I ordered a shot of Tito's, but what I was served did not taste or smell like Tito's at all. I've been drinking Tito's for years, so I'm very familiar with its flavor profile. The shot I received had a harsh, foul, and unusually pungent smell and tasted completely different from what I expected. I can't say with certainty what it was, but I left genuinely believing I was not served the brand I ordered. If you're charging customers for branded liquor, they should receive exactly what they paid for. This experience left me questioning the integrity of the bar, and it seriously damaged my trust. Every time I go to Lab, I have such a great time! Ana is my favorite bartender. I recommend the Queen of Hearts cocktail.

Music is good and I always appreciate the DJs, but the space is very small for the amount of people they allow into the bar, and the bathroom is always disgusting. I'm mostly writing about an incident I had in February of last year with one of the security guards. I'm not sure what his name was, but he was very tall, slender, and wore a beanie. He let some minors (under 21) immediately in before us without checking their IDs (we knew because one of them was literally celebrating his 20th birthday), but stopped my friend and me because we were short and looked young to check ours. We didn't mind since we were definitely over 21, but he flipped our IDs around and scanned them more than 5 times, basically assuming they were fake. After that long, dreaded interaction, we were hesitantly let in. Once inside, our group got a table. He came over to the table and started talking to one of the guys in the group, pointing at me and laughing while saying something shady (which I couldn't hear with the music playing). He was also standing near our section by the window the entire time giving me the dirty eye. There was a girl in the section (a friend of a friend) who was playing around with the blinds and looking outside for a while, which he ignored. However, when I saw someone in line that I knew, I looked out the blinds to wave "hi," and immediately, like a hawk, he ran over and aggressively yelled "STOP!!!" at me and tapped me on the shoulder with brute force. Overall, terrible experience. I never saw the dude again, but if he still works here, he definitely should be fired. read more

Without a doubt, Lab is my favorite bar in DTSJ. The staff, especially the bartender, Shawnica, is very welcoming and always takes great care of me and my group. They have a very unique and delicious signature cocktail menu here. However, I highly recommend getting bottle service here as it ends up being more cost effective than just ordering at the bar and you get your own space. This place is always busy and the line usually wraps around the building, so be sure to get here before 10pm to avoid the line. read more

I came in with my friends for a last night of bars since they're moving back home to Washington next week for work. Line wasn't the worst, it was a weekend night around midnight so it was expected to be long, but they were moving pretty quickly without much hassle. Got inside around 1215. Inside was packed with EDM playing and good energy from the crowd. Tables were packed, bathroom had a line and the bar was filled too. Made our way to the bar to get some drinks to start off since we didn't get to pregame much. The counters were packed, so I'm surprised how fast I was able to make it to the front to order my drinks. Bartenders were quite fast, seeing them all running about back and forth each one juggling about three guests normally. My bartender greeted me rather quickly, getting me and my friends started off for the night with some Henny shots & Pineapple, a personal favorite. She was able to knock them out quickly while also taking the order of another person next to me without making it seem like I was a problem for being there, so very friendly compared to other bars I've been to in DTSJ. We were able to keep the drinks flowing, can't comment too much since I had a few drinks but it was definitely a great night. Overall rating: 5/5 Great service, good vibes for a Saturday night, fast lines. Not the biggest bar, but plenty of new faces there every night. read more

Good cocktails and music! Everything else? Not so good! I came to Labyrinth to celebrate my birthday, and I can confidently say it was an unforgettable experience. I would highly recommend coming before 10 pm for happy hour, as they do 50% off cocktails as long as you order a food item. I got the Black Samurai, and it was amazing. Once the club started, things started going downhill. I was told my table reservation got cancelled because I didn't order bottle service right away (for context, I told the servers I wanted to wait until my whole party arrived, and they didn't mention any issue with it). The server ended up apologizing for the mistake, but that left me and all my friends in the middle of an overly packed club. The crowd control was terrible. The entirety of Labyrinth was practically a massive mosh pit; it was hard to move, let alone dance, since everyone was squished together. We ended up leaving early because it got so chaotic and uncomfortable, even my friend had hearing loss concerns due to the loud music. I debated giving this place a one-star review, but I will refrain since I still had a memorable birthday. Despite the circumstance, my friends and I still had fun trying cocktails and grooving to the music. After all, Labyrinth is the top clubbing spot in the South Bay, I'd still recommend it. We reserved a table for my sister's birthday. One of the security guards was doing way too much and killed our vibe. Kicked out one of our friends within like 20 minutes of us getting there??? Also, after our friend got kicked out, the security guard was threatening him by saying "everyone here is my family" trying to intimidate us and threatening us. Even after our friend was kicked out, our group stopped talking but the security guard kept instigating and continued to talk to us. The black security guard with dreads was doing the absolute most. He spoke to multiple people in our group saying we were doing too much.... Like what do u want us to do? Be reverent at the club... ?!!! Seemed like security guy kept threatening to beat everyone up and even took off his jacket. He used physical force to push multiple girls in our group because they were... dancing???? He called them "bitches". He also pushed one of the guys in our group accusing him of spilling water everywhere, when our friend was completely sober and didn't do anything. The guy in our group who spilled water was extremely drunk and we kept telling him to chill and even moved the water away from him as a preventative measure. But he did NOT need to physically push our friend who didn't do anything at all. As a security guard, you shouldn't let emotions dictate your actions. You're supposed to promote safety not risk it. Otherwise, it would've been a fun experience if security didn't ruin it. The workers/bottle girls were very nice and attentive. The ONLY problem was the security guard. read more

