The food was great! I had a delicious chicken and bacon taco and a poblano pepper cheesy soup. The salsa tastes great. My sister in law loved the lobster quesadilla. The only down side is it can be hard to find parking. I see why there are so many bike rental places in the area. read more

This place deserves more than 3.5 stars. The chips are amazing, super thin with just the right amount of oiliness. And they keep them coming. It was terrible service, the waiter never came to give us refills and we tried to tell them what was wrong with the bill and they wouldn't listen! It took about an hour to an hour and thirty minutes. They charged us for an extra queso we didn't order. They even tried to say I ordered two drinks when I only ordered one. Everything was very overpriced. There were people screaming and the employees didn't seem to care. I will probably never come back. If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would. read more

Mediocre food, cafeteria feel inside, restaurant appears to be focused on tourist turn over versus memorable experience. On a recent trip to 30a my family and I were excited to try La Cocina, as we are fans of Mexican food and thought it would be an excellent pairing with the beach environment. Sadly, La Cocina was unable to deliver on even the most basic premises of Mexican food. Stale chips, watery guacamole, the kids wouldn't even eat "Chef Ben's" Mac and Cheese. Probably the worst offender we had was the $18 Chile Relleno, listed as a favorite on the menu. What came out of the kitchen was a limp poblano pepper about the size of a deck of cards, stuffed with a sugary beef concoction that looked like cat food, or at best Taco Bell. It was topped off with a sweet creme fraiche, and strawberries?? Completely unappetizing. The rice and beans had been pre-plated for at least an hour, and adding to the stingy portion size was a iridescent sheen covering everything, implying a long stay under a heat lamp. This restaurant is owned by the same group who owns George's and Seagrove Village Market - so we were expecting at least a decent experience. Sadly, it seems their business formula is no longer focused on memorable, beach dining experiences - but grabbing a quick buck from the tourists who come once. That night our family all experienced gastro intestinal distress, while we can't definitively say it was our dinner, it was the last thing we all ate... The drinks were the only saving grace- the Jalepeno margarita was very tasty. How hard is it to mess up traditional tex-mex style Mexican? La Cocina would of been better off sticking to the basics, rather than trying to reinvent already good dishes. Whipped Creme on a Chile Relleno anyone? read more

We ordered a small guacamole and we couldn't finish it. It looked good, color was bright green etc but the taste was way off. Carnitas Tacos were decent. Salsa was good. One star is generous for the experience we had tonight. We have been coming to 30a for almost 20 years and this was by far our worst experience at any establishment to date. The wait was over an hour, but that's not surprising given it is high season. The strawberry basil margarita while we waited was the highlight, then the rest of the night went downhill. The acoustics are awful. Really. One member of our party had to leave because they got a migraine. It's like being at a concert where you have to shout to be heard - and we were sitting at a 4 top. We waited a long time for a server, then waited for water another 10 minutes for water. When we ordered our drinks, one margarita never came. After asking twice it finally arrived after the food. Yes, we were charged for it nonetheless. The menu is limited which would allow for maintaining quality. But, the food was NOT good. The fajitas were a kind of stewed meat, not grilled. The steak fajitas were gray and the chicken an over cooked yellow. Honestly, these were worse than fajitas on a buffet. This restaurant is owned by the same group that owns George's. We had a lovely dinner at George's years ago, but subsequent visits over the years have been worse each time. We finally quit going there a few years ago due to poor service and swarms of flies over our food. We have given this family of restaurants the benefit of the doubt for several years. However, this is clearly a management issue with this line of restaurants. We will not be going back to this or any other restaurant they own. read more

Had dinner on Sunday, November 1st, 2020 at 7:30 PM, it was our first time dining here and we ordered the Seacrest Ceviche, Salmon Tiradito, chips, salsa and guacamole. A few hours later, my wife and I felt sick to our stomachs and she threw up everything she had and said her hand felt tingly and numb (like when it falls asleep). I am so disappointed to even be writing this but yet here I am. I have loved going here while on vacation with my family, but apparently there is a new owner which we did not know about. We went at 4:30 to eat early and enjoy the night together and found out that you cannot be served until 5. Not only that but we couldn't put our names down and the staff was extremely rude. After waiting we tried to get a table and were ignored by the staff after waiting 30 min. After sitting down we then found out there is no chips and salsa with the food. A MEXICAN restaurant with no complimentary chips and salsa which is crazy. Again I hate to be writing this but after poor servers and just being fed up with the place we left. Extremely disappointed!!! We have been coming to Rosemary for 5 years sometimes 2 and 3 times a year and have ALWAYS come and loved La Cocina. It was a necessity!!! The cool Mexican atmosphere and delicious food kept us coming back for more. Now that we have seen what they did to the inside, it has ruined the whole experience! The food wasn't even good to make me forgive the decor change. The entire fun vibe is GONE! Totally heartbreaking. Shrimp and chicken Fajitas were served on a plate, not even warm and no sizzling skillet like at EVERY OTHER MEXICAN PLACE! Mediocre at best. Cold tortillas served in rolled paper. Not worth asking for manager because they can't change that! That's the owners making those standards. All the beautiful solid wood tables and chairs have been replaced by mainstream metal ones. The once colorful decor and scenery that hung from walls are now blank and boring. So sad to see! Unfortunate for Seacrest because there was nothing better than listening to the band while waiting for our table at La Cocina. We will have to find another hot spot! :( read more
