LOVE Ladybird Taco. I get the same thing every time. The #3 (bacon, egg, and potato taco) with their patron sauce (a garlic jalapeño sauce which is divine), and an iced carmadillo latte. The bacon is always crispy and I love the taste of the tortillas (they are homemade). The interior is bright and clean, and has a chic aesthetic. The customer service is always extremely welcoming, cheerful, and personable. I come here probably 3x per month and I have yet to have any kind of negative experience. It's clearly a well managed establishment. I'm really happy to have Ladybird as part of the Birmingham restaurant scene! read more

I had heard amazing things about this place from my family and nashville and was so excited to try it. We got there 11:30 on a Saturday and while it was busy we were able to find a seat and order relatively quickly. I felt like the food came out pretty fast too. Towards noon it started getting more packed and the line is all the way to the door so I would recommend coming earlier since it's so popular! You go to the front and order and then they give you a number and you go to your seat. I didn't realize they are known for their breakfast and actually serve it all day! I was able to try one breakfast taco and one lunch one. The breakfast taco was my favorite. I love that the taco's have number stickers on the outside so you can know which one is which without even having to unwrap. This comes in clutch with a big group too. We didn't have our kids but it was very kid friendly. Had a good kids menu as well. They also had outdoor seating for a beautiful day. My one complaint, like I've seen a few others list is the chips in the chips in queso were a little hard and had a little too much salt on them. I would for sure recommend and will go back. Absolutely loved coming here for the first time this past week! It's located in Mountainbrook village dangerously close to Jenis ice cream (my weak spot). It is ridiculously busy in the store and there's not many tables. We ended up ordering our tacos to go just in case we wouldn't get a free table once we finished ordering. The vibes of the place are casual and chill! People were there in their sweatshirts and workout gear. Now to talk about the food, I ordered a #4 (chorizo, egg and cheese) which was absolutely delicious with the different sauces and a #9 (chicken, cotija, pickled onions) which was equally as delicious! The only thing I personally thought tasted a little different was the queso that I got with chorizo. It had kind of an acidic taste maybe from the tomato I think. But would I order it again and eat it? Yes and yes! Overall, this restaurant gets two thumbs up and I'll definitely be back! read more

I had super high hopes for Ladybird Taco! The establishment itself is beautiful it's in a great location, and they have pretty chill front end staff! I got the #8 and my husband got the #11 we both thoroughly enjoyed our tacos! My brisket was tender and smokey, I mean it is the Texas way! I wish I was able to get a picture of them but we hit a snag that distracted us a bit. I'm highly offended by the "Texas-Style" queso we were served this morning it was coagulated it could literally slide out of the to go container it's served in as a block! My husband took it up to the counter because surly this has to be a mistake.... He was told that this is how the queso is sometimes because of how it's heated up, well the problem is it's 8:30a.m. Everything should be fresh and hot especially the queso. I'm from Texas never ever have I been served queso that I can spackle the wall with, we've waited to try this establishment on purpose so all the kinks could be worked out. I tried lady bird tacos this morning and it was a terrible experience.... I was informed that they change their gloves and use a separate gluten free tortilla press, which I don't think is the case. I have celiac disease and avoiding ALL gluten is essential for my health. I would have rather been told "yeah, we don't care that you have celiac disease and aren't going to change anything on our end" VS being told they understand and then end up being sick all day from getting "glutened." read more

The tacos are rolled up like a little burrito and 2 of them filled me up pretty good. One wouldn't have though. Their salsas are flavorful and super yummy too. The Watermelon Aqua Fresca was refreshing and the hot coffee was so, so good! Everything was flavorful and on point. Unbeknownst to me, the owner was sitting next to me and when I was done he asked how I enjoyed my meal. That's when I learned he was the owner. Tried this place yesterday. Loved it! My son & I went for breakfast. He got the bacon, egg & cheese taco and the watermelon Agua Fresca. I got the Egg, Black Bean, Avocado, Potato taco and The Carmadillo latte. Everything was delicious! Also, the staff was SO friendly & helpful. Delicious tacos!! I thought the price per taco was a bit high but after getting the tacos they were pretty loaded up. The brisket is tender, Smokey, and was not fatty at all. The chicken was also tender and everything was very flavorful. The flour tortillas were fresh and the corn tortillas were a bit thicker than what you usually see, kind of reminded me of a tamale. Yummy fast casual with a unique take on tacos. I ordered the Cheese (quest fresco #10) and the #7 brisket. Both need some salsa- there are 3 options to try. The cheese on the brisket one seemed a little ...."too orange fake"- would have preferred a traditional SW cheese like cojita. The elote (street corn) was decent, though the corn wasn't charred. Still- I'd get it again. Make sure to order corn tortillas if that's you're preference, because these come on a homemade flour tortilla. #10 was good, though the cabbage would be helped with a 30 minute steep in some lime juice as it does have that super crunchy raw-ness to it. I want to start by saying in the last year my family has been a huge ladybird taco fan. But the last 2 times we have been the service and food was so disappointing after last week my daughter and I both agreed we will not be back. I am a clean eater and super picky about my restaurants. So this has been a good choice but the last 2 visits there was food quality issues that can't be ignored. I understand mistakes can happen but there was a hair on my daughter's tacos and I took it to the manager and he blamed me. And I am a regular ( once a week) . And i have never ever complained about anything before. I did not even ask for a refund just for a replacement taco for my child and the manager looked at me and flat out said no. We aren't to blame and you can just purchase another one. This was seriously crossing a line for me. It's a $4 kids taco and to tell me that it's my curly black hair in my food when we are both blondes with long hair. It was very upsetting. He went so far to say that he gave my daughter extra cheese for free a few weeks ago when she asked for cheese. I wanted to write this review right away 3 days ago when it happened but I thought I wouod cool off and wait. But really I'm Just as bothered by it 3 days later. The manager is somewhat new but I still feel like that isn't an excuse for him To treat any customer the way he treated me and my 8 yr old daughter. Very disappointed read more