Labyrinth Bar is such a great place to start your night if you're older and want a place to chill. If you get here before 10pm, usually I'd go at 8:30-9pm, you get half priced drinks if you order an appetizer/side like the truffle fries! The drinks are about $15 on average, so you're getting drinks for $7.50 which means you can get 3 drinks for under $25. Plus the appetizers are actually quite good. One note, the music slowly gets louder and louder every 20 minutes starting at 8:45, so by 9:45 the music is blasting lol. read more

Came to The Labyrinth Bar after the Fisher block party to keep the energy going, but the experience fell short. The place wasn't even at half capacity. I stepped outside for some fresh air, and when I tried to return, the doorman refused to let me back in--despite being with my group, who were sitting right inside at the first table. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism and common sense, the staff reflects poorly on the entire brand. This could've been an easy, positive night. Instead, it left a bad impression. I don't expect special treatment, just basic respect and reasonable service. Unfortunately, that wasn't delivered. As someone who values a good atmosphere and fair treatment, I'll be taking my business elsewhere--and I'd encourage others to do the same until The Labyrinth decides to hold itself to a higher standard. read more

My sister and I stopped by Labyrinth Bar & Kitchen on a Saturday night around 8:30pm. Although I've never been to the bar before, I was made aware by the bouncer that we came at a good time to grab a few drinks before the dance club kicked in. Labyrinth was a cute and trendy bar. Despite not having a DJ at the time we arrived, they had a great hip hop playlist on rotation that we easily vibed with. We had the convenience of having one bartender assist us since the place wasn't busy at all. She was efficient and made our drinks in a timely manner. I ordered a couple of cocktails including the "Queen of Hearts" and "Black Samurai." Queen of Hearts was a sweet and fruity gin drink. Black Sumurai, on the other hand, was quite interesting. Who knew that activated charcoal cocktails were now a thing? Detox before getting intox... I guess?! Black samurai had sake and lychee flavors that I could taste predominantly. This cocktail came frozen though, which didn't make it the easiest drink especially with their biodegradable/paper straws. I would recommend asking the bartender to get this drink blended well into a slushie consistency prior to consumption. read more

