This review is specifically in regards to calling into question the character and integrity of Dr. Scott Overholser! I am prepared to backup this statement with photographs, evidence, and timestamps. I have been coming to Lakeview dental arts for years, about 2-3 years now. Previously saw an amazing doctor, I have not seen one doctor since she left, only a sea of hygienists. Asking me to come in for more and more deep cleanings and then regular cleanings, to which I complied. Recently, I had a situation where I was told by them that I needed a deep clean. I agreed and got one, then they told me it was not approved by my insurance. I called my insurance company and eventually had it approved. Therefore, I did not need to pay the 600+ bill they were claiming. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have all the email receipts of the kind and upfront communication with this as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Here is the questionable part- Dr. Scott- I've NEVER met you before in my life. I received a letter today from Dr. Scott Overholser dismissing me as a patient due to It said there was "a breakdown in doctor patient relationship." I have never met this man and appalled at such a false accusation. I am deeply questioning his character that he felt comfortable signing a letter and dismissing a patient without reason, one that he does not even know, after stringing me along for years with cleanings and never actually meeting me in persons. This is an outright disgrace to medical care. You should be ashamed of yourself. read more

Had my first visit today at Lakeview Dental Arts! I was so sad to leave my previous dentist who was very compassionate and professional. Luckily LDA is just as if not more welcoming :) The girls at the front desk (Ana, Courtney & Afnan) were so sweet and took the time to explain every step of what to expect. They let me know which reminders to look out for and thoroughly explained billing, as well as how long my current and follow up appointments would be. Natalia was my dental hygienist and she went above and beyond to try and ensure I was comfortable, even bringing in another team member to help with X Rays which are really uncomfortable for me. She was precise, quick and gave feedback throughout my cleaning to help ease my anxiety. Finally, Dr Priyanka was so sweet and hands on, and really took time to ask me personal questions about my life to get to know me as a person and not just a patient. She was hands on during part of the cleaning as well so I feel really confident leaving my appointment. I don't think I'll ever be excited to go to a dentist, but the caring and compassionate employees at LDA make every step of appointment easy and manageable :) read more

After having some complications and difficulties with a certain tooth where the crown had been replaced three times in the last four years and then recently fell out, I went to Lakeview Dental Arts and the experience was absolutely fantastic. I was introduced to Dr. Youssuf who is their oral surgeon and he extracted the tooth. While getting a tooth pulled is never good, he put me at ease and handled it professionally and compassionately! Since Doctor Scott is no longer seeing patients, this office has gone down hill. The new dentist told me that she was going to follow up with my insurance, put together a treatment plan, and take care of a tooth issue. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I waited several days almost two weeks. Just had my first visit here for an exam and cleaning. So far, so great! Scheduling was easy, and the front desk was super accommodating despite my embarrassing fumbling to find a time that works for my crazy schedule. Check-in couldn't have been easier - they just scanned my ID to confirm my identity, unlike some doctor's offices where you're met with a pile of redundant forms to fill out even after completing online paperwork. Elyse was an awesome hygienist! She explained everything well and had an easygoing, lighthearted way about her. I usually struggle with small talk, but chatting with her felt like hanging out with a cheerful old friend. I am a happy patient of Dr. Scott Overholser at Lakeview Dental Arts. Recently, I completed a major overhaul on my teeth which really had to be done. I highly recommend "Dr. Scott" and his incredible assistant Crystal, and actually the whole office team. Beforehand, they responded to my questions and concerns with patience and respect. During the procedure, they focused on keeping me comfortable while deftly working together to finish the complex work. The experience was professional, the results are wonderful, and I am so relieved and grateful. Over the years, my experience with the other dentists and dental professionals at Lakeview has also been extremely positive. Dr. Priyanka is great. I went to Lakeview with a broken molar not long after I moved to the neighborhood; she saw me right away and put in a nicely fitted temporary crown. When I went back for the permanent one 10 days later, she shaped it, asking questions about how it felt biting down, until it was perfect. It feels like my original tooth, but better! Lakeview Dental Arts is the best. I don't dread going to the Dentist because I feel safe. Dr. Mike gives me sound advice on treatment that I need. I had work done by Dr. Mike & it didn't hurt at all, plus I was able to watch TV which was a great distraction. I haven't trusted other Dentists I've gone to in the past & wasn't always sure if treatments were necessary or just a way to get money. Dr. Mike helps me resolve problems I'm having & sincerely listens. He recommends treatment & I trust him because he identifies exactly what I've been feeling w my teeth & gums. I've been a patient here since I moved to Chicago, and I've had a great experience every time. Compared to prior dentists I've visited I'd say this place has 4 things that set it apart... 1) the friendliness of the staff - from the receptionists, to the dentists, to the hygienists, everyone always seems like they are in a good mood. Sometimes they will call you to confirm an appointment or something, and the woman on the phone is always very polite and almost excited to talk to you. This goes a long way in a service industry like this 2) you can book/cancel/change appointments so easily. They send you a direct text about a week in advance of your appointment, and it includes a link to a website where you can change your appointment on the spot. No need to call someone or wait to speak with whoever, it's so easy to click the link and move the appt. 3) the available hours for appointments are awesome. They have a couple days a week where they open early in the AM, a couple days where they are open into the evenings, and you can even do some Saturday times by request. This is awesome, especially for people with 9-5 jobs downtown. 4) TVs on the ceiling... I just think this is a nice touch and adds to the customer-centric attitude everyone here has. Overall, I'd happily recommend this place if you are considering switching - or need a new - dentist. read more

