We also shared a key lime pie that was excellent! Service was great. Very friendly wait staff. The restaurant was more crowded than before probably because we had gone at 5:30 instead of 7:30. The margaritas are cheap. That's all I can say positive about the drinks. While the Grills margarita doesn't list soda water as one of its ingredients, the "bartender" making them was so kind to include it as the main base. It was basically a watered down tequila seltzer. My girlfriend got the cosmo and it also was very watered down. We didn't eat so this review is strictly regarding cocktails. August 18, 2025, Lake Forest Park We had such a great lunch at Lake Forest Bar and Grill! The outdoor patio is dog-friendly, which was perfect since we're traveling with our pup. They even brought out a water dish right away--such a nice touch. Our server, Matt, was friendly and quick. We decided to share the Charred Grills Steak Salad ($30), and wow--what a winner. The 8-ounce steak was tender and seasoned perfectly; the romaine was crisp and fresh, topped with red onion, avocado, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, and a tangy blue-cheese vinaigrette. The frizzled onion slices on top sealed the deal--so good! Loved that they split it onto two plates for us without even asking--always a win in my book. For dessert, we ordered the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie which came warm in a cast iron pan, and was topped with ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. Very, very good. Came for the all you can eat fried chicken on Sunday. I had a good meal overall, I was a little disappointed that they wanted to charge more for the extra cornbread, which was the tastiest item, but that wasn't mentioned in the menu. Went for the weekend brunch along with the $5 mimosas. Interior lighting was a bit dim, though the decor is cozy. Waitress was sharp albeit curt. Started with a pineapple mimosa which was more juice than wine. Decided to try a Bloody Mary which had a good base, vodka tasted cheap so added more lime, salt, and Tabasco to mask its flavor. Met some work friends here before a book event on a Monday and it was slammed at 5! Our waitress was amazing but she had a lot on her table, literally. We had a mixup with a large party and the manager and waitress could not have been nicer. They got our table ready quickly and when the rest of the people didn't show, they moved us to a more convenient location (for us) . The patio area is nice, there was ample parking, and drinks were good and strong. I tried their special with lemon cello. The calamari special was recommended and we all liked it and the dipping sauce. The watermelon salad was just ok. It needed to be saltier and the tajin was watery tasting. The kid loved his fish and chips and had been starving so got the 3 piece and he couldn't finish because portions were large. The wagyu burger was cooked well, bun was toasted nicely and I got sauce on the side. Friend loved the cowboy steak and the baked beans. We got a snickerdoodle cookie (special dessert) to go and they boxed it up very nicely. It was sweet but the kid really loved it. I've eaten at LFB&G in the past and it's been okay. I took my friends son here for a late lunch. It wasn't very busy, but there was only one server in the entire restaurant that I could see. It took 7 minutes to be seated. I got the beet salad. It had so much dressing on it, the proper name should have been beet soup. My friend's son got the french dip. The au jus looked and tasted like it came from an instant packet, except it was watery. The french dip had an okay amount of meat, but there was some strange sauce on the sandwich that neither he nor I could identify. Neither of us finished lunch. The bill was $48 for a very bad lunch. Sadly, it was my suggestion to eat here. I'll know better next time. read more

Hands down the best happy hour in the area Kenmore/Kirkland/Bothell. The beers are like $4 and they have a great selection of rotating taps (Mannys and more). The outdoor dining area is really tranquil and spacious. A friend and I met to book shop next door and popped in here for lunch/brunch? I was excited to see Biscuits and Gravy on the menu. Reasonably priced at $15.00. Came with 2 eggs and potatoes. Unfortunately, the biscuits were very small and sort of overcooked/burnt. Not much gravy. The eggs were good and the hash browns very nice. I did not finish the biscuits. Service was lovely. I came into my local eatery after a nice cleanup remodel to try their new salmon recipe. I have complained before about their previous salmon dinner that had a glaze on it (looked and tasted like corn syrup). So unfortunate. We used to love this place and came all the time. Last time we came was about a year ago and what we noticed was a huge price increase and a tiny menu with most of our favorite items gone. What we ordered was far from our usual experience, quality wise. We didn't come back. Fast forward to today, we decided to come back because I noticed they're on Passport and we missed the Mac and cheese balls. The Mac and cheese balls were good as always and the staff is the same, they're nice. The rest of our experience wasn't great. Menu is even tinier - no Mac and cheese at all. My son thought