoes over there? Mmmm-hmmmm... LV handbags, Tiffany trinkets in the case - Hey - does this Burberry Prorsum trench want to come home with me, or WHUT?" Personally, I found the spacious scale and church-like hushed tone a little intimidating at first... The sales staff were politely deferential and didn't hover - a good thing - but they seemed at times almost aloof when I actually needed assistance getting the mate to a shoe or had a question. Labels carries a mind boggling selection of high end designer and couture apparel, along with accessories (shoes, handbags*, jewelry and leather goods) that are well organized and fastidiously maintained. * I don't know who didn't get the memo, but the one glaring exception to this chic shop was the presence of Juicy Couture handbags. That's crap, not couture. A pox upon you! I closed the place down after spending 4+ hours shopping but wanted a second opinion on some of my choices. I consulted a sales associate, who assured me that they would hold everything for me until the next day when I could resume my re-retail therapy. I was starving, and I was assured that all of my items would be set aside with my name, so no worries. I left for dinner with a full fashion high. The next day, I returned and was devastated to learn that my carefully culled selections had mysteriously been designated go-backs and EVERYTHING had been returned to the the floor. Inventory is merchandised by size, with plenty of space - not hodgepodge and crowded on too-small racks. Still, I tried not to panic. I think that only 2 pairs of shoes were recovered, and I was crushed. No pink floral Burberry trench for me. Lesson learned. I cursed and I cried... And then I dried my tears and hit the racks again. At the end of my adventure, I went home with: * Jade green Vera Wang sunglasses * Hudson Jeans - NWT * Ralph Lauren Black Label Cashmere Dress w/ leather buckle detail - NWT * Tobacco brown Prada Ankle Boots * Chocolate brown Lanvin Boots * Gorgeous, graphic, Spring-weight rain coat * Dolce Gabbana round toed, floral pumps w/ stacked wooden heel Oh! I just found: * PRISTINE persimmon Ferragamo driving mods with zero wear (lick) * KORS patent loafers in Hunter Green: so comfy and weekend perfect. I actually don't own lots of clothes. I do own a crap-ton of accessories. But honey, I know how to make my wardrobe WERK for me! It's great to find places that are very discriminating about the caliber and quality of items they will accept on consignment, and Labels gets 5 stars from me. Not sure why other Yelpers have been so conservative with their accolades; maybe to deter others from getting the good stuff first...? The Lanvin boots were about $200 - if that. I think they were actually 20% less; red sticker was 50% off and yellow meant 20% discount... I believe half of the shoes I bought bore stickers. I looked online and found a similar pair on super-sale for $890 (originally $1450) so I was feeling pretty good. Then I remembered the pair of Jimmy Choo boots that I bought at their boutique store for $1750 and have worn like, twice. *Gnashing of teeth; rending of garments* Oh, well. During the 2 years I've been in Walnut Creek, I've passed this place many times, but never stepped foot in there. I had some time in in my hands and stopped in today to see what was on the $5 and $10 rack. Not sure of their version of "designer" but these clothes were no better than what's on the clearance racks at Macy's or Nordstrom. Oh and the Coach bags-they are styles from the Coach outlet and they had the nerve to still be charging $150 or more for them. But, whatever, consignment shops are hit or miss. There is one reason and one reason alone I will never buy anything or ever step foot in here again. The people who work here. Just rude, miserable people. I walked in and as I passed the girl at the register, she looked directly at me, I said "hello" and she 100% completely ignored me and rolled her eyes. So there you have it. I have found the prices of NEW jeans from Nordstrom Rack to compare favorably with USED jeans from Labels. I found a pair of new (though altered) Joe's Jeans w/ the tags still atached. Score! Or so I thought. The zipper was broken, and they were still more expensive than a new pair of Joe's Jeans at Nords Rack. The nature of this kind of store is that the merchandise comes and goes. No shopping luck today. I'll keep stopping in when I'm in the area, as you never know when that shopping luck will change. read more

