The view stole the show with this place. It's a great location with both Indoor and outdoor seating. Once you park, you have to go downstairs to the host stand. The outside was packed so we went inside. The temperature was comparable to the outside since there are two doors constantly being open. We were greeted quickly and ordered drinks and got their loaded wedges. This place was busy from both vehicles and boat traffic. First observation was the carpeted floor and the chemical cleaner odor battling the smell of the bar. The occasional fly buzz was distracting as well, but couldn't be helped with the in and out traffic. The loaded wedges were delicious and the side Caesar salad was also very good. My Son ordered the French Dip (very salty) with onion rings as a side (over cooked). My Wife had a burger (bun was tuff). I had the double cheeseburger which was massive and tasty. I loved their twisted fries as well. Service was sufficient, yet very busy. Wow, I like restaurant food to be at a quality at least on par with my cooking, 4 burgers all cooked " medium well" , when the burger is charcoal edged I'd say thats well done! Onion soup was too sweet no onion flavor. Burger patties were frozen not fresh I'd bet my house on it! read more

Get outside seating if possible the view is wonderful and noise level tolerable. I walked inside to the bathroom and the sound of a fully seated room was uncomfortable. It's great to see Lake Lure full of water and boats docked outside. Dorothy was our friendly and attentive server. She was fun to converse with. She steered us in the right direction for ordering our meals. She recommended the Philly cheese steak version of the French dip and it was plentiful and tasty. My partner enjoyed her custom burger and the coleslaw Dorothy suggested was creamy and flavorful. She even nailed my half unsweetened half sweet ice tea. It was the perfect sweetness. I can rate this visit a 5 star experience while under the influence of waterside deck views and an hour of clear weather. Our first visit was excellent. Waitress was great. Unfortunately our waitress was slammed and not attentive. Took our orders and never saw her until she delivered the food. We went to the bar to get something else to drink. Once food was delivered we never saw her until we were done. Understand how busy they were but the service Friday with a different waitress was much better. Food was good- not gourmet but tasted good. Staff was friendly , service was attentive even though he was rocking multiple tables sat at once- didn't miss a step. Overall, you go here for great views of the lake. Tucked in at the bottom of lake lure it's a great spot to take in a sunset or pull up the boat mid day for some food. The prices are a littttle expensive for the area but the portions were solid with a good mix of dishes. We got a steak (which was huge) and a duck bowl (it was okay). Walking downstairs it smelled like there used to be an indoor pool down there, very "chlorine-y". But eating on the deck and looking at the lake was very nice. One of the Best Dining Experiences Ever! Lakehouse Restaurant Bar & Grill completely blew us away -- not just with the food, but with the incredible service we received from our server, Jaiden. We accidentally walked in right before closing (we thought we had seen that they closed at 10 on Friday but they closed at 9), but you would've never known it. The staff welcomed us without hesitation, seated us immediately, and not once made us feel rushed. In fact, Jaiden went out of his way to make our experience feel relaxed and enjoyable -- even offering us dessert after we'd finished eating! The service alone was five stars, but the food sealed the deal. The she crab soup was honestly some of the best I've ever had -- rich, flavorful, and comforting. The chicken tenders were clearly hand-breaded and so tender they practically melted in your mouth. Everything we tried was fresh and absolutely delicious. This place is a must-visit, and if you can, request Jaiden -- his professionalism and kindness elevated our whole night. After cruising Lake Lure on our rented pontoon boat for a few hours we were all in agreement that a visit to the LakeHouse Restaurant for a few cocktails and beers was a good plan before returning the rental to Rumbling Bald Resort. With the lake level a little lower than normal we approached the dock with care to avoid dragging the bottom and beaching this party barge - all hands on deck to secure the boat to the dock that wraps the back of this restaurant. Once we were all safety disembarked we made our way to the stairs leading to the outside deck and through the door into the bar, today it's seemed like everyone in the area had the same idea this place was lit - Isabella greeted out group of ten and the staff immediately began moving tables to accommodate our party with menus in hand. We made it clear before the staff got overly attentive with menus and tableware it was going to be drinks only although we appreciated the hospitality. I quickly ordered a Highland Gaelic Ale, this draft has quickly became a favorite of mine since arriving in the area, it pours a reddish color with a significant white head, smells slightly malty has a distinct taste of caramel with a slightly complex finish, it's a medium body brew with just enough carbonation to tingle the back of your throat with a bitter finish it's a very easy drinking red ale served ice cold it very appealing to the palette. ...okay I always ask about draft beer temperatures, this place serves cold beer in big glasses, being I was the first mate on today's three hour tour with no chance of the weather getting rough or our tiny ship getting lost I chose the 22 ounce, so refreshing even though onboard I was sipping Tito's and Lemon Lime Gatorade over crushed ice. Carolina Grilled Cheese - pulled pork BBQ had little flavor...hardly any bbq sauce on it. A few onions. Not worth the prices paid. I was happy to find something open near Lake Lure after the disaster of Hurricane Helene. I can't eat fried foods and that seemed to be the majority of the menu. The parking here is very limited. If you want to sit outside by the lake you follow the arrow on the side (upstairs than down). The views are gorgeous and service was exceptional. The seafood was very fresh and tender. The inside had a sour smell when I went inside to use the bathroom so I was thankful we were sitting outside. The outdoor seating with a beautiful view of the lake is what you would go here for. I got the southern style burger with pimento cheese and bacon - pretty good and satisfying because I was already starving. My boyfriend got the fish of the day burger and it was undercooked in the middle. They replaced his fish with another one. Service was good, but they lost our order ticket and we didn't get our food for like 20-30 mins. Didn't offer any compensation and we didn't ask for any, so it was whatever. The last time we ate at this restaurant it was called Jimmy's and that was 31 years ago on our honeymoon. We were back in the area for our anniversary and decided to eat there again. I got the pecan "encrusted" trout. It wasn't encrusted, rather topped, and the bourbon sauce was really sweet. All of the other adults didn't like their food either. Seating was also quick and efficient, which made for a great start to the visit. However, the service didn't live up to the same level. Our waitress seemed inattentive and wasn't as engaged as expected, which affected the overall dining experience. I would rate the food 5 stars, seating 5 stars, and service 3 stars.
