I was attending an event at Browns Bridge Church in Cumming, so I immediately hopped on Yelp to see what food adventures I could have while in the area. I couldn't pass up a taqueria with a 4+ star rating. What a great find! From the pictures on Yelp, I had already decided that I was going to try the fish tacos. When I walked into the restaurant, I was slightly disappointed to see the typical burrito buffet set-up. I was concerned I had gotten excited about another build-your-own burrito joint (which I love, but was not in the mood for that night). But don't let the set-up fool you. The interior of the restaurant is cute and colorful. The atmosphere is very casual. There are some tables for four, as well as some community tables. Because I was dining alone with Lena Dunham (or her book, anyway), I grabbed a seat at the front bar. It is not a terribly large place, but a great deal of business on the night I visited appeared to be take-out (although there were a number of patrons inside enjoying dinner, too). There is a small outdoor seating area. The cashiers and burrito artists were very friendly and helpful. I ordered a chips and queso and grabbed some salsa from the salsa bar. I also ordered the fish tacos, as I had planned. They were incredible. Chips were fresh, salty and crispy. The fish tacos came two to an order and were huge. They were stuffed with fresh veggies and a heavenly chipotle sauce. I hope to return to try the tamales and the chilaquiles one day. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area. read more

I don't understand how this place has good reviews. I went here one time and got a bowl with chicken. The chicken was awful, just incredibly disgusting. It tasted off, it was not seasoned with anything other than salt and had the texture of chicken that was boiled not grilled. The staff here are the rudest people I've ever seen at any restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was so nice. You order outside on a kiosk and the bring it out to you. I waited in my car and the sweet girl came out to the car to ask me a question and also brought the food to the car which was above and beyond in my ideas. Portions are large. Food is delicious and staff works hard to wow their guests. They succeeded admiralty in our case. I had two soft ground beef tacos that were heavy with best tasting tomatoes even in November. One of these heavy tacos is a full meal so I took one home for another meal. My better half had the fish tacos. They are legendary and are sure to please. The place is basic but tidy. It's clean as a whistle. Very good food. Similar concept to Moes or Chipotle but seems locally owned. Good service, very nice staff and food was very good.

I had the lake burrito and it was good. Everything tasted fresh. I didn't like how the restaurant nickel and dimes the customers though. Both of my daughter's went right down the line in front of me and were asked about different items going into their burritos but nobody mentioned the extra charge for the small amount of queso and guac. So before you know it, my kids burritos were pushing nine dollars. That's way too much for a chicken burrito. The other thing is that the owner underpays the employees which leads to the customer being asked to supplement the low wages in the form of tips. I'm not sure why the owner feels it's ok to do this. There were two places that I was asked to tip. If the owner would pay a normal wage, we wouldn't have to tip the employees for only doing their job. The good news though is that by paying for our water cups, we are keeping Lake Lanier clean. I'm guessing the owner uses this money to donate to an entity that cleans the lake. What a great idea! They should use this more to their advantage and get some press recognition for their clever idea. read more

Lake Burrito, I wanted to like you so badly, but my experience here was below my expectations. I came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch around 1:00 and the line was lined up all the way to the back of the building. I was not looking forward to waiting, but I took this as a sign that the food would be worth the wait. I ordered a burrito with grilled chicken and sides of queso and guacamole. When I got to the register, I was surprised to see that my total was $20 for these 3 things, especially since I didn't get a drink. However, I was hopeful that the taste of the food would be worth the price. That wa not the case. The burrito was very bland. It honestly tasted like nothing, and I was surprised that the grilled chicken didn't have any flavor. The queso was so watered down that it tasted like milk instead of cheese and was extremely runny. The guacamole was not my favorite because the onions and cilantro were all I could taste. It was so overpowering. I also wished that they offered a smaller size of the queso and guacamole that was a little less expensive. I've heard such great things about this place, but maybe I should have got the fish tacos. I just figured if the word burrito was in the name of the place, then that is what I should get. read more

Good quality food. The line was long but moved efficiently. All the tables were full when we were in a long line but the entire place flowed well and people were able to get seats as others finished so it worked out well. The fish tacos are good but not so hearty like a burrito. For the price point I think more toppings on those would be good like black beans or something. Note that the pico on them is a little spicy. The atmosphere is clean and nice. Good restrooms. The staff is helpful and they have cool items such as the Lake Burrito trucker hat which I purchased for $15. I would go back here. Actually I'd like to try breakfast next time. We ordered an item for a child and didn't realize until we had sat down and started eating that they had a children's menu too. It is not listed with the other menu items on the wall. It's below on the glass. It's easy to miss if you don't know about it. Note for management: You guys are doing a great job!! The line can be very long and while in line you can't see the menu until it's about time to order which doesn't give much time for first time goers when there's a huge line of people waiting behind you. A small togo menu would be helpful to be able to look at while in line or posting menu items that can be seen closer to the door which is where people are standing when it's busy. Also, something on the menu letting customers know there are child options because if you don't know to look down below on the glass then it's easy to miss. read more

Heard of this place on Facebook and decided to try it out. We're all tired of the same old same old and being stuck at home, so the 15 minute ride was worth it. We ordered online once we got there and the food was ready exactly when the website said it would be. It took no more than 5 minutes!! My daughter, crazy enough, doesn't love Mexican food and got a grilled cheese next door and that simple dish took three times as long as my burrito and taco salad!!!! And my food was 10 times as good as hers!! The service was great and once we got home, the food was delicious! None of us finished our meals and I had the second half of my lunch for dinner. Seriously cool Tex-Mex option in Cumming for lunch and suspringly-BREAKFAST too! Very pleasantly surprised to find this gem nestled off of exit 17. Firstly, 5/5 on decor and ambiance. The interior is very cute with a neat black and white scheme. Lots of potted plants by the entryway. The breakfast menu is straightforward and hangs above the ordering counter. I didn't see a separate breakfast menu on the website so I took a shot and posted one here. Always a joy to find a new local breakfast place. Beautiful, beautiful, presentation. The pico and black beans tasted fresh, and the portions were so large- you won't go hungry.