I'm not very fashion-savvy, but I do like this store. I always find things here that I like, and I almost always end up buying something. On my last visit, the owners were getting ready to unveil their newly aquired spot next door (formerly Foot Candy). The shop is now about twice the original size, and the new area is sparsely decorated with their highest-end handbags and other items. It looks a bit like a museum, really. There were $1500 used purses and Luis Vuitton suitcases (I didn't even want to look at the prices of those!). Not everything is in the stratospheric price range, however. Bargains are rare, but they do exist. Items at Labels range from the casual to the ultra chic, from youthful to stuffy. I've never tried to bring in any items for consignment, but I doubt they'd want any of my castoffs! read more

Was here yesterday and bought 3 mk purse that are in super duper good condition almost brand new ! Love it! Was so happy w my purchase everything is perfect until I opened inside and the dust bag that was inside it when I took it to the counter was gone! All of the 3 purses I purchase , they took all the dust bag that was inside. What happened cashier? Aren't they part of the purchase? please reach out to me I have my receipt to show you . I remember visiting Labels at their old location, years upon years ago. It was definitely a staple for my family. I remember my mom finding some great deals. But just a few weeks ago, I visited again, this time as an adult and at their newer location. I've experienced better consignment shops. I did consign some of my upscale pieces and staff seemed appreciative that I had high-end fashion to offer. However, when one of my pieces had a slight smudge (it was a designer plastic) the employee tossed it to the side like it was garbage, commenting that they "couldn't possibly accept it"... which is odd, because I had another one that they accepted 2 seconds later, only in a different color! When I walked out of the store, I was able to remove the smudge with my finger. I've consigned many other places without such rigid guidelines, but I do understand standards. If those are their standards, that's up to them. But there's absolutely no reason to treat me rudely and toss my property aside like junk. read more

So, the first time I went here, I wasn't really impressed. Even with the things being marked down, I couldn't really afford anything.. also, a lot of the clothes seemed like they came out of a closet of a 55+ year old woman. BUT my second trip was a success! I walked in with my cousin (since this was her favorite store) and thought to myself "lets try this again"...as I was going through the racks, my cousin walked by me and said "I see the sale rack". At the sale rack I found a pair of jeans with the tags still on it for $130 (which I got for $10), a cashmere sweater for $10 AND a black blazer for $20! This was definitely a great find. Who hates the economy nowadays? Stupid Jeans still run for more than a bill. Yikes! Since there's no Nordy Rack to go to in CoCo County, I've found my home @ labels. Yeah they're used. . but who the hell cares? I'd totally sacrifice good usable vs spening more than I should on clothes. They've got plenty of other designer brands organized by brand names. The past times I've shopped, they've had some pretty good sales. If you're a frugal fashionista and don't mind the worn and fashionably torn, then this place is for you. read more

Don't waste your time or money. No service what so ever, the employees were on their phones or talking to each other. I found a Prada shoe I liked that was missing the Pr. When I asked if they were willing to lower the price (since it was marked $89), the lady scoffed at me and said we take damage into account in our pricing. So an "ADA" shoe is $89?! The shoe tag also said it had been sitting there since March 2017. Damages merchandise and bad service? Ew, no thanks. read more