the fish and chips were pretty bad and the shrimp and grits, which I have loved in the past was awful. So many ingredients added that didn't need to be there. I would have thought I was at a 4 or 5-star restaurant, seriously. The LEAST expensive item I saw was a cheeseburger for $20! I am at a pub & restaurant. I have NEVER seen prices like these! When I got my cheeseburger, it was a THIN piece of a Kobe Beef patty. It did have LOTS Of lettuce and a Big Bun, making it appear as if there was A LOT of protein. Such was NOT the case! This is a casual restaurant, I have frequented at least 10 times. I think the bonus are, they are open for seating just about anytime you walk in, the food arrives promptly, they have an outdoor patio that is nice. Plus, they have great vegetable side dishes and have my favorite offering, soup. As you walk in, you notice the large bar area. This seems to be a favorite with regulars. The service here is good, they make an effort to bring your food items promptly and check in to see if you need anything during your meal. The food items have ranged from mediocre to really good. The salad featuring golden beets is excellent. The tomato basil soup is tasty. The coconut shrimp is a great way to start, with a Thai chili sauce dip. The sandwiches are good. And while the steaks are not tender, they are flavorful.One aspect of this place, is that they encourage lingering. I have been here with my loved ones and it is nice to have a place where you can leisurely order drinks and appetizers, without feeling rushed. The comfortable booths and laid back service makes you feel positive about spending time here. Was here this week for happy hour. Great service. However, the happy hour burger was very overdone and dry. Creative cocktails, including a huckleberry one my daughter was eager to try. The experience is like going to a friend's house. Sometimes the food and experience is great; other times they have an off day. I've been to this restaurant a number of times in the last couple years, and overall I've had very positive experiences. Went there last night, for the steak medium rare and the blackened chicken Alfredo. My steak was burnt on the outside and red on the inside and left the worse taste in my mouth. The Alfredo was so spicy not just the chicken. We asked for a non spicy sauce but they gave us the same sauce and charged us six bucks for it! The staff is clueless about the menu and it was a terrible and expensive experience. Do yourself a favor and eat ANYWHERE else. This is my second time here with my wife. Our first time was two or three years ago. This place is a bit of a diner, a bit of a pub. The atmosphere is mediocre. The layout of the restaurant is just odd, even though it is nicely furnished. Unfortunately the hanging light above my table (and all the tables are the same) has no shade over the bulb, and the light shone directly into my eyes. However, the food is great. On our second visit we shared a steak salad which was large enough for us, and quite tasty. If necessary I can always grab a snack later, eh? This is my local restaurant hangout for our neighborhood. It has that '60-80s road side diner vibe that takes me back to my childhood. If you have been to LA, you know about Norm's, and that's kind of the vibe this place has inside. They have a nice outdoor seating area with sectionals and fire pits in the back. During the NFL season, they have a special menu for the 12s with lower cost items. There are plenty of screens and it has become more of a sports bar with a hint of mid century modern. The drinks here are good. The huckleberry cosmo is great. We had a "Zelenski-rita" at one point to donate to Ukraine. Service is always friendly and attentive. Our last visit was for dinner and the price increases on the menu were shocking. I did not see the chicken club, my favorite, on the dinner menu. I did order a french dip that was served on a scaled down round bun instead of a hoagie. Not a lot of food for $25. My wife had the tuna bowl which was also relatively small portion for the price. Both were OK but rather small. The portions don't align well with the diner theme or the menu pricing. I get scaling back the protein due to inflation, but why not add some slaw or double the portion of fries so that the plate still feels substantial? Why not throw a couple of fried onion rings on there as a garnish? It just looks skimpy on the plate for the price and the diner vibe. There are no lake views here. It is a nice diner, nothing more, nothing less. If it's not affordable or substantial, it's missing the mark. The normally comfortable booth seats have unexpectedly eliminated the back bolster cushion so it is now hard flat plywood. I do not understand this decision. I didn't really notice the seats in a state of disrepair previously. I definitely notice the lack of comfort from the interior "refresh." I do like the orange mid century loveseats in the entry with bolstered backs, but it was so cold in that area that you could not sit comfortably while waiting for a table. If the owner is reading this, I hope I have been fair in my assessment. We want this place to succeed. We will probably start going more during happy hour or for lunch as the dinner menu is not worth it to us.
