Dr Nancy and Dr Bic are professional, friendly, very knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. In fact, the entire staff possesses these traits. Veronica is wonderful. And Martha at the font desk is simply the cherry on the cake! I am always greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. it's not often one can say they love going to the dentist. Great experience!! The staff is so professional and kind -- I was really impressed. Went in for X-rays and a cleaning, and everything was handled smoothly and with genuine care. I had a very good experience with Lake Shore Dental Care. I went in to get fitted for a night guard, and asked to forego a tooth cleaning because I am uninsured. While fitting me for the night guard, they spotted what looked like a cavity, and did imaging just to show me the location and severity. Understanding I was uninsured they recommended options affordable / accessible dental services for uninsured individuals. Simply THE BEST!!! I have been going to Lake Shore Dental Care for many years. The entire staff has been consistently kind and personable. Dr. Nancy is simply one of the most caring people I have ever met. She is honest in her assessments and allows me to move at my own comfort level. She always has a kind word. And she remembers personal details about me. Martha (at the front desk) calls me with reminders and updates to appointments and care. She is wonderful!!! I could not think of anyone else to be the welcoming force that she is when you walk into the office. She is full of warmth and kindness. And Jasmine (dental assistant) is just as kind as Martha and Dr. Nancy. We always have nice conversation during my time with her. She is one of the sweetest human beings ever. I went to get some cavities filled in December, and I'm paying for it dearly now. The entire experience was terrible, and as soon as I left the office I knew something was wrong. Flash forward to now and I've spent 3k on one of the teeth they worked on, and I'm about to spend probably another 3k on the second one they worked on. They hit the nerves in both teeth and caused irreparable tooth loss to a back molar due to the extent of the infection. I'm going to see what's going on with the second tooth this week, but the pain is the same as before so I'm sure I'll need a root canal. Terrible experience, PLEASE do not go here. read more

I give one star because of nurse was pleasant but not doctors she doesn't wants do any of every 6m for maintain treatment she kept asking me "if you want I will do" I said I need every 6m service what ever insurance covers but she keep repeating " if you want if you want" and $100 for cleaning out of my pocket. Dentist aren't my favorite people to visit and I have had major gum surgery done recently - so you can guess why. However, I changed my insurance this year and found a dentist down the street from where I live. After asking around, I decided to give the place a shot for regular cleaning and check-up. Dr.Dao was very efficient and almost painless (which is soooo much better than my last dentist). Not only that, she showed me how to floss properly (even though I have to admit, I know how to, I jus don't do it as often as I should... lazy!!!) Thank God for these Yelp reviews, because it really helped me in choosing a new dentist, Dr Bic Nguyen. Her office is clean, has new equipment and is conveniently located to where I live. That's the good part, but unfortunately there was a downside to my first-time visit. It started with the dental tech, who also substituted as the receptionist. She wasn't very friendly or welcoming and continued to make my entire visit unnecessarily unpleasant. Never understand a person who is in the people business that doesn't like people? I got the impression she wasn't from the neighborhood and didn't seem very educated. So what I got was someone with an attitude, which honestly, I could've done without. My only quibble with LSDC was I made my appt. for 3PM and it was the exact same time as another patient, who just happened to bring along her two rambunctious kids. I don't know why we were scheduled at the same time, but we were? When I was put in one of the rooms getting x-rayed the dental tech/receptionist couldn't even shut the door when I asked her to because supposedly her equipment prevented her from doing so, so I had to endure hearing these non-stop screaming kids. It's a fairly small office where you can hear everything, this went on for a good 20 minutes or so. I felt like leaving, but stayed because my tooth had been hurting for awhile and I had no idea when I could get the next appointment. In hindsight though, I wished I had rescheduled. Dr. Bic is amazing! I've been going here for years. It started out because it was close to my home, but it turned out to be so wonderful I wouldn't want to switch. For starters, she has weekend hours - Saturdays and Sundays!! What dentist does that?! With my crazy work schedule, that's indispensable. Next, is the very friendly staff who remember all your zany tales from 6 months ago and pick up right where you left off. In my case, they see my spouse too, so there are even more stories to share to catch each other up on all the news. Dr. Bic has even called me to confirm my spouse's appointment when she couldn't reach him by phone because he was out of the country. I called to check prices on getting my teeth bounded and the receptionist said she wouldn't be able to quote prices until I paid a $50 exam fee. I said that I knew the exam would determine how many surfaces I'd need done, but the price per surface should not change, and that's what I needed to know. She said she was sure I'd need 3 surfaces done (I've had them done about 10 times in 20 years and have never needed 3 surfaces) and kept quoting higher and higher prices and said she couldn't call my insurance today (it was a Saturday, so that makes sense, but she did not offer to call them, and was clearly trying to get rid of me). I also need my lingual wire moved and she said she didn't do that and to go somewhere else for everything if that's what I needed. I remarked that it seemed she didn't want to bother with me as a customer, so she said, "best of luck" and hung up. read more

I would first like to start out by saying I am a huge baby. Don't like needles, don't like dentists, and avoided going to one for over a decade (stupid I know don't tell me). Problems arose and I was on the search for a family doctor because not only was I neglectful but my sister was too; and to top it all off my sister had some pretty bad experiences. Long story short, we passed the threshold of Dr. Nguyen's office and I've been happy ever since. Some would say it's because I finally addressed the issues that began to plague me from years of neglect but it is much more than that. Dr. Nguyen is a young vibrant attentive doctor. She took the time to explain all the procedures to me and my sister from the root canal to the extractions to the deep cleaning. But most importantly, despite the neglect on my part she always made me feel comfortable and confident that it wasn't too late to get the smile I desire. I don't know if it is explicitly stated anywhere but she truly believes in a more holistic approach to dentistry unlike I've ever seen. She's very thorough from the procedure itself right down to the dollars and cents so you can make sense of it all (God I sound like a commercial lol but Im in sales and I watch a lot of television). Anywayz.... Just a side note. Her referrals are very good as well. Once I select a dentist I don't really like to go elsewhere for my procedures but my impacted tooth had to be handled by a specialist. He was a good guy and emphasized the open door policy for follow ups or to express concerns if necessary. I feel far more confident and I really like my smile now. Dr Nancy is one of the best dentist that I've come across in a very long time. She was very patient and very kind and informative. I took my two year old son to have a check up/exam and she was very patient with him and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable when he got a little nervous. I am a cancer survivor. The debt I incurred completely ravaged my life savings, and I am now on Medicaid. I have a broken tooth that is quite painful, and I have been unable to afford to go to the dentist for over 3 years. I saw the great reviews for this office, so I called and was told that YES, they did accept Medicaid. I was so relieved I could finally see a dentist! I went to my appointment, filled out all the paperwork, and was seen by the dental assistant. She took an x-ray of the broken tooth (only), and I waited to be seen by the dentist. When she arrived, she immediately told me that she doesn't do crowns. She then stated that I needed a deep cleaning which she said I was not covered for. After less than 5 minutes with the dentist, my chair was raised, my bib removed, and I was signaled that they were through with me! I pleaded for any help to relieve some of my discomfort, but was told they could do nothing...unless, of course, I had CASH! $600! Now I had lost a day of work, and had no relief whatsoever. I walked home in tears and called Medicaid. They told me that all her office needed to do was submit an authorization form for the deep cleaning. I'm assuming these great reviews are written by people who have cash or good insurance. But, apparently, unless one needs a common cleaning, the less fortunate get minimal attention at best. NO Crowns! NO Consideration! NO Compassion! read more