En route to all the Walnut Creek Anchors (Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Macy's .....), I discovered Labels and my new "hero/personal shopper", Shellie. The first dress I tried was perfect for a special event next weekend AND it was below my budget ! At my request, Shellie skillfully inventoried the entire store in search of shoes and accessories. Thank you , thank you, thank you ! I departed with THE dress and an equally gorgeous pair of Dolce & Gabbana heels ! The grand finale was when she suggested reconsigning them after my occasion !! I have been to this store twice (Fiance gets hair cut at DiMaggios) Anyway - the first time I went in I was just looking around and found a gorgeous brand new brighton bag for $30! Unbelievable! I snagged it and get compliments on it all the time (I am a huge brighton fan and buy the crack retail - so it was totally awesome to find it for about 15% of what I normally feel fine spending! Fast forward a year - I am again in the area with fiance and bummed about a dress that I am supposed to wear to a gala the same evening. So while fiance is getting a trim I pop in to labels. To my delight I find not one but TWO Vera Wong party dresses brand new in my size for 75 bucks each! Slam dunk. I was the hottie at the party and felt like a fairy princess. Oh and not sure why people would think this place is for old farts? they have stuff for women from 20 on. Plus the gals there are super nice. yeah is is pricier than other places - hell where do you find Prada and Chanel at crossroads? Come ON! 900 for a prada coat with a mink collar is nothin' honey - that coat new (last year) sold for more than 5 k I guarantee! read more

I was totally expecting bad service based on the reviews but everyone seemed to be pretty nice and helpful. Perhaps it was because I went on a Monday in the morning and avoided the crowd. Labels has a great selection of high end purses such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, etc. I would probably just buy accessories, purses, jewelry, and maybe jackets here. This place is where the fashionistas and wealthy drop off their unwanted goods. I made a purchase and am very happy with it. They even took my name down in case a Louis Vuitton wallet comes in. I plan on shopping here again. If I get bad service in the future, I'll write another review. For the most part, I had a very good experience. read more

This is the best in consignment because it feels classy and the price is right! You can find high-end designers at labels such as: Chanel, Burberry and D&G everyday. The clothes are in excellent condition because this store has high standards. I have personally made many purchases at this store including: a Lauren by Ralph Lauren leather skirt, a pair of Stuart Weitzman flats and a Tahari jacket - at reasonable prices. Who thought a teacher could afford designer? More consignment stores should be like Labels. read more

I've frequented this street of shops for the last 20+ years of my life and this was the first time i ever took notice of Labels. What caught my eye was a sign in their window that said something about being voted best designer store. Definitely peaked my curiousity. Some of their stuff is definitely designer, but i do question the authenticity of other items. A lot of their stuff looks moth eaten and wayyyy too pricey. I'd rather pay full price for brand new items. This is a shop visit on a rainy day...I'm sure folks will definitely find some awesome items for cheap. you really have to dig though - it's like a high end ross. read more

Walked in there today, completely ignored and never once acknowledged even when I was standing in front them looking at the Chanel bags. Labels is great shopping, friendly sales people and fair pricing for luxury goods. I've bought many expensive accessories in the last few years. Only peeve, why have a wish list if you never call when something comes in? However, that has changed! Jeremy knows how to take care of customers, bring them in and go out with smiling faces. All the sales staff are wonderful, answer questions by phone....which I appreciate since I have to travel there. Five stars for Labels and Jeremy. Labels makes luxury affordable for working girls! Umm, hello affordable designer products? I loveee their $5-$10 racks. Just go in once or twice a month when there's probably some new stuff in their stores and you'll find a STEAL. Originally $200-300 jeans are sold here for $50-100. I'm still not really into buying a single top for over $50 but for those of you who don't mind, I'm pretty sure I've seen a lot of high-end brand tops for around that much. The place has that musty vintage appeal to it. It's definitely going to be a regular stop for me all year round. read more

This store is the ultimate thrift shop! Well, that might actually be because almost everything is on consignment, so all of the clothes are the best labels and quality. I have never seen so many high quality, current, designer labels in one place before! Some items are expensive, but not too bad considering the retail prices. I found Manolo Blahniks for $50 once, but they usually cost around $150. I also found the perfect Valentino blazer, very professional, for only $100! It retails for around $1600. I have purchased a variety of Tory Burch, Armani, Francesco Biasia, Gucci, and Coach there too. The selection of handbags is unreal. They separate clothing by designers, which I really appreciate. It makes it much easier to shop. Each designer is clearly labeled with a sign above the rack. Usually you would expect the staff of such a high-end boutique to be snobby, but that couldn't be further from the truth. They are the nicest, most helpful staff I have ever met. I am new to the area, and they knew who I was after only one visit. They always are quick to greet, very attentive when you need help, and seem to know exactly what you need. I LOVE this store. I'm glad I don't work in Walnut Creek, or they would likely take my entire paycheck! read more