I have never tried their food here, so I cannot judge that. I've always been here after their kitchen has closed just for drinks and music. Around the early evenings, this place is chill - definitely a vibe for starting out the night. Around the late evenings is where it can be very packed. Lines would always form outside. In order to get a drink at the bar, you'll really have to squeeze through people. Most seats are reserved. These are very typical for a popular bar, but it's packed for many good reasons. The music is great - people are always dancing, almost as if the place is an actual club. One of my favorite drinks here is the Black Samurai which is a lychee-flavored cocktail. It is so good! Despite being really chaotic, the bartenders are very friendly and always have a smile on their faces. This place is quite small, so it does get packed really fast. The line is always long to get into here, so my friends and I decided to come at 9:30 PM to beat the rush on a Friday! Keep in mind, they only bring out the photobooth when the bar gets crowded... so don't expect it to be out all the time. The bar has really chill and aesthetic vibes. Labyrinth had been on my list for a while, and I finally got to visit for date night on Saturday evening. My boyfriend and I showed up around 7:15 and found the place nearly empty - only one party there besides us. Our friendly server/bartender immediately greeted us and gave us our menus, and we picked a cozy table near the window. I really liked the decor here - great looking bar, instagrammable neon sign, creative lighting fixtures, etc. To our surprise, the kitchen was closed (we were planning to grab dinner), but we decided to stay for a round of drinks, since it was happy hour. The happy hour here was actually fantastic, since all cocktails are half priced. I ordered a Queen of Hearts (not bad, but a little sweeter than I expected) and my boyfriend chose the Black Samurai. I can't say enough about this cocktail! First off, the presentation is awesome - a black frozen drink with a whole lychee and gold flakes on top. I was getting messages all night asking what we were drinking/where we were. But on top of that, it's also delicious - a unique combination of sake, lychee, ginger, and activated charcoal. Our server recommended that we visit on a Friday next time, when the kitchen is typically open. She was also gave us a ton of dinner recommendations for after, including Nomikai, where we ended up going. So nice! Came here on a Friday night for some drinks around 10:30 PM. It wasn't too crowded, as we were able to find some seats around the bar. A lot more people came after and when we left around 11:30 PM, there was a line outside to get in. My party got a Black Samurai ($13) and a Frose ($14). The Black Samurai was absolutely amazing. The lychee taste made it taste like the drink was non-alcoholic, and we really enjoyed this drink. The gold flakes on top were also a cute addition. The Frose just tasted like rose, which I'm not surprised about since it is the main ingredient. It was a bit stronger than I expected, but as someone who likes rose, I still enjoyed the drink (it also was garnished with a strawberry). Both drinks had an interesting, slushee texture, which made it feel like I was drinking a smoothie. The Black Samurai was definitely the clear winner for me though. I'd love to come back and try some of their other cocktails, since they all sounded really interesting and unique. Ambiance-wise, there was a DJ playing, and so the music was quite loud, similar to a club. If you have a big group, it might be hard to talk to each other without yelling, but for a party of 2, it's bearable. My friend and I made reservations to have some drinks here on a Friday evening. When we checked in, there was a little wait before we got sat at our table. My friend and I each got 3 drinks. I started my night off with the Black Samurai which is a frozen sake lychee cocktail. It was pretty good and refreshing I would say. My second drink was the Queen of Hearts which was a gin cocktail with strawberry syrup and elderflower liquor. I enjoyed the sweetness from the strawberry syrup. I don't recall the name of my third drink, but it was whiskey based. Nothing too memorable about it. We also ordered some fries to enjoy with our drinks. The fries were hot and tasty; a good complement to snack on as we had our drinks. While my drinks were tasty, my friend and I both left feeling pretty normal. After 3 cocktails each, I would expect both of us to feel pretty buzzed, so I am curious about how much alcohol I actually had. Maybe we were here on an off day. TL;DR - Tasty cocktails with less alcohol in them than expected. I'd come back in the future to see if this was a consistent case. read more

I mean, who doesn't love a good, cushy, wicker lounge chair, amirite?? Add the magic of some outdoor string lights and helloooo cutie, let's get cozy! But hey, a girl can't live on just cushions and cocktails, I need some food, gosh darnit! Well, demand and ye shall receive (jk I read yelp reviews that said their menu has been great as of late so here I am). Someone told me they started collaborating with Minos which explains the super delicious, elevated food. Can't wait to go back to pig out some more. I don't think my alcohol tolerance is particularly high, usually 2 cocktails gives me a good buzz but I'm pretty disappointed I didn't feel any buzz after 3 drinks. Glad I got to have a night out on the town before everything closed back up. My friends had made a reservation here which was great because we were able to book two tables, all while during happy hour. I probably wouldn't have bought food if the HH menu wasn't 30% off. Their prices are already taxinnn and they make you wait quite a while before getting your food to the table. You also have to opportunity to buy bottles, but that too is really expensive (it's probably a lot cheaper to get drinks at one of the other nearby bars). The staff was super strict about only have 6 people at a table, which was honestly just a little weird to me considering seating was outdoor, and tables were already really far spread out. However, they were super nice about reminding us, and every time we had a request such as getting us more chase, napkins, or utensils, they fulfilled it. I'm giving Lab 4 stars because the garlic prawn noodles were absolutely delicious, plus being able to socialize and casually drink while listening to good music made me nostalgic of pre-COVID times. Now that I've had a little taste of being able to eat and drink outside my house with others, I probably will wait to come back when things with the pandemic have gotten better. read more

Bar Hopping in SJ with this place FIRST on the roster! It is super cute inside. Beautifully lit, aesthetic decor, the nicest bartenders, and good music playing. My friend's brother was DJ'ing the night I went without me knowing! Ofc we only shoot henny or tequila - the bartenders were super generous with the shots and amount of limes given. We came pretty early in the night and went to different bars after, but by 10pm-ish when we tried to come back here (We all decided this was our favorite bar out of the ones we visited and that we would come back), the line was ridiculously long to get into. I gotta say, I freakin LOVE Lab! I've had so many celebrations here.. my bday, my husband's cancer-versary party, our baby shower.. YOU NAME IT, we've done it here. It's a great venue for a private get together and the owner is the nicest! He's very reasonable and is always willing to work with you to accommodate whatever you may need to make your event more special. I've also been here late night when it gets a little ratchet (in a good way of course LOL). The drinks at the bar are dangerously yummy and the bottle service is top notched. Loud music, strong drinks, and pretty girls.. what more do you want? Highly recommend getting bottle service cuz this place gets PACKEDDDD.
