Our first time here and it was great. It was quite busy and it is seat yourself which is the only thing we were not overly enthused about. The guys had the ultimate stuffed hash browns and both really enjoyed them. I had the BLT on grilled white bread and crinkle fries, it was delicious. Our server was sweet and friendly. We heard from some locals this was a good place to get breakfast and it certainly has some amazing qualities but also had some drawbacks food wise. The biscuits and gravy are awesome. If that's your thing definitely get it. They have a fruit bar for about 4 bucks that was so fresh and delicious. The American fries are home made and yummy. Toast is thick cut and tasty. The only negative for me was the omelettes. American cheese is their filler and it is not the best. :( You can substitute feta or mozzarella but no cheddar apparently. Service is slow but friendly and it is a good place to get breakfast very close to the lakes. read more

The Lakeside Cafe always has excellent service whether it be dine in or take out. A lot of times, I choose to call in and order on my way home from work and it's always on time (10-15 minutes). The staff is always prompt and friendly. The omelettes are always full of flavor (never dry) and the toast is always reasonably buttered. read more

We thought we would try it out so we went there late one night. We found the setting outdated although everything appeared to be very clean and kept up. I ordered the steak and eggs and my steak came out well done even though I asked for medium rare and my toast was a little burned. The flavor of my food was fair. My wife got a cheeseburger which was fantastic! The homemade bread that they used for the bun really give it a nice touch. This is strictly diner food. If you're looking for something fancy go somewhere else. Our waitress was really nice and attentive. It appears that this has been a local hang out for many many years and there are a lot of loyal local customers. It was a wonderful little place. We were sitted quickly and politel. I had a Belgian waffle with an English muffin and soda. My significant other had blueberry pancake and coffee. Our food was served nice and warm. it was extremely goo. The portions were large and the pancakes had fresh large blueberries which were quite plentiful. Our waitress was amazing. The Scramble had lots of tomatoes and spinach and smothered in cheese, the Eggs Benedict wasn't too lemony, the potatoes were fresh and non-greasy, and the gravy was peppery and good! This place was so yummy. I came in here with my mom and grandmother a few months ago, and our food was totally great. Diner vibes and cute tables and booths. It's definitely a beachy, low-profile sort of place, and is very early-bird oriented. A little run down, but comfortable and definitely charming in its own way. Food was just, yum. There are no other adjectives. I got a cheeseburger and my mom and grandmother each got a grilled cheese. What really made this place for me was that every form of sandwich came on this thick, toasted, buttery, chewy bread and it was so satisfyingly on point. Excellent food. We stopped here in our way to the Lake Express Ferry. I had to Garden Omelet. Oozing with cheese, mushrooms, tomatoes-yummy. Raisin toast-thick and just the right amount of butter. Hubby had the special: eggs quesadilla with hash browns. Quite the food adventure for him. Nothing left on his plate-it was great. Good coffee. We saw a lot of locals eating here. There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this place. Everything is prepared fresh- no frozen reheated food here. They make their own breads and cinnamon rolls- and they are to die for! The rye bread is the best. Service is prompt and friendly. The portions are HUGE and the prices are great- never spent more than $20, tip included, for the two of us.
