We drove from Vegas to visit Big Bear and we decided to stay in this Resort. We were able to check in early about hour early. For the price the rooms are clean. The only complain i have is that our bathroom had empty body wash & almost empty shampoo inside the dispenser.plus i don't think our room even has a A/C but that's ok at least they left a fan in our room plus the room has a ceiling fan. read more

Amazing place right on the Main Street , across from the water!!! Peter and John are the best, they take care of us 1st responders, the rooms are amazing, they have the Jacuzzi tub right next to the bed. And right in front of both the Jacuzzi tub and the bed is an amazing gas fireplace that works on the first time. The rooms are super clean they come with the refrigerator and a microwave. Update: owner messaged me to gripe about my review. So he also decides to comment on the review. I'll add that the customer service is also terrible. I stayed here during a summer month and it was so bad, I left at 3am to go to another hotel. Room I stayed in was very outdated. It's not ADA friendly when it comes to having an elevator (so carrying bags up two flights of stairs) and there is no air conditioning/fan. You should not have to pay a premium price to abide by ADA. Wouldn't recommend if you want a comfortable place - but near the village is nice. read more

Robinhood saved our family Big Bear trip from being a complete nightmare and we are so excited to enjoy our 2 night stay here. Big shout out to Todd at the front desk who saved us at midnight. After a very late start to our trip up to Big Bear and having our previous reservations unexpectedly change last minute, we needed a place to stay. Driving through town we saw the Vacancy sign and decided to pull into the resort to see if we'd have any luck getting a room to accommodate our family and we are beyond happy we did. First of all, the front desk guy named Joe was extremely accommodating and took the time to show me a room. Trying to find a nice hotel near village Drive was not easy. It's a great area with lots of good restaurants and shopping near the lake. Most of The hotels and condos are very dated. That was the case with this hotel. I wanted to like it so much because the location is great and I have friends that have stayed there. But personally I found it dark, with old carpet, and very dated. It also smelled like smoke or maybe it was just musky. I was assured that there was no smoking. The lobby however, smelled terribly like smoke. I only gave it three stars because of the location. I didn't actually end up staying there but stayed across the street for quite a bit more $ at Marina Riviera hotel. read more

For the price the room is very outdated. We stayed there. This past weekend. Staff is very nice. Made service super nice drywall and plaster missing in bathroom mould behind sink for their prices. They should have a more update amenities. In the room. Location is amazing. This is such an excellent location! The rooms are a bit dated, but very clean. This didn't subtract from our stay at all. The microwave, TV, fridge, shower, and thermostat all worked perfectly. Peter was very kind, offered us a free upgrade, and we even were able to check in early. The view from our room overlooked Pine Knot Ave. and Big Bear village within walking distance of restaurants, bars, etc. Would love to stay here again! read more

Some parking spaces are underneath pine trees that can drop cones 5" long, so you may want to park in other spaces. The hotel has rooms in three buildings. My room was in the Wishing Well Motel, which has the same owners. My room was next to the Main Street, Pine Knot Ave, so it was quiet from about 10:30 pm to 8 am. For a quiet room, ask for one away from the larger roads. Woodpeckers right outside my room! Like other mountain hotels, there is heating but no AC or bathroom fan. Good AT&T cellphone signal. Hotel Wi-Fi is good in the parking lot but may not work in the room - Wi-Fi may suffer interference from the nearby cell tower. read more

Location location location. This place is where it's at. The staff makes your day. Super welcoming and helpful. We stayed in a cute cowboy room. It had a mini fridge and microwave. I had a reservation for October 4 for one night. I became ill a few days before and was unable to make it. There was a no refund clause in cancellation policy on Booking.com. But when I reached out to John at Robinhood resort, he explained to me that since I was sick and it was more than 48 hours before canceling, he would not charge me the cancellation fee. booking.com was able to contact John and work it out where I did not have to pay the cancellation fee . I'm saddened that I wasn't able to stay at the resort this weekend, but I plan to very soon. Partly because of John's understanding in my situation. read more

A friend and I went for a girls weekend. We wanted to stay as close to the village as possible so we could walk everywhere. When reading some of the reviews we were a little leery about staying here, but the proximity to the village won us out. Upon arrive early the lady (didn't get name) at the front desk was extremely nice and gave us recommendations on places to go that evening, we ask about an upgrade and was told to come back in an hour when John was there. (Again we were 3 hours early to check in time). When we came back John had already taken care of us was very friendly and helpful. As we were going to our room we noticed hand sanitizers located at convenient locations throughout the hotel. Once in the room we checked the mattress (bed bugs scare me), the mattress were double covered and looked new. NO bugs found thank goodness. :) The room was clean and looked like it had a mini make over. The sink, floor and curtains in the bathroom look newer. The bathtub was circuit 1970's but clean. The carpet in our room looked clean. Yes, this is an older hotel, so you can't expect perfection. The table and chairs were older but clean. We had a fireplace in our room that we used in the evenings and it kept the room nice and warm. They're is a heater that worked great. On Saturday we decided to have a couple drinks in the outdoor restaurant. The hostess and server were both very friendly. Best bloody mary I've had in a long time. This area outside looks really pretty at night (I took a pic). Our room was downstairs, so as this is an older hotel you can hear the people in the room above us walking. We went to the front desk a couple of times during our visit and everyone was very friendly and helpful. I would of given 4 stars because of how dated some things were, but the staff's friendliness and helpfulness, the awesome location to the Village, and the convenient parking had me giving them 5 stars. read more

