The Snow Lake Lodge is a quaint place to stay in Big Bear. The reservation process was easy and quick. Check-in was simple, fast, and the employees beyond friendly. The room was a nice surprise as it had two fireplaces (on in the bedroom & one in the living room area. Fully stocked kitchen was clean and neat. Location is optimal as it is right off hwy 18, on Big Bear Blvd in the middle of town. I highly recommend the SLL and will definitely be staying here again.

UPDATE: they were very accommodating and moved us to another room. It was much cooler when you opened the windows! Went from 3 stars to 4 stars for service

This place was great, the "room" (suite really) was huge for the price. We came in June 2024, the temperature was nice. Kitchen has great and numerous wares. Service was really nice, although we didn't use it much. Kids liked the jacuzzi and pool a lot.

Do they provide cookware- pots and pans, cutlery?

I really enjoyed my stay and I'm going to give you the good, the bad and the between as I saw it…read more There was a lot to really enjoy but the best was the jacuzzi inside the room. It was huge and the water was always super hot and the shower was hot right when I got out of the tub. A little soap goes a very long way with bubbles, proceed with caution. The room and the spa were very clean, there was a sticker on the door with the name of the person and the date that our room was sanitized which was reassuring to me. Once inside it smelled clean and everything looked clean. I did take a bottle of Odoban and did a once over but it was during COVID paranoia. Whenever I stay anywhere I strip the bed and put on my own sheets and blanket but when tearing the bed apart our white linens were very white and clean. I read reviews about a rouge hair or two and myself having very long dark hair I find it silly that it would be a huge deal, even in the most immaculate environment one is bound to pop up, trust me, I know but I understand with COVID everyone needs to be on top of their game with cleanliness. I found the location to be really convenient, it was close to everything we wanted to do. We had several exchanges with the owner, we checked in after midnight and she was friendly and professional. Since we were both working remotely due to COVID we decided we wouod like to stay another night if they could accommodate us and she was very courteous and made the process easy and that extra night actually turned into 3 extra nights! I suppose one could find the rooms dated, I personally felt like they were cute and cozy and felt cabin like,I didn't mind the decor at all. We stayed in cabin 16, I was able to scope out 17 and has been updated recently and is more modern. They both cost the same so I would probably go with 17 it's really the best bang for your buck. Finding our cabin at night was fairly difficult if you are able to check in during the day I would definitely say do that. We eventually found our cabin, they all look the same and aren't marked terribly well. The parking is a bit tight I came straight from buying a new fairly expensive car so I had to park a few different times until I was satisfied I would avoid a door ding but that was probably new car paranoia and if you don't arrive after midnight like a dummy you'll probably have a better chance at choice parking. Once in the cabin I saw there was one of those QR codes on the wall for you to scan and when you do they offer a coupon code that can't be applied retroactively of course so I was kinda bummed by that because it only required a 3 day stay to receive the discount and we stayed over twice that long so perhaps it could have been offered. I found it online as well so before you book look online for coupon codes because they're available. I found booking straight from their website was less expensive than Expedia and the other travel sites. For the price I think this place is unbeatable. Just when you thought I was going to shut up I pop back up... I forgot to mention that one night a family checked into one of the family cabins and they were out until after 10 pm and they were loud eventually I called Cathy at the number she provides for you to call if you need anything and within 5 minutes she had sent someone to take care of the issue. I'm not sure if any of the cabins are pet friendly but I know that the one we stayed in was not and that was really the biggest issue we had. I have a 4 pound Yorkie with separation anxiety and he's grown quite accustomed to going everywhere with me so we had to hire a pet sitter and I really missed my Lil guy! I wish they allowed pets of a certain size with a deposit. Other than that I can't wait until it's time to go back. We went in the last week of April for my birthday and the weather was perfect. Not too cold but you still definitely get that mountain experience and since it's the off season everything is very affordable. Remember to look for that coupon code online and to book through their direct website and the price is unreal.

We complained and was told that they had the right to change us. It's not in their written policies anywhere. This room was substandard, especially to the one we actually booked. And was not stable to move plus that was the only place to hang clothing. No drawers The mini sofa at the end of the bed was torn and poked your behind if you sat on it. Everything is done by text message, yet conflicts aren't resolved. It was our ;9 wedding anniversary. We were deeply dissapointed after reading other's posit reviews. We won't be back

Let me first off mention that around 9:00pm-ish the entire Big Bear Valley region was blacked out due to winds, and this was done by BBEV it was announced earlier in the day, but if you aren't signed up for email or texts (which apparently this Club was not), you were caught unawares. This impacted our experience as we were sitting down for dinner at 9:00pm and all of a sudden (snapping fingers) it's pitch black... EVERYWHERE, not a glimmer of light in sight. We thought, of course, it must be a temporary condition until we went on Reddit and read that it would be off until 3:00AM. We received no notification, via texts (this is the form of communication at this property), from the hotel, no Safety (formerly known as Security in the hospitality industry) to make sure people were ok. We didn't have candles, and our phones weren't charged, etc. Then our water was turned off due to a leak in our building in the morning, and Engineering knocked on our door to let us know, and that's when we got the update from the hotel staff. This was around 10:30am. Bill in Engineering was so kind and patient as we asked, what I am guessing, questions that probably had been asked all morning, LOL He also opened our garage so we could get our vehicle out. From here on, this review is based on our first impressions and the end of our stay. We arrived after 5:00pm, and check-in was quick and courteous. The place is very spacious! The kitchen is roomy and great for preparing meals for a large group - just beware to bring EVERYTHING... this isn't an Airbnb you'll need to bring all seasonings/condiments, etc. needed for preparing a meal. I recommend taking advantage of the grill outside. It was super easy to use, and convenient for outdoor dining on the balcony where there is a round table to seat about 4ppl. The dining table was HUGE and perfect for our 5-course meal. There is a built-in desk area someone can use as a workspace if needed. Living rooms are inviting and open; however, the TVs are not SMART TVs - this shouldn't be a problem if you plan to relax and spend quality time with whomever you are traveling with, but do keep in mind they do not have access to Netflix, Prime, AppleTV, etc. It's strictly cable. The temperatures drop considerably in the evening... we turned on the gas fireplace and enjoyed the ambiance. The day after the blackout (power was returned at 1:00pm), we had breakfast out on the balcony. It was comfortable and quiet. Bedrooms are large, and the bathrooms are ample for groups that are coming with multiple guests in each room. Soaking tubs, walk-in showers, and double vanities are fantastic amenities here. Imagine my glee to find they supply Crabtree & Evelyn Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Wash, and Lotion! The TVs in the rooms are small as well, and are in the armoire... you'd be better off bringing your laptop or iPad to watch something, since these TVs only have cable access. We did use the pool, but didn't take advantage of the jacuzzi as there were a lot of kids in there. The clubhouse was inviting, and we made a point to taste the popcorn, and I made myself an English Breakfast Tea (Twinings). In this area is also a Coffee, Latte, and Hot Chocolate brewing machine. I like that they have a library located on the 2nd floor overlooking the lobby. I didn't use the gym or the billiards room, but I did take a peek - large and clean, from what I could tell. BTW, the village is located immediately outside the gates. A short 5-minute walk will have you at the cafes, restaurants, bars, and gift shops. If you didn't bring groceries or forgot something, Vons and Stater Bros are about a 15-minute drive down the road. If possible, request a unit that has a view of the lake... not all of them do, but you can request in advance, and it would be based upon availability. It's a little outdated and has dark interiors, but I am looking forward to my return for a 'do-over'. Respectfully Reviewed.