I don't usually write reviews, but if you are nervous about going to the dentist for anything from a checkup to a full-on surgery, you're doing yourself a disservice by not making an appointment with Lakeview Dental Arts. Dr. Dalia and every single person in her office are so committed to helping you handle your teeth and do so in a way that is so reassuring and painless (this is coming from someone who has had three root canals and two crown lengthening surgeries in the last year). I had SO much anxiety going to the dentist for so long, I knew I had dental work to be done but I kept putting it off and ended up needing two root canals. After I had those done, I was referred to Dr. Dalia and Lakeview dental arts for the permanent crown and future dental work. I have a lot of anxiety in general, so I am not the easiest patient, but every single person at Lakeview dental arts is so friendly and reassuring. Everyone throughout the entire process is absolutely amazing. Even before your appointment - Jacklyn is so incredibly friendly, reassuring, and patient! Jacklyn has been SO patient with me and has made sure that I understand each and every potential charge, and actual charge after each appointment, and has been so thorough in explaining payment plan options. And Esmeralda and Martha who were both so understanding and made room for me in their insanely busy schedule when my temporary crown chipped, and followed up with me and encouraged me to come in when I was nervous and hesitant. During the appointment, you'll first meet with Dr. Dalia's amazing dental assistants and the two I've worked with, Angel and Crystal, have been absolutely incredible. You can tell that they want you to feel comfortable and that they are extremely skilled. Angel talked me through my first crown lengthening surgery and was so incredibly reassuring and helpful throughout the entire surgery. And Crystal was there for me when my temporary crown cracked and I was super hesitant to come in -- she was so gentle and was very meticulous in making sure that the new temporary was made just right - she even took the new temp out of my mouth to drill it down to just the right size. When it came time to take the temporary off, it took A LOT of strength to get it off because it was so well done! And Dr. Dalia is the best dentist I have ever had, hands down. She is so friendly and committed to helping you understand exactly what is going on with your teeth, doing it in a way that makes you feel comfortable, and ALWAYS goes the extra mile to show you what she is doing, why, and after the procedure, will show you the before and after and will give you very clear instructions on what to do post-procedure, and answer any and all questions you have. During every procedure, every step of the way, even after you've been given novocaine(which she talks you through as well), she ALWAYS lets you know what she's going to start doing, when you're going to feel a certain kind of pressure or hear a certain noise, etc., as she goes through the procedure, and if you have any pain or discomfort whatsoever, she is so incredibly accommodating and patient and will help you feel more comfortable. After having a root canal, two crown lengthening surgeries, and a handful of cavities filled by Dr. Dalia and her team, I can genuinely say that going to Lakeview Dental Arts has taken away all anxiety I had about going to the dentist. If you're having ANY doubts whatsoever about going to the dentist, I can say without any uncertainty that you will 1000000% feel so much better after having your first appointment here and getting everything resolved. I've literally recommended them to any of my friends looking for a new dental office! You are greeted when you walk into the office and when your hygienist calls you up. I haven't had a problem with my biannual dental cleaning when I switched between insurances a few years back. The women working at the front desk made the transition very smooth and painless! This dental practice has not only lived up to my expectations but far surpassed them. The office is in a great location, has great patient amenities and is very clean. The front office staff is personable and helpful and make booking and rescheduling a breeze. The hygienists and assistants are extremely knowledgeable and gentle and always make sure I am comfortable.