This was our first time in Big Bear and we're thrilled we stayed at Robinhood Resort. The location is perfect. Walked to the lake and The Village. Short drive to Alpine Park. Yes, the room are a little outdated...but not in a bad way. This reminds me of my parents cabin, where you wouldn't want all modern and shiny. We had a one bedroom suite and it was great. It was clean and well organized. The front desk staff was always pleasant! We will be back! And I would definitely recommend this hotel! read more

We are still stripping blankets and backpacks after bringing them into this disGUSTING room (that we did not choose, btw) to make sure we didn't bring home any bed bugs. All the thumbs down, way WAY down. This is one of those, "if I could give negative stars" reviews. We went here to stay with family for a weekend Big Bear Trip a couple weeks ago. We had our dog with us. I guess they are "pet friendly" but I also guess this means they dump you in the most disgusting room: moldy showers, thin towels, gross carpet, chipping paint, you name it... The walls were paper thin, and at night, I kid you NOT: we could hear the snoring from the next room through the vent, stomping from upstairs, monster trucks pulling in at all hours, the room was not well ventilated, the bathroom was exactly eye level and adjoining a parking lot where people could see and hear you. Maintenance folks passed by at like all hours, wtf? And on top of it, the mattress was so GROSS, I couldn't sleep because I was terrified of bed bugs. When I checked the box spring it was ripped, stained and about 50 years old. Traumatizing. I didn't bother telling the manager guy (Peter? I don't even remember) because he is surly just like these comments say, and figured I would just write this review. For what it's worth. When we got home, all of our stuff went into bags, we didn't seem to have bed bugs, but we left completely bummed out over experience. Resort is nowhere near how I would describe this dump of all dumps. The one consolation was a nearby park where I could take my dog to go sniff by the lake. PASS HARD ON THIS PLACE. read more

June 2021 and Covid restrictions are lifting in California. However, there are no signs of sanitation on door outside. No notice of masking or not. No hand sanitizer in lobby or in room. The rooms don't seem sanitized. The switch plate was broken when we walked in, which isn't a big deal but it would have been so easy to replace rather than housekeeping picking it up off the floor and setting it precariously on the wall. Either housekeeping is lazy, and that's not good, or management doesn't want to know about repairs, and that's worse. The location is central to the Village and I've heard that locals meet here, but the rooms don't have central air. See fan for reference. There is heat in bathroom and a heater in the room. Where should I begin? I honestly should have taken pictures of how filthy and old this resort is! I seen the world's largest bed bug in our room. I honestly left my luggage in my vehicle, I only stayed with them because there were no other Hotels available in the big bear area because of the huge winter storm that was coming in this weekend! I witnessed the kitchen manager NORMA yelling at kids very rudely while they were playing in the snow... the manager from the kitchen area got hostile with this family for no apparent reason! The staff at the front lobby talk to you like if they are zombies! The only thing that was pleasant about my stay is when I left the room for the day to enjoy myself and go get my lottery scratchers! -Rude miserable staff -outdated pillow cases from 1876 -kitchen food tastes like cardboard -Norma the manager needs anger management classes -bath tubs are disgusting I'm sorry but this place is NO RESORT! You get what you pay for! It's a room to sleep in and freshen up. It was clean, that's what mattered. Only notable complain was to replace the ugly/old brown comforters and make sure to bring your own pillows as they were what you expect with a $100 room. Great location as well. read more

The hotel room was a cacophony of issues that marred what should have been a restful stay. Loose bathroom tiles rattled with every step, echoing the disregard for upkeep. The floors were a symphony of squeaks, making it nearly impossible to move without announcing your presence to the entire floor. As if that weren't enough, the bed sheets were disconcertingly unclean, betraying a lack of attention to the basics of hospitality. It was evident that the room hadn't experienced a thorough cleaning in quite some time, with dust accumulating in corners and surfaces. The cumulative effect left an indelible impression of a place that lacked the care and commitment to provide a comfortable and sanitary environment for its guests. I strongly recommend to avoid staying at this absolute monstrosity that they call a "resort" ,this is going to be my first and last time staying here. read more

