I'm almost hesitant to write this review, because I'm afraid of too many people finding out about this hidden gem! Lady Blue has saved me twice now, when needing to grab dinner before a Broadway show. Yesterday (Sat) we got last minute tickets to an 8pm show and had to quickly find a place for dinner. Many of the spots in the Theater District were already booked from 5:30-7:30. Some were just way overpriced. I had been to Lady Blue before and liked it, and they had 6pm availability. When we arrived, it was lively but not unbearably crowded. The place is small with a few booths, but surprisingly the hostess brought the two of us to a full booth. It felt nice and luxurious! And we did not have to wait or fight for the table at all. Our waitress was very attentive, checking on us multiple times. As others have mentioned, this place is much more than a cocktail bar - they serve a wide variety of American food (flatbreads, burgers/sandwiches, entrees) - however the cocktails are fun and interesting too. My friend got the Magic Mermaid and I got the Chai Fashioned cocktail. Hers was so fun - blue in a fishbowl looking glass with a tail fin sticking out. Mine was a unique take on the typical Old Fashioned filled with spices. Next we got bacon-wrapped dates to start - absolutely delicious. Perfect mix of sweet and savory flavors of bacon, blue cheese, and date. For mains, we both got the Lady B Burger, which was a step up from the regular burger - we were able to order as we liked it (I got the bacon on the side). It also comes with a salad but you can pay extra for fries or tots. I got truffle fries, which hit the spot. The atmosphere was fun and relaxed - the music was kind of a remix of 70s hits and newer stuff. We were able to eat at comfortable pace, pay, and leave with plenty of time before our show. I had their version of the lemon drop as well as another cocktail not on happy hour, one of their many espresso martinis. Both were just "meh" Also had the meatballs (also on happy hour) and while they were tasty, they were cold. Which surprised me because they came in a cast iron skillet. Really happy that we decided to go here for a casual birthday dinner for my sister! Planned on getting desserts at Spot so skipped those here. Ordered: Goat Cheese and Veggie flatbread + Salmon bowl w/ polenta and roasted veggies + Shutter Up + Pink Dragon cocktails. The flatbread and Shutter Up were some of the best I've had of each. The cocktail was truly perfect! I always go for the tequila/spicy/sweet/fruity combo and they did not disappoint. Had to get 2. Sis loved her salmon entree. Portion was generous, too. Came here for brunch before a show and the food was delicious. You can tell they use a lot of butter but they only made things better personally. The eggs in the BEC muffin was soft and tasty and the "spicy" jam sauce added to it. However it wasn't spicy at all. My mother really enjoyed the burger. My friends and I stopped by Lady Blue's for a Sunday brunch before seeing Six on Broadway. When we walked in it had such a cool vibe to it. Almost like an art deco type decor and we were here for it. My friends and I were seated in one of the booths. It was very comfy. We all decided to do the bottomless mimosas with our brunch entree. The bartender came by to explain that it was for an hour and they have a strict policy about that. Totally understand! We each had three mimosas. If you have two, you've saved money, so go for it! Also, the bartender was very on top of refilling our drink. Just before the hour was up, she came by with three new glasses to make sure we were able to fit in another round. That was so nice! The food was pretty good. The frosted flake french toast squares that we had for an appetizer was the standout. It was soooooo good. I wish I ordered multiple orders! This is a late post. I went to this venue for a birthday celebration on a Tuesday afterwork. I got out of the car, and I did walk past the restaurant. The interior of the restaurant is nicely decorated. It is a venue that keeps the lighting low. On Tuesday they had a Teeny Tinis Tuesdays special where classic and specialty martinis were on special. I tried the Pornstar martini, and it was delicious. To eat I had the Steak Frites and the roasted cauliflower. The cauliflower wasn't good because the chimichurri sauce made the cauliflower soggy. The Steak Frites was delicious. Overall, I had a great time and would definitely return to try some other drink specials and food. read more

Endless mimosas for $28 hit just right, although I wasn't impressed to know that the champagne served were $5 bottles. However, the overall brunch experience made up for this little knowledge. I got a group together for dinner in the area but the restaurant we chose was still waiting to get their liquor license, so as soon as we finished our meal we booked it to the closest highly rated cocktail bar and found ourselves at Lady Blue. They're a full service restaurant and was definitely giving more restaurant energy than cocktail bar energy which had me worried but once the drinks came out my concerns melted away. Every subsequent drink had me oohing and ahhing at the beautiful presentation. The Pink Dragon is good for mezcal lovers-- dragonfruit is the main flavor profile but it also has habanero in it, which provides a nice kick to complement the smokiness of the mezcal. Our group also got a turmeric cocktail, a drink inspired by Thai ice tea, and a charcoal based cocktail served in a swan shaped glass that I adored. Service was slow despite the place sitting mostly empty, but they may have been working through some growing pains. I think that now they've been open a while they may be more packed than when I first visited, so make a reservation if you're planning a visit on the weekend. read more

I made a reservation here for the day after I had gone to Dolly Varden. The second I walked in I was like, "are we in the same restaurant we went to yesterday?" Then I looked at the menu and, sure enough, the exact same menu. The only difference is that the food is smaller. - the corn flake crusted French toast from Dolly Varden was the exact same, just cut into smaller pieces here. The chicken and waffles from Dolly Varden was just given as sliders with a smaller portion here. Overall, the service was good. The food was pretty good, albeit small. And the restaurant was cute.
