This is Lagos Islands second location. This spot does not have pizza like the other location in Upper Darby. The building used to have a small sandwich shop called Jimmy's, but I believe there was a fire a couple of years ago that closed it permanently. Parking is out front along Chester Pike and can be a challenge. It's a bit tight, I would suggest possibly parking on a side street if you can. The inside looks like there needs to be a bit of organization done. It's a bit cluttered, there are several tables along the outer wall, but I remember Jimmy's having a diner like counter bar before. The girl at the front counter was extremely nice and a great conversation. She talked at length about the menu which seems to have a bit of a spicy/jerk twist to some of your typical sandwich shop standards as well as chicken. They also have seafood (Salmon, shrimp, mussels, fried fish) dishes, bbq ribs (beef and pork) and rice platters. She had me hooked when she mentioned a Salmon Cheesesteak which could have shrimp added. It's served with peppers, onions and Monterey jack cheese on a Liscio's roll. My sandwich was made to order and came out pretty fast. The guy working the grill did a great job. The sandwich held together well and was not sloppy at all. The salmon is finely chopped up/minced and had wonderful flavors. The shrimp were fresh and sat on top of the sandwich. I really enjoyed the flavor profile, it had a cajun black pepper bite and the cheese melted well inside the bun and with the meat to help give it a creamy flavor. I've never had a sandwich like this before and would definitely repeat. I hope these guys find a way to add pizza to this location, but they are doing ok with the menu as it exists now. The food is amazing , let's start there. The service was very poor. Exponentially poor if I have to be honest for the sake of an honest review. I wasn't greeted with any kind of welcome and after I spent $30 on my meal the dark skinned girl at the counter just sat my food on the counter and walked away. Have you ever had the rice from Nigeria? Oh my God this place is so fantastic, and I absolutely love their specialty rice with chicken or with with shrimp or with both. I don't care if you are near Sharon Hill or not, you need to go out of your way to go to this place and have some great Nigerian food. Yes, they do offer some basic American things like chicken wings, but I definitely recommend trying there specialty. We found this place by mistake, and we have been back so many times! They have a great little seating area, they have some freshly made desserts, and some freshly made juice every day. You can also bake your order to go. I recently ordered on doordash today 1/20/24 and I purchased a Shrimp and salmon Alfredo bowl and after almost eating the whole thing I found a roach in my food. when I called to see what could be done they told me they were unable to give me refund and that I need to contact doordash. Very inconsistent with the dishes. One day the food is great, the next the pasta is overcooked and mushy and lacks any flavor. I was very pleased with my experience the first time i tried their shrimp alfredo. It was flavorful and well made. The second time i got it however, I couldn't eat it. You could taste that the pasta water hadn't been salted in both me and my friend's meal. It didn't taste like the dishes were seasoned at all. The pasta was way too soft (overcooked). I went in to ask for a refund or something because the alfredo actually tasted ridiculous. The woman at the register said she'd let her boss know and issue a refund to the card the food was purchased on. Weeks later, and that money hasn't arrived. I will not be purchasing from here again, which is disappointing because most of the time their food is good. This experience was unacceptable. The dish was completely flavorless. I cannot order from here again because I don't want to risk losing another $30+ dollars on food that may or may not be good. read more

I've been in here 3 times since they opened. Each time the food was great. I usually get the jerk chicken with shrimp over rice. Everything is flavorful and well seasoned. Chicken is moist and the sauce is delicious. THe rice is well seasoned without being overly salted. One of the three times the shrimp was peeled. It was a definite plus to not have to get my hands dirty peeling my shrimp while I eat. So hopefully they start peeling the shrimp for most orders, I believe most people would agree with me. The portions are a good size, I finished mine but my student teacher that was eating with me for lunch got a second meal out of hers. Most of the time the orders are quick but I did have to wait a little but one time which can be an issue as often time I only have 1/2 hour or so for lunch so I do need to consider speed of service when I'm eating for lunch. They have a few parking spaces right out front, but be sure not to park in front of Widdis next door as they are always busy pulling cars in and out. Lagos also does catering, I have some friends from the Carribean I'm either going to have over with the catered dishes or I might just bring them down. I've spent some time in different Jerk chicken spots in the islands and this food it on point. I was sad to see Jimmy's go but I'm very Happy Lagos came in! read more

This restaurant needs pesticides, exterminators, and Jesus because I saw a oggy the roach on his way to his family in my food, The workers saw it and did not want to refund and that's not it. I found this place the other day. I ordered one of their Salmon and Shrimp Cheese steaks. It was the best sandwich that I have ever experienced. I enjoyed every bite of the sandwich. The flavor was over the top. I wished I would of brought two after my last bite. Their prices are pretty reasonable in comparison to similar restaurants. Definitely worth several revisits! read more

Ordered the jerk chicken and salmon platter along with the jerk chicken Alfredo. Large portion sizes with plenty to share. Jerk sauce was a bit too sweet, especially for the Alfredo, a spicier sauce would have complemented it more. I was initially excited to try this place of business because the food online look good. However, I placed an online order of jerk breaded wings and fries. I picked up my order and once I arrived home I noticed my wings were incorrect. I immediately bagged the food back up and began driving back to the restaurant. I also contacted the restaurant and informed them that I was on my way back because my wings were incorrect and I also requested for fresh fries. I also informed them that I would be giving them the entire platter back because Due to traveling back and forth because of the restaurants mistake my UNTOUCHED food was cold. Once I arrived to the restaurant I was informed that they would rectify the issue with my wings but was not willing to give me fresh fries. Which is very unfortunate because had my order been correctly made by the restaurant I would not have to request for fresh fries. The manager kept telling me I could not get fresh fries per the owners decision. Ended up getting a refund and I would NOT dare spend a dime at this establishment. I'm spending my hard earned money, you mess up my order and then expect me to eat cold fries. Customer service is trash! read more