Warning: Overdue review! Have stayed here before to go to the Snow Summit Bike Park. This summer, was all set to go when the Governor of CA closed access to the state forests due to wildfires. We had to cancel and it sickened us because we know how hard it is on small businesses. The hotel was great and understood why we had to cancel. I've stayed here before but it was years back. This time I stayed with my family and got a bigger room, it was nice and neat, spacey and clean. Great location in big bear, it's close to everything. The only reason I did t give it a 5 star is because when we checked in our tv didn't work, I had to call the front desk to let them know, they came and fixed it quick but then the next morning the lights went out and the AC, we thought it was the hotel but no the whole block went out of electricity and did t have it on for hrs, that wasn't the hotels fault.. but all of a sudden to make matters worse the fire alarm went off in our room and again.. we thought it was again the hotel.. no just our room. I would stay there again..to give the place another chance, it's great for family's my kids slept comfortably. read more

Have stayed here many times. The location is the best to be able to walk to the village. There is also a restaurant that is very good. I read the other reviews and I can assure you we never saw a bug. Remember, you are in the mountains, if there are any bugs it should not come as a surprise. If you are looking for new and updated this may not be for you. If you are looking for comfort, convenience and a friendly atmosphere....this is the place. First thing very outdated. Was a little warm. Has no ac just ceiling fan. To get ice where our room was , you had to go across parking lot and up a flight of stairs. Definitely not ADA Compliant. I called up front desk asked for toilet paper the guy acted like he was irritated and said it will be awhile before we get it to you , when they come in. I'm like what? We stayed here when we needed a spot to get out of the snow while hiking the PCT. Gentleman at the front desk was so easy going and friendly. Made us feel good about our choice (we had plenty of choices). My room was comfortable and cozy. Bed was fine. Shower was oh, so warm on a very cold, snowy day. Yes, the rooms are dated and small. If you were looking for posh, open your wallet and go somewhere else. If you need a safe, comfortable, and affordable place to stay with friendly staff, this is it. I wouldn't call this a "resort" by any means. My room was pretty crappy and small. The phone in the room didn't work so I couldn't call them to tell them my TV didn't work, the shower head was busted and we had to bend down to use the spout to rinse off the rest of our shampoo/conditioner and the comforter and pillows were highly questionable. However, they had a restaurant at the "resort" and we were seated and served immediately for dinner. Surprisingly, everything our party ordered was delicious and service was fantastic. The "resort" is right at the beginning of the village so location was super convenient to the shops and other restaurants. Unfortunately, all the other restaurants had a 2 hour wait (busy Saturday) so that is the only reason why we decided to try Robinhood's restaurant. But we were thoroughly pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Low rating for the room itself but high rating for the restaurant. read more

We stayed at Wishing Well (one of the three areas). The location was so great and the price was so affordable that we were expecting the worst (bugs, dirt, paper thin walls, noisy, vomit stains, bug vomit, etc). PARKING Even on a holiday weekend, plenty of parking, it's like the Staples center during a WNBA Sparks game. SERVICE The two guys at the front desk are so super nice that I could only suspect the reviews of bad service were from sneaky competitors or from demanding d-bags who didn't get their way. In fact, we couldn't find our second room key upon checkout, but the guy told us "eh, stuff happens" and didn't charge us. (Don't take this as an invitation to lose your key: he legally could have charged us $100 or more) LOCATION The rooms (in the 60s) are away from the busy Nottinghams restaurant area, so we felt like the cool kids, like final season Greg Brady in the attic, secluded for privacy and peace, with a huge patio and grill (shared with only a dozen rooms), but close enough to walk to the bar and crawl back home. ROOM Our room was bigger than we expected, clean, with nice furnishings (flat screen tv with cable, coffee pot, a nice pull out Ikea couch bed) and the bed was huge and super comfortable. The toilet was not a Little John. Our favorite room is #63 which overlooks the Clydesdale horse clip-clopping down Pine Knot. The windows were thick, so with the fan on, we didn't hear the cars or late night drunks. We didn't even hear our neighbors (we're chill and appreciate the 10pm quiet notice). The water was hot and the pressure was decent. Yeah, having no air conditioning was not cool (literally), but that was the only downside. This went from being A place to stay to being THEE place to stay. PS. We were a little early, but the older gentleman who checks us in gave us a room early. The room (room 1) was HORRIBLE. It was dirty, old linens (looked like grandmas from the mid 70's) on the bed, it was dusty and smelled like wet dogs lived in there. Television did not work, with tons of wires dangling down the wall from the t.v. After asking the gentleman at desk, he had someone come fix it. The bathroom just as bad. Towels old and used looking (matched grandmas 1970's decor) mouse droppings on the floor and a huge hole in the bathroom cabinet. When you get on the bed, it felt dirty and dusty. Oh the best part... IT HAD BED BUGS!!!! We didn't realize until we got home... with TONS of bites!!!! THANKS ROBINHOOD RESORT!! Kicker was, when we were leaving we happened to look in the window of the room right next to us as we were passing and a COMPLETELY different room. It looked clean with new furniture.