I visited the store on a beautiful Friday morning and waited...waited...waited for it to open. The employee unlocked the front door at almost twelve minutes after the posted opening time of eleven. When I asked if anyone inside had an iPhone or other time-telling device, her only response to the line of shoppers was "I'm aware." No apology or explanation. A comical moment was when I was waiting in line to pay for my purchases, she shared with the three customers ahead of me that "...there was this woman who bitched at me when I opened the store today..." I claimed the moment, "It was me!" and apologized if she thought being held accountable was being bitched at. So much opportunity for improvement here! I prefer the other four consignment stores in walking distance from Labels: Main St. Rags, Consignment Couture, Thred Up and Threads. read more

Love Labels- great place to find high-end vintage items as well as last years in demand items for a cheap price. Some things are over priced (they let the seller set the price) but items are only allowed 3 months on the shelf before being returned to seller so it's important to stop in often to see new items. Love that they expanded and have shoes and purses in the new store. Limited selection on shoes- great for clothes, jewelry and accessories. read more

My friend and I were having coffee along Main Street & passed by this store (the SALE sign caught our eye). This was my first time to Labels, and I don't frequent too many designer consignment stores (not too many in the South Bay). I was pleasantly surprised with all the brand named items (Prada, Gucci, LV, etc)... used of course, but at a discounted price. I did find a CUTE Nanette Lepore cardigan top for $38 bucks (with 20% off) ! SCORE! The sales staff was friendly & helpful. I don't think the owner was there (I overheard a sales girl tell a customer, the owner had to view her items before accepting them for consignment). Consignment stores are a hit or miss. Its has some great designer items, so I would visit again! read more

Great brands, affortable prices. I think most people go into a vintage shop and think that they are going to pay dirt cheap prices for very high quality brands. At a place like this they have well kept clothing for a very reasonable price if you compare it to how much you would pay for it at a department store. For example I bought some Gucci pants for $88 and a small Dior clutch for $50, that is amazing compared to what I would spend at Saks or even the Outlets. Rude employees the store had only 3 customers including me and 3 employees. They catered to the older lady and a gentleman and completely ignored me and did not even bother to greet me I don't know if it's because I'm younger or what but that was unacceptable and I was pretty appalled at that behavior. I had cash to spend and they completely blew me off as if I wasn't even there, while catering to an older woman and a man that was shopping. My mom goes here and spends money here but after this experience she will be taking her business elsewhere. I have been coming here since Lynn first opened her shop. I must say that the products have gone considerably upscale and the new shop is very elegant. The service however is not great. If you are the kind of shopper that knows what they want or does not like to be bothered then fine. They lost my consignment and instead of helping me find it they say go and find it yourself. Like really, you lost my belongings and Instead of helping me find it you tell me to go to try to find it. Speaking for someone who is moved by the beauty of the textile and the artistry of the cut, LABELS is a cut above the rest! So many couture pieces and so little time! I always find vintage perfection or little, over-looked designer finds..sure, you have the requisite fab bag find; however, for me, it's the Blush Blumarine off-shoulder sweater with the dyed-to-match mink trim-sorry girls, it's taken! After discovering Labels at least 12 yrs. ago, shopping for me has become a treasure hunt with bragging rights! I highly recommend you share the fun! read more

I have been a customer and consigned here for years. I cannot say enough about the excellent customer service and kindness given by all of the staff. A special thank you to Victoria, who is always kind, patient and very knowledgeable. She really takes customer service to a whole new level. The merchandise is always well presented and the store is immaculate . Lynn, the owner is always friendly and works hard to establish personal relationships with the clientele.
